My Time to Craft #298 - Sketch

Oh Hooray it's Saturday!!!!
And time for another challenge
at MY TIME TO CRAFT - Whoop Whoop!
This week we have a terrific SKETCH for you to use.

Oh goodness....I LOVE circles in sketches!
Circles often signify feminine in my mind but
this time I knew immediately what I wanted to do
for a masculine card.  I really thought about creating a
a circle shaped card but decided instead to use the circle
elements and make a square card. And...here's the end result:

The stamps (beer mug and sentiment) are from
Your Next Stamp "For the Boys" and the papers are
by Echo Park "Jack and Jill - boy".  FUN huh??!
I think I'm going to save this one for my son's bday
in November. He turned 21 this year and has decided
that he really likes microbrews - so it's perfect for him!
(Although I hope he doesn't  have that look on his face - LOL)

I'd like to enter this in the following challenges:
Papertake Weekly - Trio Tastic (3 banners)
the Friday Mashup #215 - It's All About 3 (3 banners)

Thanks so much for stopping by to visit me today!
The rest of the talented ladies on the MTTC team have
also made some wonderful creations to share with you this week.
Please go visit them too and say "hi".
Til next time...hugs and happy crafting! D

Catch the Bug Challenges - June Photo Inspiration

Good Saturday morning peeps!
It's time for another new and FUN challenge
and this time it's a Photo Inspiration theme.

Create a crafty project that takes some element of this
gorgeous photo and share it with us.  It could be the sky,
beach, vacation, wedding, colors...what ever inspires you
(please tell us what it is if it isn't obvious).

I went with the most obvious inspiration of this photo
and created a wedding card.  The Bugaboo digital image
I used is called "Make it Snappy - Congratulations"

I'd like to enter this in the following challenges:
The Outlawz Challenges - Twisted Thursday "Anything Goes"

Thanks so much for stopping by to visit me today!
I hope that you will join us this week at Catch the Bug
and share your fabulous creation with us.  Please go check
out the work of the other talented ladies this week.
Til next time...hugs and happy crafting! D

Sketch Saturday #367 - Deedee's Digis Sponsor

Hello lovely friends and followers!
It's time for another fabulous sketch challenge
at SKETCH SATURDAY!

Our sponsor this week is Deedee's Digis

The Sketch Challenge Prize is a $15.00 gift certificate.

Here is sketch #367:
Deedee offers sets with colored and line images, sentiments and some
sets include coordinating digital papers.  For my DT card today
I've used one of the colored images in the fabby set called "Classics".

This is a quick post for me today as we have a very very
busy weekend and I won't be around much on line.  Gotta
enjoy the summer sun as much as we can :o)

I hope that you will join us this week - can't wait
to see your fabby creations using Sketch #367.

Til next time...hugs and happy crafting! D

My Time to Craft #297 - Fairies

Hello again friends! Hope you are having a
wonderful weekend!  It's time for another new
challenge theme at MY TIME TO CRAFT #298!
This time our theme is Fairies.

I've colored up a sweet little stamp set from a
set called "Fairy Friends" (from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps)
for my DT card today.  I used some soft pastel colors
(not something I do very often) and left it without
a sentiment because I couldn't decided what "occasion"
or "reason" I wanted this to be for.  This way I
can quickly pop a sentiment inside with a message
when the time is right and I'm good to go.

I hope that you will join us this week too!
Thanks so much for stopping by to visit met today!
Hugs! D

Kraftin' Kimmie Saturday Challenge #285 - TRY SOMETHING NEW

Hi everyone! Welcome to another weekly challenge at
Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps!

I get the pleasure of being your hostess for the theme of this week's challenge.
I've been kind of experimenting lately with different techniques and styles
so I thought it would be fun to make my challenge "Try Something New"!
Now don't let that scare you... it doesn't have to be a technique or style.
Your "try something new" could be a new color combo that you might not
have tried otherwise, or a new embellishment (like wood or charms or washi
tape).  It could also be using a new/different type of coloring medium.
For example, I usually color with copics - but it might be fun to use
pencils or crayons instead.  If you are really not so hot on trying something
new then use a new stamp and make a creation to share with us.
Not so scary right??!  Just tell us what your "New" is please.

For my "Try Something New" I made two cards using water techniques
(both of which I learned recently from my talented friend Cindi C).
The first one is made by giving a piece of watercolor paper a good
soaking with a water and dropping candy sprinkles on it to dissolve
(yep, like the kind of sprinkles you put on your cupcakes or donuts).
I used some quite large sprinkles that took a long time to dissolve so
I'd recommend the smaller little hard sprinkles if you try this.
I can tell you though that this smells good enough to eat - LOL!
I used one of the new Itty Bitty Friends stamp set (Clarabelle)
and a sentiment from the "Make A Wish" sentiment stamp set .
I also have a sweet little button and mini doily on this
card that I got from the Kraftin Kimmie Shop.

I'm entering this card in The Outlawz Challenges
Twisted Thursday - Theme of "Things w/ Wings"

My second card also uses water but this time I gave
a panel of watercolor paper a good watercolor wash
with a large paintbrush and some Rich Razzleberry ink
(from Stampin Up) then I dropped some kosher salt
crystals all over the panel while it was still wet to
let the salt dissolve the color in areas where it sat.
After it was dry (heat guns are awesome for this) I embossed
a sentiment (from the "Words of Inspiration" stamp set)
in black - sadly I got it a little crooked - and then added
a bunch of prima flowers and some black rhinestones and
that amazing button on the largest flower middle.  This is
a different style for me as I don't usually go so dark with my
colors - but I do like how it turned out with the variation of
colors due to the salt.  Hope you like it too!

I hope that you will be joining us this week for the Kraftin' Kimmie Saturday Challenge!
We always enjoy your creations so be sure to submit them so you can WIN
a $10 gift card to the Shop!! Show us your stuff!!
Now create a card, scrapbook page or altered item with a Kraftin' Kimmie Stamp
or any other stamp and be sure to use our THEME as a starting point for your
creation! You will have until June 26th at 11:55 pm EST to get your entries in!

Have you joined the Kraftin Kimmie's Krafty Friends fb group??
It's the best place to keep up with all of the goings on as well as sharing YOUR
creations and getting inspired by other Krafty Friends' creations!!!

Wonderful Wednesday at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps

Hello sweet friends - and a special shout out to my newest
follower Patry Ro! Happy to have you along in my creative journey.

Today is Wednesday so you know what that means don't ya??
(besides being half way through most of your normal work weeks)
It's time for another Wonderful Wednesday Challenge

As always....the theme is ANYTHING GOES!!

I'm still playing with one of the NEW June stamp sets
called "Let's Roll Dude!"  Love this fun masculine set - take a look:

I bought this great tool that cuts the shanks (backs) off of plastic
buttons. Oh My Gosh...what a fabulous tool!! I have always struggled
with how to put those types of buttons on my creations and have it lay
right and not require extra special postage/packaging to send it
because of the bulk.  I'm so excited to be able to use FUN buttons
like this now ( "Tool Time" buttons are in the KK Store)!
These great  "guy" papers (and coordinating enamel dots)  are from the
Echo Park 6x6 paper pad called "Jack and Jill -Boy" (also from KK Store).

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:
MOJO Monday 402 (see sketch below - which I modified
to be a square card instead of a regular A2 size).

The Corrosive Challenge Blog #226 - Pile it On!
Crafting for All Seasons #104 - "It's a Boy Thing"
Crazy 4 Challenges - #290 - masculine
Loves Rubber Stamps Challenge #156 - Masculine theme

Did you know....
that ALL of the NEW June stamps are live in the Krafty Store?
That KK will be releasing another Limited Edition Krafty Kard Kit soon
featuring a special stamp by artist, Annie Rodrigue PLUS LOTS of other goodies
including designer papers from Echo Park, colourful Bazzill cardstocks,
trim, twine, flowers, and other fun embellishments!  If you want one,
you'd better snap one up because there are a very limited number available!
Pop on over to the Facebook page (or on the main KK challenge post) for
more details and information.

I hope that you will join us this week for Wonderful Wednesday!!
We want EVERYONE to be able to play along so your submission can use
ANY stamp and can be any theme, any style, any design and it can be a card,
a scrapbook page, an altered item....you name it as long as it is a NEW creation!

Catch the Bug Challenges (Anything Goes) and My Time to Craft #295 - For a Male

Oh hello! Here it is the weekend - whoo hoo - and time
for two new challenge themes at
where it's anything goes this week
and
"For a Male/masculine theme".

I've combined both of these challenges with this
fun card - take a look:
This card is made using "Card Kit - KIDZ - Cookie" by
Bugaboo Digis.  It has the digital papers, the boy image,
a cookie image and 2 great sentiments. I sized the papers
to be 5.2 inches x 4.1 inches prior to printing them.

This fun image reminds me so much of son.  He had those sweet
freckles on his nose and cheeks and LOVED cookies,
especially chocolate chip ones and he'd want "more" constantly.
I'd give him a cookie and he'd ask for 3 more.
I'd say "no, you can have one more", and then he would say
"Awww, compromise five more!" I'd laugh and say "Nope! compromise one
more."  And then he'd say "OK Mama, compromise 2 more". And I'd usually
give him two more- LOL!!  He was a pretty adorable negotiator!
At 21 he still loves chocolate chip cookies a lot. When he gets back to WI
for college I'm going to send this card and some cookies to him ;o)

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
Addicted to Stamps and More! Challenge #147 "Make Your Mark"
Simon Says Wednesday Challenges - "Make it Masculine"
Brown Sugar Challenge Blog #149 - Anything Goes
Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes
Simply Create Too Challenge #87 - Masculine

I hope that you will go visit the rest of the DT at
see their wonderful creations for your inspiration.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Til next time....HUGS! D

Sketch Saturday #364 w/Sami Stamps

Hello friends - happy weekend!
We have a busy weekend planned as we are trying
to squish every last bit of fun in our last couple of days
before my son heads back to Wisconsin  again.
So...I'll keep my post kind of brief for today if you don't mind :o)

It's time for another weekly sketch at Sketch Saturday!
We have a great sponsor this week - Sami Stamps!

For my DT card I used the adorable Sami Stamps image
called "Umbrella Pals" and Sketch #364 (see below)

I paired this adorable digital image with a stamped sentiment
from "Rain or Shine" by Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps and used some fun papers
from the Echo Park "Sunny Days Ahead" (6 x 6 pad) - also available
at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps. I couldn't believe how perfect these
papers were for this image!! The ink color is Bermuda Bay by
Stampin' Up and I colored this with copic markers.

Here's Sketch #364:
I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
Sister Act Card Challenges #109 - "Anything goes"
Penny's Paper Crafty-Challenges #230 - Anything Goes
Crafting from the Heart #62 - Anything Goes

Thanks so much for stopping by to visit me today!
Please go visit the rest of the lovely and talented team at

MOJO Monday #400

Hello friends and followers - so happy you are here to visit me today!
I mentioned a few posts back that I have several graduation cards to make
for family and friends.  I used the MOJO Monday #400 sketch this week

to help me get one of my cards done - take a look:

I love how quickly this card came together (bonus)!
I printed off a digital stamp from Stampin' Up and used
an oval die cut for the shape (cutting off the overhang on the bottom).
I had scraps of left over paper from 3 years ago with the felt mortar
boards (graduation caps) that I snipped out as an additional embellishment
and added a few candy dots.  Viola - done! Well... except for the gift :o)

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges as well:
Alphabet Challenge Blog - "H" is for Hats and/or Handbags
Clear it Out Challenges: Theme/Anything Goes and Stash/You Choose
(my stash is the cap from the paper scraps and the candy dots)
4 Crafty Chicks #249 - Graduation
The Crafter's Cafe - #119: School's Out/Graduation

So off I go to enjoy my weekend and do a little more crafting!
Still have 4 cards to finish for the parties we are going to over the next week.
Better get busy! Til next time...hugs and happy crafting! D

My card today features a stamp and sentiment from a set
called "Coffee Crusader" by Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps.

Freebie Friday at Bugaboo

Hello! Today is Freebie Friday at Bugaboo!!!
Who doesn't love FREEBIES?? I can't think of anyone!
This week's image called "Sign it - boy balloons" is just adorable
and has lots of possiblities - take a look:

I decided to make this a shaker card using one of the clear
packaging that some other crafty products came in.  It made
a perfect sleeve to put the sequins in.  Using an exacto knife
I cut around the image frame for the opening and then stamped
my sentiment (from "Make a Wish" by Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps") on
the card base  before attaching  the panel. The orange chevron strip
is washi tape and the red strip is from a border punch.
Bright colorful and fun!! Perfect for a boy or teen - I think.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
The Pink Elephant Challenges #301 - Masculine Birthday
The Male Room Challenge #11 - Use Washi Tape
The Friday Mashup #212 - I used the embellishments option
with a cluster of sequins.

You can find this image in the Bugaboo store today for FREE!
Some of the other wonderful designers for Bugaboo have also
made some darling creations for  your inspiration.  Please go
visit them at Catch the Bug Challenge blog and see what they have too.
Thanks so much for stopping by to visit me today! Hugs D
