Sweet 16 Birthday Card {Unity Stamp Co.}

Hello and happy weekend to everyone!
Yesterday was my daughter's 16th birthday.
She definitely embodies the description of
"SWEET" 16.  She is the most beautiful young
woman and a kind, loving and respectful daughter.
I wanted to make a card that represented both
her current beauty and the fact that she is
still evolving each day into the amazing
woman I know she will be.

Here is the card I made for her.
The stamp set is called Faceless Beauty
by Unity Stamp Co.  I felt it so perfectly
fit for Brooklyn's card. I love the faceless portion
of this image as it represents what is yet to be in
terms of who she will become.
Take a look won't you?
My girlie teared up and said that it was THE most
beautiful card I had ever made her and
it was her favorite of all I had given her.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
Unity Stamps {Show & Tell} fb group 4/21 - 28
where the theme is to use any Unity Girl.
The Corrosive Challenge Blog -April #4 Girls, Ladies,Women

Seize the Birthday Challenges - Anything Goes (4/21/2016)

another fun challenge at Catch the Bug Challenges.
This time we have the very popular "ANYTHING GOES" theme.
That means any theme, any colors, any design, any project
any image...you get it :o).  You don't have to use a
Bugaboo digital stamp but we LOVE it when you do.

You are probably aware of all the CUTE images that
Jodie has in the Bugaboo Stamps store but there are
also many elegant and beautiful digital images as well.
 Today I'm sharing a beautiful card that I made for a friend's
birthday using a Bugaboo Stamps image called "Rose Tag"
(don't worry she has already received it)
Can you tell her favorite color is purple?  I found
this perfect paper in my stash. I have no idea how long
I've had it but I was delighted to find it for this card!
I colored the image using copic markers in the following colors:
Rose (V22, V25 and V28)

Catch the Bug Challenges - New Release Tuesday

Hello friends! It's Tuesday - whoop whoop!
Tuesday is one of my favorite days of the week.
Know why?  'Cause it's no longer Monday LOL!
What is it about Mondays I ask you?!
Always so crazy and hectic - at least for me.

Well never mind that now because it's in the past :o)
Tuesday's are NEW Release days at Bugaboo Stamps

Today we are featuring a few of the absolutely adorable
little bird-day chicks that Jodie designed for the grand
prize of the recent 6th Annual Birthday Bash.
Here's my card featuring just one of the four adorable images

Oh my heavens....how adorable - am I right?!!!

of fun dies to layer and the sketch from
SKETCH SATURDAY #396

Have you been playing along with each of the daily
challenges this week of the 6th Annual Birthday Bash?

Is this just adorable or what?
What inspiration do you take from this?
I saw a new baby shower or celebration so I made
a card featuring a couple of the adorable images

right now.  I love that the colors are so bright and cheery and

who had a precious little son not long ago.  Hope they like it!

Howdy! It's time for Day 3 of the Bugaboo Stamps

that's not a card.  Today the birthday challenge is a wild color
pallette to use.  If you are playing along with us you can
make a card or another type of creation using the colors
below.    The rules are simple.... just create a Birthday project
using this fun color pallette and share it with us by adding

Bugaboo Stamps 6th Annual Birthday Bash Celebration - Welcome to the Jungle {Sketch Challenge}

Welcome back for Day 2 of Bugaboo Stamps
Each day of this week we have a Jungle theme
and the Bugaboo DT are going wild
with our creations to inspire you :o).

I converted the sketch to a square and layered my
main image on a circle doily instead of  an oval.
That's one of the great things about sketches - they jump
start your creativity and you can follow them exactly
(usually what I do) or modify slightly as you are inspired.

Here's my card using Edward Elephant - present

I'd like to enter this in the following challenges:
Simply Create Too Challenge #100 - It's Party Time
Seize the Birthday Challenges - Topping option CAS
(I didn't use the topping option)

This is a big event so there are some big prizes up for grabs,
(see details here). I hope you have time to join us for the week!

The rules are simple, please create a Birthday project fitting each
theme  of the day and add it to the inlinkz per day.
You can enter once or enter each day to increase your chances.
A Bugaboo image is not required however we would love
to see what image you dust of to show your support!

Just a couple more weeks and it will be Christmas!
I don't know about you but I'm no where near ready yet.
I will be putting up my tree and decorations this weekend.
But I still have a lot of gifts to make and buy, cards to
finish and the holiday baking that I love to do.
Not sure how it's all gonna get done but I'm going
to try and enjoy it as much as I can :o).

We have a new Saturday challenge up at

I have several friends and family members with
birthdays in December and January so I love the
opportunity to get a card done for one of them.

My card today features the beautiful Snowball Fairy
from Kraftin' Kimmie - take a peek:

I actually surprised myself and used a monochromatic
color scheme.  I can only seem to do this when I don't
think about it.  When I'm told to use that my brain freezes LOL.
Can you see her sparkly wings and stars? It's kind of hard to see
in the photo but it's gorgeous IRL (courtesy of Wink of Stella pen).
I also added lots of bling with some clear rhinestones layered
on my snowy die cuts.  I think my recipient will love this card :o).

I'd like to enter this in the following challenges:
Brown Sugar Challenge Blog #175 - Anything Goes
(my second entry to this challenge)

Sketch Saturday #374 - Milk Coffee Sponsor

Hello sweet friends - happy weeeeeekkkkkennnnd!
August is just moving right along - we are already
nearly half-way through it.  It has been a HOT month
here but we just had the most amazing thunderstorm
and wonderful rain late last evening. I LOVED it!

It's time for another SKETCH SATURDAY
challenge and here is fabulous Sketch #374

This is a great sketch for those who love a clean
style but still like layers too (I'm one of those people).
Here is my card using a digital image from
our sponsor this week - Milk Coffee

You'll notice that I reversed the placement of the banners
in the sketch.  I didn't want to cover up those cute little flowers.

There is lots of other inspiration to be found by the
Sketch Saturday gals - please pop on over to see
their lovely creations too!!

Thanks so much for stopping by to visit me today!
Til  next time...hugs and happy crafting! D

Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge #291 - Happy Birthday!!

Hello sweet friends and followers - TGIS!
For those of you who don't know what that means,
it's Thank God it's Saturday!!  My favorite day of the week
for lots of reasons... no work (usually), sleeping in, leisurely
coffee and breakfast, some crafty time (if I'm lucky)
and the start of another weekly challenge at

Oh boy do we have a FUN theme for you this week - BIRTHDAY!

Here's my card featuring "Sweet Birthday Kids
I decided to keep it simple (KISS) and not add a bunch of
embellishments this time.  It will be much easier to mail this
way.  The post office usually loves to see me coming
with my heavy and special handling cards due to the embellishments
and/or layers and thickness - but not this time :o)

Since it's the start of a new month we also have a new monthly sketch.
The sketch will last all month long and if you use it in ANY
of our Challenges during the month, you will get an additional chance
to win a store gift card! You do NOT have to use the sketch,
it's just a little extra boost for your mojo if ya need it!

Here's the fabby August sketch:

I am one of those crafters who LOVES to use sketches as a starting
point for my creations.  So I happily used the August sketch for
for my card this time but flipped orientation and changed the
shape from a regular A2 to a square layout.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
Brown Sugar Challenges #157 - Animals
Sister Act Card Challenges #71 - Anything Goes
The Outlawz challenges - Monday Greetings "Anything Goes"
Friday Mashup Challenges #219 - Color and/or Square shaped
(I went with the square option this time).

I sure hope that you will decide to join us this week!  You
could WIN some Krafty $$ to spend in the Kraftin' Kimmie Shop!
But..... only if you enter and share your own gorgeous creation.

Oh and hey... because sometimes I'm a crafty enabler - and love it
when other enable me too with notice of awesome deals on my
favorite crafty products, I wanted to make sure to tell you that
the HUGE summer sale at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps
has been extended through the weekend!  There are hundreds
of awesome stamps in this SALE and many of them are 40 and 50% off.
HURRY though because when they are gone, they are gone.
Kimmie isn't planning on getting restocks on these sale stamps.
Head over to the Krafty store and cross a few things off of your wishlist!
I snatched up a couple myself that I didn't want to miss out on!

Well friends it's time for me to get on with my weekend so
I'll say ta ta for now.  Please go visit the other Krafty Girls and
Guests to see their amazing creations too.
Til next time...hugs and happy kraftin'!D

Freebie Friday at Bugaboo

Hello! Today is Freebie Friday at Bugaboo!!!
Who doesn't love FREEBIES?? I can't think of anyone!
This week's image called "Sign it - boy balloons" is just adorable
and has lots of possiblities - take a look:

I decided to make this a shaker card using one of the clear
packaging that some other crafty products came in.  It made
a perfect sleeve to put the sequins in.  Using an exacto knife
I cut around the image frame for the opening and then stamped
my sentiment (from "Make a Wish" by Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps") on
the card base  before attaching  the panel. The orange chevron strip
is washi tape and the red strip is from a border punch.
Bright colorful and fun!! Perfect for a boy or teen - I think.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
The Pink Elephant Challenges #301 - Masculine Birthday
The Male Room Challenge #11 - Use Washi Tape
The Friday Mashup #212 - I used the embellishments option
with a cluster of sequins.

You can find this image in the Bugaboo store today for FREE!
Some of the other wonderful designers for Bugaboo have also
made some darling creations for  your inspiration.  Please go
visit them at Catch the Bug Challenge blog and see what they have too.
Thanks so much for stopping by to visit me today! Hugs D

Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge #282 - Distress It!

Hello, hello, helloooooo!!!
I'm so happy it's the weekend - how about you?

It's time for another Saturday challenge at
KRAFTIN' KIMMIE STAMPS

Our hostess for Challenge #282 is Tracy and she would like
to see us do some distressing - inking, tearing, or both.
Distressing isn't my "go to" style but I really love to do it
once in a while.  I find it quite fun to rough up and ink
the edges of the papers.  On this particular card I took it a step
further and did a little bit of tearing as I've seen Tracy do so
fabulously.  I might have gotten a wee bit carried away with
that part - but it sure was fun and I do like how it turned out.
Take a look:
The stamp and sentiment are from the Ah-dor-Ahh-ble set
called "Wild About You".  It's definitely one of my favorite
animal stamp sets by far.  The papers came out my older
stash and I punched, then scrunched the flowers to add to this card.
I used Tim Holtz Ranger distress ink around all the edges of the papers.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
Creative Knockouts #28 - Tic Tac Toe
(I used first column - stamped image, distressing and flowers)
The Corrosive Challenge Blog #225 - Anything Goes
Seize the Birthday - Anything Goes Birthday
Simon Says Wednesday Challenges - Anything Goes
The Pink Elephant Challenge #300 - Anything Goes

There are lots of other awesome creations from the Krafty Girls and guests
to see for the KK Challenge #282 Theme of  "Distress it". I hope you will
go visit my lovely krafty sisters and then decide to join us this week too.
Remember your creation can use any stamp, product or project as long as
you follow the theme.  You will have until June 5th at 11:55 pm EST
to get your entries in! You could WIN $10 to spend in the KK shop
(your chances are doubled if you use a KK stamp). Wouldn't that be great?!

Shhh.... can you keep a secret??? I hope not 'cause this is one you might want to
share with your friends.  The Frugal Friday specials are up and there are some
really awesome stamp sets on sales!!! These deals are only good until
Sunday and are limited to stock on hand.  You don't want to miss out!

Thanks so much for stopping in to visit me today - I'm sure glad that  you did!

Sketch Saturday #358

Hello sweet friends!
It's the last weekend of the month and the
start of another great sketch challenge
Our generous prize sponsor this week is none other
than our very own sweet Niki!

Here is Sketch #358
And here is my DT card using it

My baby girl turned 15 this week.  I can't believe
how fast time has gone by - seems like not that long ago
she was "still 5" (she really wanted to be 6).  Kinda makes me sad :o(
This image by Mo Manning totally reminds me of her.
I often see her painting her nails in her jammies.

I'd like to enter this in Mo's Digital Challenges #250 Anything goes
Brown Sugar Challenges - #143 - Anything Goes

The rest of the lovely and talented ladies at SKETCH SATURDAY have
made some jaw dropping creations for you to see - so please

Kraftin' Kimmie Saturday Challenge #276 - Use Twine

Hello again friends!
You may have already visited me for my other three
DT posts - if so, thank you!!  If you are looking for those
other posts please keep scrolling - you'll come right to them :o)

This post is all about the fun new challenge over at

This week we would like to see you USE TWINE on your creation.

I used a plain kraft gift bag that I had received recently to make a
whole new birthday creation using NEW stamps
from the super fun set called "A Bit Smart Assy"

here's a closer shot of the stamped panel

I love all the stamps in this set - great sayings
