I was so disappointed that I missed out on her
previously and super excited that I have the opportunity
to design with her this month!  That's a great way
to get my crafty MOJO jump-started again!

Very Last (and Favorite) Christmas card of 2016

Hello again friends and followers :o)
Are you as in shock as I am that there are
only 3 more days of this year?!
This past month was so full for me with
work and family that it seemed like I blinked
and now it is almost over.
I remember my Grandma telling me that
as you get older time goes by faster.
I didn't believe her until recently lol!

I have one more Christmas card to share with you
today that was made for my son and his lovely lady.

This is a retired Kraftin' Kimmie Stamp called Rudy.
I stamped it on Kraft paper and then colored with
copic markers and a white gel pen.  I really
loved how it turned out and not only was it my
very last Christmas card of 2016 - it was also my favorite!
This cheeky reindeer reminds me a lot of my son :o)
here's the inside too

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Kraftin' Kimmie Challenges #346 - Distressed

Happy Saturday sweet krafty friends!
There's a new weekly challenge starting today
The theme for Challenge #346 is "Vintage or Distressed".
This is not my typical style but when
I do it I love how it looks.  It's also a
lot of fun to get inky and scruff up
the edges of my papers.  Very theraputic :o)

Here's my card to share with you today
using the brand spankin' NEW stamp
set called AUTUMN WISHES.
This stamp reminds me of my friend's kid
who loves pigs and raises them for both
4H and for breeding stock.  I didn't know
how adorable pigs could be (even though they
are definitely stinky) until I got to go see them
and hear all about their stories.  Still I think
I'd rather go visit them than raise my own :o)

I'd like to enter this in the following challenges:
City Crafter Challenge Blog Week 326 - It's all about You
(I have two "you"s on my card)
Crafty Hazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenges - Aug A.G.
Stamping Sensations August Challenge - Anything Goes
Cute Card Thursday Challenge 440 - Words/Numbers

Thanks so much for visiting me today!
I hope you will link up your own fabulous creation.
There's a Kraftin' Kimmie Gift Certificate as a
prize opportunity for playing along (check out the
main blog post for details).
Hugs! D

Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge #282 - Distress It!

Hello, hello, helloooooo!!!
I'm so happy it's the weekend - how about you?

It's time for another Saturday challenge at
KRAFTIN' KIMMIE STAMPS

Our hostess for Challenge #282 is Tracy and she would like
to see us do some distressing - inking, tearing, or both.
Distressing isn't my "go to" style but I really love to do it
once in a while.  I find it quite fun to rough up and ink
the edges of the papers.  On this particular card I took it a step
further and did a little bit of tearing as I've seen Tracy do so
fabulously.  I might have gotten a wee bit carried away with
that part - but it sure was fun and I do like how it turned out.
Take a look:
The stamp and sentiment are from the Ah-dor-Ahh-ble set
called "Wild About You".  It's definitely one of my favorite
animal stamp sets by far.  The papers came out my older
stash and I punched, then scrunched the flowers to add to this card.
I used Tim Holtz Ranger distress ink around all the edges of the papers.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
Creative Knockouts #28 - Tic Tac Toe
(I used first column - stamped image, distressing and flowers)
The Corrosive Challenge Blog #225 - Anything Goes
Seize the Birthday - Anything Goes Birthday
Simon Says Wednesday Challenges - Anything Goes
The Pink Elephant Challenge #300 - Anything Goes

There are lots of other awesome creations from the Krafty Girls and guests
to see for the KK Challenge #282 Theme of  "Distress it". I hope you will
go visit my lovely krafty sisters and then decide to join us this week too.
Remember your creation can use any stamp, product or project as long as
you follow the theme.  You will have until June 5th at 11:55 pm EST
to get your entries in! You could WIN $10 to spend in the KK shop
(your chances are doubled if you use a KK stamp). Wouldn't that be great?!

Shhh.... can you keep a secret??? I hope not 'cause this is one you might want to
share with your friends.  The Frugal Friday specials are up and there are some
really awesome stamp sets on sales!!! These deals are only good until
Sunday and are limited to stock on hand.  You don't want to miss out!

Thanks so much for stopping in to visit me today - I'm sure glad that  you did!

Kraftin' Kimmie Wonderful Wednesday Challenge - April 29th

Hello friends - hope you are all doing well!
Here it is the last Wednesday of April already.
It's also my amazing friend Cindi's birthday...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY girlfriend!

And... it's time for another WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY
challenge at KRAFTIN' KIMMIE!!

Not too much to think about in terms of
a special theme, or type of project, or color scheme
or stamp to use - cause you can do anything your
little ol' heart desires (as long as it's in good taste)!

I have another card to show you using one of
my NEW favorite stamp sets called "A Bit Smart Assy"
Take a look:
Can't you just smell the chocolate cupcakes she is holding?
And seems like some pretty good advice to me...
why stress when you can eat a cupcake (good ol' comfort food)!

I also used another sentiment from this set on the inside
with another piece of good advice (in my opinion)
I definitely like to follow that as often as I can :o)

I'm entering the following challenges:
613 Avenue Create - Challenge #121 w/optional humorous sentiment
Addicted to Stamps and More - Challenge #142 "Make Your Mark"
Brown Sugar Challenges #143 - Anything Goes

Thanks so much for stopping by to visit me today!

I hope you will be joining us this week for Wonderful Wednesday.
Til next time...hugs and happy kraftin'! D

Kraftin' Kimmie Krafty Peek - Words of Inspiration and Anything Goes Challenge

Hello krafty friends and followers!

with the new release peeks so far.

It's also an Anything Goes Challenge from our challenge hostess JENNY!
You can create a card, scrapbook page or altered item with any stamp
but if you use a Kraftin' Kimmie stamp you'll double your chances to WIN!!
Use any sketch, any design, any embellishments because Anything Goes!
We hope you can play along for your chance to WIN
a $10 Gift Certificate to use on ANYTHING you want in the shop!!

So let's get to showing you this INSPIRING new set by artist Becky Pearce.
I just know it's going to inspire you in soooo many ways.
This set includes NINE lovely sentiments - take a look!

AMAZING right????!!!

I have two cards to share with you using
one of the sentiments from this fabulous NEW Release.
and here is the second

I found this great paper and wooden accents at
my local craft store and knew instantly that this
was perfect for what I had in mind for that sentiment.

I went vintage with both of these cards.
I feel like one of these has a more masculine look
and the other (first) has a more feminine appeal.
Although vintage is not usually my go-to style, I love
to occasionally pull out my distressing tool and
ink up the edges for a change of pace.
I've been challenging myself to make more cards
in styles I don't use very often - such as vintage and CAS
and techniques such as special folds and mixed media
(working up my courage on this one still).

I am entering my cards in the following challenges:
Fusion  - my inspiration is the wooden aspect

Papertake Weekly - It's All New
Sister Act Card Challenges #89 - Anything Goes

Are you planning to join us for our LIVE ONLINE RELEASE PARTY!!!
The FUN and EXCITEMENT and PRIZES start TONIGHT beginning at 6pm EST!!
Hope you can come hang out with us!

Below is a listing of all the Krafty Girls and Guests creations using this set.
Leave some love (comment) while you're hopping around because
Kimmie is giving away a gift card and YOU could WIN
some Krafty $$$ to spend at the shop!!!!
{This winner will be announced at the party tomorrow!}
Happy hoppin'!
Thanks so much for visiting me today! Hugs D

52CCT - Pick a Previous Challenge - Santa Claus

Hello friends! Here it is the very last Saturday of the November, 2013.  When there are five Saturdays in a month the 52CCT Week 5 Challenge is to Pick a Previous Challenge - as specified by the hostess.  This time Louise (our November hostess) has selected
Pick A Previous - THEME.
To see all the previous themes that we have done at 52CCT - just look in the Themes Archive.
I had several favorite themes this past year so it wasn't easy to choose - ultimately I picked the April 2013 Theme - Santa Claus/Father Christmas.  Here's my DT card (hope you like it):

Isn't he just a jolly guy?  Every once in a while I get the bug to do some distressing and this was one of those occasions.  I used a Kraft scallop circle base and added a whisper white circle to layer on.  To get the list to go over on the sentiment just a tad, I stamped the hand and list a second time, fussy cut around it and then placed it on top of the original image in the circle.

Fortunately through the 52{Christmas} Card Throwdown Challenge  (52CCT),  I have plenty of cards to send out this year.  Now I need to get some serious shopping done - eek! Most of the people on my list have been nice this year :o)  I won't specifically mention the naughty ones - you already know who you are - LOL!  I do think Santa allows "do overs" though as I've gotten a couple myself in the past :o) (slightly naughty grin).

The other ladies on our fabulous 52CCT DT have also made some beautiful Christmas cards using past themes to share with you as well.  I hope you will go visit them and then decide to join us this week.

I'm also entering the following challenges:
MOJO Monday 321 - Round or Square

ABC Christmas Challenges - X is for Out of the Box (NO square shapes)
4 Crafty Chicks Challenges (4CCC) #170  - Christmas

Thanks so much for stopping by to visit me today - I'm sure glad that you did.  Til next time friends...hugs and happy crafting! D

52{Christmas} Card Throwdown (52CCT) - Technique Challenge #23

Hello friends, thanks for stopping by! Time for another challenge at 52CCT - a Theme challenge to be more specific :o) This week our hostess Louise has decided she'd like us to try the acrylic block stamping technique.  This is one way of creating a very unique background.  You ink up the acrylic block, spritz it with water and then stamp onto cardstock.  How much and how heavy -handed you are with the inking, misting and stamping, produces a different effect.  See what I mean about unique?  I don't think it's likely that you would achieve exactly the same result each time.  Here's my DT card to share with you this week:
It wasn't exactly the effect I was going for. I wanted a yellow glow (heavenly) but was worried that Daffodil Delight yellow wouldn't show up, so I used More Mustard instead.  And..I think I over spritzed a bit.  I also used a fairly large block and that was a bit challenging to ink it up evenly.  Oh boy - not exactly the heavenly glow I had in mind - LOL.  But, as I sat and looked at it, I decided that it could work for a distressed look. Since I didn't start my card until close to 10 pm, I didn't have time to try again  - so the distressed look is what I went for.  I do like it - it just wasn't what I pictured in my head :o)

Will you decide to join us this week at 52CCT for Theme Challenge #23?  It's a great opportunity to try a new technique and  get one more Christmas card done in time to send to your family and friends?  I sure hope so!  The other lovely ladies on the DT have made some gorgeous samples for you as well (I peeked ahead of the post) - please go visit them and see.

I am also entering this card in my DT friend Nonni's Christmas Card Challenge #1 - "Let's get Inky" - Stamp a Happy Christmas, where the emphasis is on stamping.

ATS&M Challenge #65 - Photo Inspiration and Inspired By #90

Hello dear friends and followers - welcome to the month of October and a new month of challenges at Addicted to Stamps and More! (ATSM).  This first week of the month we are starting off with a photo inspiration challenge (see above).  You may take ANY or ALL of the elements in this photo to create something of your own. My inspiration was the gorgeous rust and yellow colors as well as the texture on the baskets.  Take a look at what I came up with:
What do you think?  I'm pretty happy with how it turned out :o)  If you pop on over to the ATSM challenge site you will see that the DT have created with each of our own styles (and inspiration) in mind. How great for me to belong to such talented team of ladies with so many wonderful and different styles.  Oh and by the way... a little bit of news on our DT. We said a sad goodbye recently to Caz and Florence (LOVED both of their styles!) and recruited a couple more lovely ladies who are starting with us this week - Deepti Malik and Deborah Fringes.  I know you're going to love their style as much as I do.

I'd also like to mention that the ATSM Challenge sponsor this week is Ignacio from NiceCrane Designs.
For more information on the prize and our sponsor please click here and you will arrive at the Challenge site.

I'm also sharing my card over at Inspired By - Challenge #90 (see below).  I picked up on the colors of the buttons and the texture of the soxs.

Hope you will decide to play along with us this week!  We love seeing your entries and visiting your blogs.
Til next time... hugs and happy crafting! D

Create 4 Fun Color Challenge 58 (CR84FN58)

Hello friends - happy Tuesday!  I am participating for the first time in the CR84FN Color Challenge which calls for Yellow, Red and a Neutral.  My yellows are So Safron (card base) and Daffodil Delight (sunflower) and my Red is Cherry Cobbler.  My neutral is Early Espresso.  Here is the inspiration photo from CR84FN 58:
I took inspiration from the big flowers in the photos to make my card.  I wanted to try a distressed look for a friend who loves that style, so I roughed up the edges and curled a few corners with my paper piercer.  I also added some ink on top of the embossing and a little around the main image as well as some "splots" of color (maybe a bit too many??) using my color spritzer tool and an Early Espresso marker.   This is not my usual style but it was fun to make.  My husband came up to my craft room as I was roughing up the edges and said "you look like you're having fun." (I really did Create 4 Fun!).  I think my friend will like it. Hope you do too!  Thanks for stopping in to visit me today - I'm sure glad that you did! Hugs!

Supplies (all from Stampin Up!): Cardstock - So Safron, Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso.  Stamp - Sunflower and Petite Pairs (sentiment).  Ink colors - Daffodil Delight, Cherry Cobbler and Early Espresso.  Circle punches - 1" and 1 1/4".  Textured Embossing Folder - Argyle (new).  Buttons - Naturals designer buttons (new).
