Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge #282 - Distress It!

Hello, hello, helloooooo!!!
I'm so happy it's the weekend - how about you?

It's time for another Saturday challenge at
KRAFTIN' KIMMIE STAMPS

Our hostess for Challenge #282 is Tracy and she would like
to see us do some distressing - inking, tearing, or both.
Distressing isn't my "go to" style but I really love to do it
once in a while.  I find it quite fun to rough up and ink
the edges of the papers.  On this particular card I took it a step
further and did a little bit of tearing as I've seen Tracy do so
fabulously.  I might have gotten a wee bit carried away with
that part - but it sure was fun and I do like how it turned out.
Take a look:
The stamp and sentiment are from the Ah-dor-Ahh-ble set
called "Wild About You".  It's definitely one of my favorite
animal stamp sets by far.  The papers came out my older
stash and I punched, then scrunched the flowers to add to this card.
I used Tim Holtz Ranger distress ink around all the edges of the papers.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
Creative Knockouts #28 - Tic Tac Toe
(I used first column - stamped image, distressing and flowers)
The Corrosive Challenge Blog #225 - Anything Goes
Seize the Birthday - Anything Goes Birthday
Simon Says Wednesday Challenges - Anything Goes
The Pink Elephant Challenge #300 - Anything Goes

There are lots of other awesome creations from the Krafty Girls and guests
to see for the KK Challenge #282 Theme of  "Distress it". I hope you will
go visit my lovely krafty sisters and then decide to join us this week too.
Remember your creation can use any stamp, product or project as long as
you follow the theme.  You will have until June 5th at 11:55 pm EST
to get your entries in! You could WIN $10 to spend in the KK shop
(your chances are doubled if you use a KK stamp). Wouldn't that be great?!

Shhh.... can you keep a secret??? I hope not 'cause this is one you might want to
share with your friends.  The Frugal Friday specials are up and there are some
really awesome stamp sets on sales!!! These deals are only good until
Sunday and are limited to stock on hand.  You don't want to miss out!

Thanks so much for stopping in to visit me today - I'm sure glad that  you did!

Catch the Bug Challenges - May Recipe and My Time to Craft Challenge #294 - Domestic Animals

Hello friends - here we are almost to the end of May already!
Today I'm doing double duty posts for both
MY TIME TO CRAFT #294 - Domestic Animals
and a recipe challenge (choose 1, 2 or 3 below)

I chose #1 and the adorable Bugaboo image called Sign It - it's been rough

I used a large polka dot embossing folder for my main background
panel which added texture but kept the card CAS and the focus
on the main image.  Who could look at this pup and not feel better?

I would also like to enter this card in the following challenges:
613 Avenue Create Challenge #125 - Anything goes w/optional
create your own challenge.  I had totally planned to use the optional
challenge (one thing from each column) but realized after I got it
done that I had forgotten to add something from column 4 - grrrr!
The Outlawz Challenges - Monday Greetings - Anything Goes
Crafty Creations Challenges #290 All Creatures Great and Small
Addicted to CAS #64 - code word "Animal"
Simon Says Wednesday Challenges - anything goes

That's all for now folks. Thanks so much for stopping by to visit me today!
Til next time...hugs and happy craftin'! D

Sketch Saturday Week #363 - Digi Stamp Boutique

Hello friends! Hope each of you are doing well.
It's the start of my weekend and I'm hoping that we will
see some sunshine for a couple days!

Today is the last weekly challenge of this month of May.
When there are 5 challenges in a month the last one is
a pick a previous sketch for you.  That means you can
select any previous sketch from #215 - #362 to showcase your
beautiful work at SKETCH SATURDAY.  Pretty cool - huh?!
Please let us know which sketch you are using (as well as an image of it).

We have a wonderful sponsor with us this week

This was actually kind of a difficult decision for me as there
are so many sketches in the archives that I absolutely love.
Ultimately I chose Sketch #252 from March of 2013 (shown below)
and here's my card using "Sweet Bird House"

I used up a bunch of paper flowers from my stash and some
candy dots for the flower centers.  Also did a wee bit of distressing
around the edges of the main image and wood grain panel.
Shocker...I didn't use any patterned paper this time :o).

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:
The Outlawz - Twisted Thursday Challenges "Anything Goes w/twist of AG"
Craftin from the Heart Challenge 61 - Anything Goes
Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges #229 - Anything Goes

I hope that you will decide to join us this week at Sketch Saturday.
Have an amazing week! Hugs D

Kraftin' Kimmie Wonderful Wednesday - A tiny hello!

Oh hello there - happy Wednesday to you!
It's time for another fun WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY challenge
at Kraftin' Kimmie where it's always ANYTHING GOES!

I'm still playing with the absolutely adorable and irrestible NEW
stamp set called "ITTY BITTY FRIENDS" - take a look:

I tried a new technique (well at least it's new to me)
called bokeh - which means blurred or out of focus background.
The white dots are like the spots of light you get in photographs that
are over exposed or out of focus.  I used glossy white paper and
two different blues and a green to create my water.
The bubbles are made with white craft ink. LOVE how it turned out!

Did you notice those wonderful sparkly sequins?  There are lots of
different and fun colors available in the Kraftin' Kimmie store.
Along with a whole bunch of other krafty candy and goodies :o)

I hope that you will decide to join us at Kraftin' Kimmie this week.
We want EVERYONE to be able to play along so your submission
can use ANY stamp and can be any theme, any style, any design
and it can be a card, a scrapbook page, an altered item....you name it!!
It must be a NEW creation and you can enter until June 2nd at midnight!

I'd like to enter the following challenges with this card:
City Crafter Challenge Blog Week #263 - Sequins
The Pink Elephant Challenges #300 - Anything Goes
Papertake Weekly - Take your Pick (mine is color theme Blue & Green)
House of Cards - May Technique Bohek Effect
Addicted to Stamps Challenge Blog #146 - Anything Goes
The Corrosive Challenge Blog #225 "Anything Goes"

Til next time sweet friends and followers...
Hugs and happy kraftin'! D

Humor Me Wednesday at Catch the Bug - Sun Screen Day

Howdy! Thanks for popping in to visit me today!
It's Wednesday which means that it's time for another
Humor Me Wednesday at CATCH THE BUG CHALLENGES.

Did you know that May 27th is "Sun Screen Day"?
Well neither did I until just recently - LOL!
I used the darling image called Beach Baby 2 for my
card today to celebrate this fun "holiday".

I've been having quite a lot of fun with the Doodlebug
"Hello Summer" paper pad lately.  Love the bright colors & fun patterns.
I used my white sharpie pen to add some polka dots to her yellow bikini.
Suddenly that song "itsy bitsy teen weeny yellow polka dot bikini"
is in my head - is it in yours now too?  Sorry :o)

I'm hoping we start seeing more sun here soon and having the
need for using some sunscreen.  Love the rain for my bushes and
trees (and grass) but also love me some sunshine more!

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
(I used patterned paper, sentiment, 2 or more layers)
Clear it Out Challenges: Theme/Girls and Stash/ punches (sentiment)
Crafty Catz - Challenge #280 Kids
The Pink Elephant Challenges #300 - Anything Goes

Thanks so much for stopping in to visit me today!
Til next time...hugs and happy crafting! D

Bokeh Effect Technique

Hi friends! Popping in quickly to share a card I made last week
with my card group using a new technique (at least to me)
called bohek.  I watched a couple videos and followed the tutorial
by Mynn Kitchen on the House of Cards challenge site to make
this extremely FUN card.  Take a look:

I really really enjoyed this technique! I got a wee bit inky
on my fingers but it was totally worth it :o)  I made my own
stencil using a clear window sheet and different size punches
for the circles.  I just kept rotating it around as I filled in the
different circles with white craft ink.  The other colors I used
are Melon Mambo, Bermuda Bay and Crushed Curry (all Stampin Up!).
The die cut sentiment is from Stampin' Up, the sequins are from
Kraftin' Kimmie.  I love how this turned out - it makes me feel happy!

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
House of Cards - May technique - Behek Effect
Happy Little Stampers - CAS Challenge with Die-Cuts/Punches
Seize the Birthday - Anything Goes (no topping)

Thanks for stopping in to visit.  I'm off to spend some time with
my family. Thinking of going to a movie today since it's kind of
cloudy and gray outside today.  Enjoy your weekend! Hugs D

Catch the Bug Challenges - May Photo Inspiration

Hello friends and happy Saturday!
Do you have some fun plans for the Memorial Day weekend?
We are still trying to decide what to do - I'm recuperating after several
days of being ill so am not quite sure what I'm "up" to doing yet.
Our son is home from college for a couple of weeks so I'd like to do
something fun - if the weather cooperates. You never know in Montana.

Any hoo... I'm guessing you are here today to see the newest challenge
at CATCH THE BUG CHALLENGES and it's a goodie.
Come play along with us - there's some awesome prizes to be won!

This week we have a serene color combo for you to try.

Here's my card today using Ava Mermaid

I popped up a couple sections of the waves for a little extra dimension
since I chose to keep the rest of the design fairly simple.  It's hard to
see in the photo but I added some glimmer with my Wink of Stella
pen to the flower and the outfit.  It's quite pretty IRL.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
Sister Act Card Challenge #107 - Anything Goes

Thanks so much for stopping in to visit me today!
Be safe and have fun this Memorial Day weekend.
Til next time...hugs and happy crafting! D

Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge #281 - Get Sporty

Hello again - so happy that you are here to visit me!
It's time for another fun Saturday challenge at

Our hostess for this week is Jenny and she has chosen
"GET SPORTY" as the krafty theme for us.
We always enjoy your creations so be sure to submit them so you
can WIN a $10 gift card to the Shop!!  Anything Goes means you can create
a card, scrapbook page or altered item with a Kraftin' Kimmie Stamp or
any other stamp & be sure to use the THEME on your creation!
You will have until May 29th at 11:55 pm EST to get your entries in!
There's also a great monthly sketch that you could use with the theme if you
are so inclined - or need a little extra inspiration (see the main blog for sketch).

I used Gabby on my card as a thank-you to my daughter's volleyball coach.
These were the colors of their recent uniforms.
I kind of like these colors together and might use them for other reasons too.
I popped up the volleyball with a dimension dot - it kind of looks like
it's floating in the air to me. Does it to you?

I am also entering this card in the following challenges:
Creative Knockouts Challenge #90 - Sentimentally Yours
Cute Card Thursday Challenge #374 School or Sports
Sister Act Card Challenge #107 - "Anything Goes"

Thanks so much for stopping in to visit me today!
I hope to see your fabulous creation in our gallery this week.

Psstt... a little birdie told me that there are some FUN new buttons
and LOTS of them in the KK Store now AND... the FRUGAL FRIDAY
specials are up too! Kimmie has posted some FABULOUS stamps for sale
but only through Sunday.  If the weather is yucky you can go shopping and then
get busy crafting - hehehe!  Til next time...hugs!! D

My Time to Craft #293 - Wild Animals & Sketch Saturday #362 (Bugaboo sponsor)

Hello, hello, and a special hello to Trina!
Hope you are all doing well.
I am just recuperating from a nasty bug that pretty
much leveled me in bed for 2 days straight and another couple
days of recuperating.  It's been a long time since I've been that ill.
As a result, I'm a bit behind in my commenting, so please forgive me
as I make my way around again and start getting caught up.
I was also scrambling a bit to get my DT cards done for
today (it's amazing what the loss of 3-4 days can do to a person).

Fortunately I was able to combine two of my DT challenges today!
The first is for MY TIME to CRAFT #293 - Wild Animals
and the second is for SKETCH SATURDAY #362
where we have a fabulous sponsor Bugaboo.

I'm lucky to be a guest designer for Bugaboo through July
so I was delighted to be able to showcase one of the darling
mini sets called "Tall Jungle Blocks" for the wild animals theme.

Here's the fabulous sketch that I used

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
Tip Top Tuesday - Animal Challenge
Crafting from the Heart - Challenge #60 "anything goes"
Creative Knockouts  #90 - Sentimentally Yours

I hope you will decide to join us this week at both MTTC#293
and Catch the Bug Challenges and maybe add
a couple other fun challenges too (as I did).

Hope your Memorial Day weekend is wonderful - and Safe!!
Til next time... hugs and happy crafting! D

I liked that the paper I used looks like the planks on a deck
where you would barbeque such a big ol' steak.
I kept it very clean and simple today - 'cause it's for my bro-in-law who
doesn't like fancy :o)  but he is a heck of a bbq fanatic and awesome at it!

Catch the Bug Challenges - May BINGO and My Time to Craft - May Sketch

Hello friends - Happy Saturday!!
What a crazy, busy week I had this time -
I guess that helps me be even more grateful that the weekend is here!
Hope you had a good week and have some good, relaxing weekend plans!

Speaking of being grateful...I have a DT card to share with you today that
I made for a wonderful lady who helped me with hemming some pants
for my daughter (because, yeah, I suck at that - can barely sew on a button)
using the terrific sketch this week at  MY TIME TO CRAFT # 292
and the Bugaboo Bingo Challenge at CATCH THE BUG CHALLENGES

Here's my card (hope you like it)

This uses the bottom row of BINGO - (Die Cut, Sentiment, Border)

I used up quite a bit of stuff from my crafty stash on this card
the papers, the button border (and bitty button die cuts), the thread
spools (had them for a long time).  Feels good to use up that much!
(Of course that means I made room for more new stuff too :o) )

Happy Saturday friends!!
I'm still making Graduation cards for the 7 grads (now)

I'm using the awesome new sketch at
to make this one  - take a look:

I used some new Doodlebug papers and a digital image & sentiment
that's been in my stash for quite a long time.
Don't ya love all the different shoes? I would be the one in the
fancy high heels. Well maybe wayyyy back when - now I'd probably
break my neck if I tried to walk across a stage in them - LOL!

Back with us this week as our wonderful sponsor
and here's Sketch #361 (which you can see I
rotated for my DT card above).

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

My Time to Craft #291 - Sympathy

Oh hey...thanks for popping in to visit me today!
Today I have a sympathy card to share with you
for the current challenge at

yet I think that they might be the most appreciated ones to receive.

Here's my card using an older stamp from my stash
and some beautiful blue papers.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:

Catch the Bug Challenges - May Theme "In the Garden"

Happy weekend friends and followers!
Hope each of you are doing well and enjoying your weekend :o)
Today I will be spending time with my Mom and
tomorrow my sweet daughter and I will spend time together.

It's time for another weekly challenge at
and this week the theme is "In the Garden".
I hope that you will find time to play along with us!

I chose the fun image called "JJ gardening" for my card today.

I  must admit that it nearly drove me batty not to have a
sentiment on this card.  But...I just couldn't find one that I
felt fit so I decided to leave it off and now I can make it
whatever I want in the future.  Would make a good summer
"hello" or "thinking of you" card for a gardening friend.

I had a garden years ago. My son was about 4 and he loved to pull
the carrots and radishes out of the ground. He also liked to sneak
the pea pods off the vines when I wasn't looking.
I would really like to have a garden again sometime -
nothing like homegrown goodness as far as I'm concerned.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
613 Avenue Create Challenge #122 Anything Goes w/optional twist Feminine
Brown Sugar Challenges #145 -  Layers
Penny's Paper Crafty Challenges #226 "Anything Goes"

Thanks so much for stopping by to visit me today!
Til next time...hugs and happy crafting! D

Sketch Saturday #360

Good Morning friends!
It's time for another weekly sketch challenge

Back with us this week is our amazing sponsor...
The prize is a $25 gift certificate - whoot whoot!

Here is sketch #360:
Isn't it amazing how fast the weeks fly by?
Here it is Mother's Day already and very soon lots
of people will be graduating from high school and/or college.
We have 6 family and friends that are graduating from
high school next month (hard to believe these babies are that old)
so I decided to make a graduation card with the sketch - take a look:

This card uses the school colors of one of our grads.
She's a sporty gal so I didn't make it really feminine but
used lots of bling with the paper and the stars to match her
sparkling personality.  Hope she likes it!

I hope that you will decide to join us this week for
Sketch Saturday #360.  You can flip the sketch,
make a square instead of rectangle and/or substitute the
oval shape just as long as we can still make out the main sketch.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
Stampin' Royalty #276 - Graduations
The Outlawz - Friday Coloring Challenge - Celebration (any occassion)

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Til next time...hugs and happy crafting! D
