Mermaid Friends!

 Hello!

It's the month of May (it may snow, it may rain, it may be sunny)

and it's a great time to celebrate with Mermaids

(since it's also Mer-May in lots of crafting circles).

I saw the gorgeous color inspiration from 

The Color Throwdown Challenge #793

 and decided that I needed to play along this week.

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps also has a challenge theme

(one of 3 to choose from) that inspired me.  

I used the "Use Bright Colors" theme from that challenge.

Here's my card for these challenges

Although it's difficult to see, I added a spritz

(or 10) of soft, shimmery glitter over the top of the

stenciled panel to make it feel more "magical".

The stamp set, Mermaid Friends, and the 

gorgeous Mermaid Scales stencil as well as the

ink I used (Tranquil Teal) are all from 

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps.

I colored the beautiful mermaid and her sweet friend

with copic markers (BG45, BG53, YR09, YR07, YR04,

V12, V15, V17 and BG 70, BG72).

For a final touch of sparkle, I added some 

gems from Pink Fresh Studios.

Mid-Month Inspiration for Challenge #668 - Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps

  Good morning and welcome to our  

Monthly Saturday Challenge Mid Inspiration Post

This month the challenge themes for you are: 

GLITTER/FOIL, FLOWERS and/or PURPLE!

You can choose any or all - whatever inspires you!

Our Ink Of The Month, which will be on sale all month long, just happens to be a lovely shade of PURPLE!! This month features the gorgeous Alluring Amethyst Ink Pad, Cube and Reinker!!  Grab it now to add to your collection.

In keeping with the themes this month, I chose 

the color purple and the Glitter/Foil options.  

That lovely Alluring Amethyst is such a 

great purple and so perfect for creating

a background for a gorgeous mermaid.

To create this background I used

the Mermaid Scales stencil with

Ocean Opulence, Tranquil Teal

and Alluring Amethyst KKS inks.

Then I used some deco foil gel

and spread it just in a few areas 

so I could use some purple foil. 

Of course I couldn't forget to add

some glitter on the mermaid and around

the edges of the card and sentiment. 

I'm so pleased with how it turned it!

Kraftin' Kimmie Challenges #522 - Under the Sea

Hello Friends - Happy Weekend to you!

I LOVE Saturdays for many reasons but one

 of them is that it's always the start of a new

weekly theme challenge at KRAFTIN' KIMMIE STAMPS!

This week our DT hostess Miss Sabrina has chosen 

the theme for Challenge #522 to be UNDER THE SEA!

My DT creation features the NEWly released

Mermaid Scales stencil  and YOU'RE MER-MAZING!
stamp set.  I used some BoBunny glitter paste through the 

stencil (masked around the mermaid first) to create 

some fun and glittery texture on my background.

Then I added some of the new Underwater Dots

and distressed the edges some.  Really love how 

fun it turned out - and must admit I didn't completely 

miss my patterned papers (sorry not sorry).  

Isn't this mermaid beautiful?! I loved coloring

her hair (and wish I had it on my head haha). 

I used a new silicone paint brush to apply the glitter paste

but honestly think that using a scraper works better when

the stencil has medium to larger spaces to fill.
