Kraftin' Kimmie Saturday Challenge - Use Bright Colors

Wahoo....it's the weekend!! 

Are you as happy about that as I am???
One of my favorite things about Saturday's is that

a new challenge goes up at Kraftin' Kimmie!!

This week our hostess Krafty Gal Peggy would like to see
BRIGHT colors on your lovely creations!
Ohhhhh I love me some bright colors - they make me happy!!

My box card uses Pippi from the NEW February Release called

Book Pals - and lots of bright fun colors. Take a look
(I apologize for the poor photos - I had a terrible time getting a good one):

These box cards are a lot of fun to make!
They fold flat to fit in an envelope and
when the recipient gets the card it literally pops open :o)
Kind of like this...

You can put a little or a lot in the inside sections -
in this case I went with a bit less but it's fun to add
lots of different elements/embellishments too.
I found this paper pack on sale at my local craft store
for a whopping $2.49 and decided to put it to good use.
I fussy cut around Pippi and then realized that she needed
a backing so that the coloring didn't show through the back side.
So...out came the scissors again for more fussy cutting.
Fortunately all of the other shapes on this card are
from die cuts and punches (easy peasy).
You leave a panel on the back for writing your message.

My Time to Craft #281 - Fantasy

Hello!! Hope each of you are doing well!

It's time for another weekly challenge at

My Time to Craft (MTTC).

The theme for MTTC#281 is Fantasy!

Ohhhh... there are so many possible ways to interpret this one.

Dragons, fairies, monsters, witches...you name it

as long as it isn't a reality :o)

Here's my take on this week's theme:

 A very unusual image and style for me but
one I really enjoyed stretching myself on.
I have a friend that I think will love this card
(at least I hope so!).

52CCT February Stash Challenge - Markers

Hello sweet friends! 

I'm a little late with posting my card for 

52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown (52CCT).

Let me just say it's been a week...

and I'm so glad that the weekend is here!!

This last challenge of February at 52CCT 

is to use Markers.  Whoot Whoo LOVE this one!

There are so many different ways to use markers!  

You can color an outline image with them, use them to ink up a stamp

 in several different colors, or create backgrounds with them.  

You can use alcohol-based markers or water-based.  

There are lots of possibilities, so let your creativity be your guide!

My DT card for this week uses copic markers (my favorite type of

markers) to color in a digital image that I've had for quite some time.

One of my other favorite things to do is use non-traditional

colors on my Christmas cards - pink being one of them :o)

I have lots of wonky layers a couple die cuts and a bit of paper piercing.

Kind of happy with how it turned out!

Kraftin' Kimmie Saturday Challenges - Movie Themed

Happy Saturday everyone!!

Do you have any special plans for the weekend?

It is cold and snowy here today
(so much for that major case of spring fever I've had)

so I'm hoping to spend some good time kraftin'.
That is one good thing about yucky weather ;o)

It's time for another Saturday Challenge at 

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps!!!

Our hostess this week is Alexis and she has chosen a
MOVIE Theme for us to use this week.
This is perfect for the NEW Release stamps
from Lord of the Rings (Galadriel and Gandalf) but
there's also a few other stamps in the Kraftin' Kimmie shop
that work great for this theme too.  Such as Mary Poppins!!

 I LOVED that movie as a kid.  Several years back
we took our kids to Disneyland.  I saw Mary Poppins
and said "Oh look kids, it's Mary Poppins!!!"
"Do you want to go get a picture with her?"
They both said "Who's Mary Poppins?"
I was CRUSHED...and suddenly felt like a bad Mom
that my kids didn't know about Mary Poppins - LOL!
So I dashed on over and got my picture taken next to her :o)
We have watched it since and they loved it too!
