This week, Krafty Girl Rosie is your hostess and her challenge theme for you is:

EMBOSSING!

Embossing is one of my favorite techniques and yet
one that I often forget to do!  When I learned how
to emboss with stencils, it created a whole
new love of embossing for me!
My card today features dry embossing with
the Holly stencil and heat embossing for the berries
of the holly leaves and sentiment.

After running the stencil through my Big Shot
die cut machine to get this awesome raised image,
I put the stencil back on the panel and used the
NEW Original Olive ink to brush over the
top of it.  It creates kind of a 3D effect.
I masked off the little berries while I was inking
the leaves and then used VersaMark clear
embossing ink through the stencil and added
some glittery red embossing powder.
I love how it has kind of a vintage feel
with a bit of bling!
Here's a closer look at the embossing:

I hope that I've inspired you to join our challenge
this week and share your own creation
using the theme of embossing.

And guess what??? This is also one
of the challenges for our special
World Card Making Day celebration
in the Kraftin' Kimmie Friends Facebook Group!

Keep reading for a special offer below!!

Image may contain: text

This is such an adorable cat and halloween set. Look at those big eyes!
No photo description available.

My peek card features a couple of these not so spooky kitties
and the NEW BATS & MOONS STENCIL.  I ran the
stencil through my die cut machine to get the embossed pattern
on the back ground piece.  I almost hated to cover up so much
of it with the top panel because it turned out so fun.

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Sneak Peek DAY ONE!

Oh my goodness I'm so glad that you are here because....
it's DAY ONE of the fabulous sneak peeks of May for

I am over the moon for this month and I think you
are gonna love it too! Especially today if you
are partial to the SEA!!!

The theme is UNDERWATER and we are kickin' things off
with THREE FIN-tastic new designs to inspire you
from artist, Annie Rodrigue!

First there are TWO new stamp sets featuring BRAND NEW MERMAIDS!
Each stamp set has several super cute and funny coordinating sentiments!
They SHORE are beautiful and they are called

 and TREENA TWINKLES!

Annie has also designed the perfect BACKGROUND stamp set
to go with these new mermaids and many other summer stamp sets
OR to just use it by itself!!
How gorgeous is this underwater scene called THE OCEAN!!?

I combined The OCEAN background stamp and the
SERENA APARKLES stamp to create this fun card.
I wanted to make the coral and plants look like they were
moving a bit in the water so I double stamped the image.
I used various distress ink colors for the watercolor effect.
You can't see it very well in the photo :O( but I added
some wink of stella on her tail and fins and face.
It's very pretty IRL.  Sometimes I wish I was a mermaid :o)!

I'd like to enter this in the following challenges:
(I used dry embossing on the botton panel and heat
embossed the main image and background scene)
The Alphabet Challenge Blog - E is for Embossing Folders

My Time to Craft #277 - Bugs and Insects

Howdy sweet friends!
Time for another fun challenge at My Time to Craft (MTTC)
and this time I get to be the hostess for MTTC #277
with the theme of Bugs and Insects.
No need to be afraid - bugs and insects can be quite cute -
like this little fella - take a look:

I've had this lovey bee colored up for quite some time
just sitting on my craft desk waiting to be put on a card.
I actually colored it before I started taking the coloring
classes at Kit and Clowder and I can now see that
my shading is a bit off (but at least it's consistently off) - lol!
Still a super cute image - don't you agree?
My son's sweet girlfriend loves bumblebees so this was made
with her sweet self in mind.

I'd like to enter my card in the following challenges:

I found this embossing folder in my stash and felt it was
perfect for both this image and sentiment.

52CCT - November Theme Challenge "Christmas Window"

Hello and happy weekend!
We've had several cold days in a row here
which makes me want to just cuddle up and eat comfort food.
I'm planning to make a big batch of lasagna
this weekend to enjoy with my favorite wine.
I might even watch a movie and just completely "chill"
Ha haha - did you get my play on words?
Doesn't that sound heavenly?

So enough about that...how about a
look at my DT card for the challenge
this week for 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown (52CCT).
52CCT November Theme Challenge is "Christmas Window"
and here's my card:

I kept the style clean with minimal embellishments so that
the brick embossing would stand out behind this
super cute Santa peeking through the window.
I wonder...does he come through the window
when there is no chimney?

I am entering this card in the following great challenges:
Stamping Sensations - November challenge - Simply Christmas
Crafty Catz Challenge #255 - Christmas is Coming
Christmas Cards All Year Round - November - No patterned paper
Alphabet Challenge Blog - T for Traditional Christmas
Addicted to Stamps and More! Challenge #121 - Anything Goes

Did you notice that we are having a DT call over
at 52CCT?  We are looking for several Christmas
card crafters to join the team.
It's a great way to keep Christmas in your heart
all year and have a nice stash of Christmas cards
to send out by November.

Thanks so much for stopping by to visit today.
Please go visit the rest of the lovely ladies at 52CCT

52CCT - November Color Challenge

Hello dear friends and followers.
The clock is ticking down to Christmas...
are you making cards to send out?

With the help of my DT duties on
I have a good stash ready to go already :o)

This second week of November 2014
the challenge at 52CCT is a Color Challenge
take a look:

The colors are Red and Green (very traditional)
and your choice of either Gold OR Silver.
You can use cream or white in addition to the colors
and black for outlines of images - but other than that
please stick to the colors noted.

I had kind of a crazy week that didn't allow for much
crafting so I kept to a CAS style card - here it is:

I found a stamp set in my basket that I had never used
with this tree on it and the thought for my card
popped right into my head.  I added some left over
gold enamel dots (love these things) to the tree
and a strip of embossed card stock to represent snow.
Quick and easy this week :o)

I am entering my card in the following challenges:
Christmas Cards All Year Round - No Patterned Paper
Addicted to Stamps and More! - Photo Inspiration

Please go visit my lovely DT pals over at 52CCT to see their
lovely creations for this Color Challenge.
I hope to see your card in the gallery too!
Til next time...hugs and happy crafting! D

Christmas Charm - 52CCT November Sketch & MTTC #265 "Charmed"

Happy weekend sweet friends and followers!
This week the stars aligned for me creatively and
I was able to combine my two DT challenges into
one card. Kind of nice when that happens :o)

I'm in a Christmas mood and getting very, very close
to having my stash of Christmas cards done
and ready to go for 2014 - yay me!

If you are just getting started on your Christmas cards
for the season these two challenges might give your
creativity a jump start.

The challenge this first week of November at
is this fabulous sketch

and the challenge at My Time to Craft (MTTC)
is "Charmed". So for MTTC #265, We want to see
a charm on your beautiful creation.

Are you ready to see how I combined these two challenges?
Here it is:
Digital image by Sassy Cheryl's Stamps - "Snow Much Love"

If this image doesn't make you say "awwww"
I'm not sure what's wrong with ya' - JK :o)
Seriously though I came across it and just couldn't resist it.

I decided to do something a bit unusual for me
and use neutral and warm colors rather than the
bright and somewhat non-traditional
colors I seem to favor.

I used a new embossing strip that I got free
recently with my purchase of a cardmaking magazine.
Really love how this turned out!

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Creative Card Crew #73 - Bows
Festive Friday #43 - photo inspiration

Jingle Belles Challenges - Not a Creature was stirring
Penny's Paper Crafting Challenges #201 - Anything Goes
The Outlawz - Friday Coloring Challenges - AG w/Christmas twist
Sassy Cheryl's Neighborhood - November Challenge - AG

I hope that I've inspired you to play along with us this week
at either/or 52CCT November Sketch Challenge
& MTTC #265 - Charmed.
My lovely and talent DT pals at each of these challenges
have made some amazing creations to further inspire you.
Won't you go visit them and see?
Thanks so much for stopping by - I'm sure glad that you did.
Til next time...hugs and merry crafting! D

My Time to Craft #261 - Die Cuts w/Sentiment only

Oh boy...we made it to the weekend! Yippee!
What special plans do you have?
I'm want to craft my little heart out...
but I do have a lot of cleaning and laundry
that probably should take some priority.
Sigh...so it goes.

But...here's a bright spot...it's time for another
weekly challenge at My Time to Craft (MTTC)!
MTTC Challenge #261 is to use Die Cuts with a sentiment only.
The challenge - should you decide to accept it...
is to use only die cuts on your card.
The only stamping we should see would be for a sentiment -
so get out those fabulous (perhaps neglected) dies and get to crafting!

Here's my card to share with you:

I have always loved dies! There are so many things you can do with them.
For this challenge I made a shaker card - whoo hoo!
The shaker frame and sentiment are both dies.  No stamping at all.
To make the shaker frame I used 2 different sizes of the star die.
I made my own confetti by adding some little bits and pieces that I had
left over from other projects (stars & trees) and some gold sequins.

This was a fairly quick card to make but it definitely will need to be
hand delivered or sent specially due to the shaker frame.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Merry Monday #128 - Use stripes, polka dots or both
The Crafter's Cafe challenge #84 - Use Punches and/or Die Cuts
Virginia's View October Challenge - CAS

My lovely DT pals at MTTC  have also made some gorgeous
creations to inspire  you to play along.  Please go check them out too!

Til next time...hugs and happy crafting! D

Christmas Greetings!

Hello friends!
After I finished my chores last night I sat and did some
browsing through my favorite challenge sites to see what I've
been missing lately.  I came across a couple that I just couldn't
resist this week - so I quickly put together this card to play along:

Please ignore the crooked sentiment - arghh!!
I stamped it the first time and it was way off - so I flipped the
panel over and tried again and I still got it a bit off.
I even used my Stamp-m-Jig but I must have been had my head tilted.
In any event - I didn't want to waste the cardstock
so I decided that the crooked sentiment would just have to
add some "homemade" charm to the card - ha ha!

As soon as I saw the sketch at The Paper Players Challenge #215,
I remembered that I had these left over snowflakes from a previous class project.
They were just perfect for this - take a look

I also used the colors from The Challenge #15 (Always Playing with Paper)
which is one of my favorite color combos - especially for Christmas!

And last but not least...I'd like to enter this at 4 Crafty Chicks - 4 CC #213
where they want to see a Trio of Pairs (3 pairs of snowflakes).

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
Til next time...hugs and happy crafting. D
