Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Challenge #559 - Red & Green OR Purple & Blue

Welcome to my blog on this last Saturday of November 2020.
Does that sound as odd to read as it did for me to type?!

Saturday always brings a new weekly theme challenge

Our hostess this week is krafty gal Allison and she has
chosen a fun color combo theme for you.
Challenge #559 is to Use EITHER
Red & Green OR Purple and Blue.

For my DT card I went with the Red & Green combo
and used the super CUUUUTE BELIEVE IN YOUR ELF
clear stamp set (colored with copic markers).

I so adore the look on this mischievous elf's face.
And the reindeer seems to be thinking "oh boy we're
in for some ride" LOL.  This image is as fun to color
as it is to use on Christmas cards!  The photo
doesn't show it very well but there's red foil
cardstock around the base and on the word die.

If you have been doing some Black Friday shopping
you can also take advantage of a super sized
FRUGAL FRIDAY in the KKS Shop.  LOTS
and LOTS of great bargains for  you.
Here's a link to help you get there - you're welcome!

We sure do hope that you'll join us this week and
enter your own Red & Green OR Purple & Blue
creation.  Maybe you'll make one of each!  You
can enter as many times as you wish - just link up a NEW
creation each time.  There's a monthly prize of $25
for those who play along.  You might be the lucky
one who has some Krafty $$ to spend on yourself!

So off I go for now! Hope you are having a great
weekend and enjoying some peace and good health
going into the Christmas month.
Thanks for stopping by! Cyber hugs! D

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Challenge #501 - Black & White Only

Good happy weekend crafty friends!

Today is the first challenge of October
(where has the year gone?) and the theme for
CHALLENGE #501 is "BLACK & WHITE ONLY".

I was intrigued and pushed a bit by this challenge
as I love color so much.  But hey...that's what
challenges are for, to help us stretch our creative
muscles and try something new.  So, I looked
through all my KKS stamps and realized that
there were many that would work nicely for
this theme but I settled on an image from
POLAR PALS.  Take a look:
The whole image is colored with copic markers in different
series of the blacks/greys.  The polar bear is colored with
the T series, the penguin bodies are colored with the
N series.  It actually looks very striking IRL.
As a last touch I added 3 black dots from the
SPOOKY DOTS series (also from KKS).

I am also entering my card in

October is a very special month at KKS
as you might see by the banner below.  TEN
awesome years to celebrate.   This weekend
we have some awesome deals for you ! Hope you
find some krafty products you've been wishing
for in this SALE.
Image may contain: text
I hope you will join us this week for the challenge.
I can't wait to see how you interpret the B&W only theme!
Thanks for visiting me! Krafty hugs! D

I tried a different skin combo with my copics to create a
suntanned look and am happy with how it turned out.
The beach is one of my favorite vacation spots but to
be honest I also really wish I lived by a sunny, sandy beach...
I'd be there every day!

FMS167 and City Crafter Week 242 - Christmas tree

Hello friends!
Are  you almost ready for Christmas?
I have a couple more gifts to get yet
and need to sit down and address
envelopes to send my cards out.

I have two more cards to make for the season
so I chose the great sketch at Freshly Made Sketches
to help me get 'er done.

This card took me forever to make!! I thought I'd just
whip it together but I really struggled with it.
I think it was because it was outside my normal
"cute" with lots of bright colors style.
But it is good to stretch ourselves sometimes
and the person I had in mind for this card
is not a "cute" card person :o)

I'm also entering this card in the following challenge:
City Crafter Challenge Blog Week 242 - Christmas Color challenge

Thanks for stopping by to visit me today -
I'm sure glad that you did.

Til next time friends...hugs and merry crafting! D

52CCT - November Color Challenge

Hello dear friends and followers.
The clock is ticking down to Christmas...
are you making cards to send out?

With the help of my DT duties on
I have a good stash ready to go already :o)

This second week of November 2014
the challenge at 52CCT is a Color Challenge
take a look:

The colors are Red and Green (very traditional)
and your choice of either Gold OR Silver.
You can use cream or white in addition to the colors
and black for outlines of images - but other than that
please stick to the colors noted.

I had kind of a crazy week that didn't allow for much
crafting so I kept to a CAS style card - here it is:

I found a stamp set in my basket that I had never used
with this tree on it and the thought for my card
popped right into my head.  I added some left over
gold enamel dots (love these things) to the tree
and a strip of embossed card stock to represent snow.
Quick and easy this week :o)

I am entering my card in the following challenges:
Christmas Cards All Year Round - No Patterned Paper
Addicted to Stamps and More! - Photo Inspiration

Please go visit my lovely DT pals over at 52CCT to see their
lovely creations for this Color Challenge.
I hope to see your card in the gallery too!
Til next time...hugs and happy crafting! D

Christmas Greetings!

Hello friends!
After I finished my chores last night I sat and did some
browsing through my favorite challenge sites to see what I've
been missing lately.  I came across a couple that I just couldn't
resist this week - so I quickly put together this card to play along:

Please ignore the crooked sentiment - arghh!!
I stamped it the first time and it was way off - so I flipped the
panel over and tried again and I still got it a bit off.
I even used my Stamp-m-Jig but I must have been had my head tilted.
In any event - I didn't want to waste the cardstock
so I decided that the crooked sentiment would just have to
add some "homemade" charm to the card - ha ha!

As soon as I saw the sketch at The Paper Players Challenge #215,
I remembered that I had these left over snowflakes from a previous class project.
They were just perfect for this - take a look

I also used the colors from The Challenge #15 (Always Playing with Paper)
which is one of my favorite color combos - especially for Christmas!

And last but not least...I'd like to enter this at 4 Crafty Chicks - 4 CC #213
where they want to see a Trio of Pairs (3 pairs of snowflakes).

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
Til next time...hugs and happy crafting. D

52CCT - September 2014 Color Challenge {Warm Winter Wishes}

Hello dear friends and followers - happy weekend!
This 2nd week of September our hostess at 52CCT, Asha,
has chosen a terrific COLOR Challenge

To help you interpret this chart we want you to use
Red  OR  Blue  +  Black  AND  White  +  Silver  OR  Gold.

You may use various shades of Red (such as burgundy, poppy, crimson, scarlet, excluding pink) OR Blue (royal blue, sky blue, cornflower blue, navy excluding purple).

We have a fabulous sponsor this week again - Deedee's Digis -
and some of the team will be using digi images on their cards.

I chose to use Red, Black and White and Gold
with one of Deedee's darling images called "Snowman Tags".
Take a look:

I did something that I seldom do...
hand wrote my sentiment.
Hmmm...not too sure about that part, but it's done so I'll be okay with it.
Thankfully I'm happy with how the rest of the card turned out :o)

I'm entering the following challenges with my card:
MOJO Monday #362 (sketch)
Holly Jolly Christmas Challenge Choose R or E or D
(My R is the color red, E for embossing and D for die (heart))

The rest of the lovely ladies on the 52CCT DT  have made some wonderful
Christmas creations using Asha's color challenge.  I hope that you will go
visit them to see what they've done and then decide
to link up your own beautiful creation.

Thanks so much for visiting me today!
Til next time...hugs and merry crafting! D

52CCT August Color Challenge

Hello friends, hope each of you are doing well!

This week at 52CCT our hostess Gill has chosen a very elegant
color combo for us to use.

Here's my DT card for this week:

I'm still wearing the splint on my thumb and searching for creative ways
to continue crafting and keep up with my DT responsibilities til it comes off.
Fortunately for me I had these die cut ornaments and punches snowflakes
in my stash pile just waiting for me to use.

I stamped my sentiment in the middle of a larger piece of ivory cardstock
and then embossed it.  I wanted to have lots of room around it to
cut it down as I'm doing what little stamping I can do with my left hand
and it usually is crooked :o)

The rest of my lovely 52CCT DT pals have made some
gorgeous Christmas creations with Gill's color combo.
Please go visit them and say "hi" and then link up your
own fabulous creation to share with us.

Thanks so much for visiting me today.
Til next time...hugs and happy crafting! D

Here it is - hope you like it :o):
