I'm a MOJO Monday #235 Winner!!

Hello! I'm so excited to share the great news that my entry in the Mojo Monday #235 Challenge was chosen as one of the winning entries!!!  I'm feeling so lucky this week after an absolutely wonderful 47th birthday on Monday and then to be a winner of a Verve stamp set today - whoo hoo!  Maybe I should go buy some lotto tickets.  Anyway ... here is my card and thanks so much to everyone at the MOJO Monday challenge and Verve stamps - you are awesome!

Paper Creations Ink! Challenge #22 Natural Materials

Hello! I have created this card to participate in Paper Creations Ink! Challenge #22 "Natural Materials (burlap, twine, cork, twigs, leaves, etc.)"!  I used a wood sheet for the main layer and the sentiment tag.  I also used some natural linen thread and sticking with the "Natural" theme I chose the Lovely As A Tree stamp for my main image.  This picture really doesn't do this card justice it is so much nicer in real life.  After I finished it I was almost surprised at how gorgeous it turned - simple and understated but elegant too somehow (if elegant is the right word to use for a masculine card that is).  I enjoyed this challenge - thanks design team at Paper Creations Ink!  Hope you enjoy today's card and thanks so much for stopping by!

Details: Finished card size is 5 1/2" x 4 1/4".  I cut a piece of the wood sheet with my paper cutter (its very thin and almost fragile) and glued it to the cardstock base of textured Always Artichoke.  I stamped the image on the DSP and heat embossed the image.  Then I used my finger daubers to add the color to the sky, ground and trees. I stamped the sentiment on the wood sheet and then punched out with the Modern Label Punch (119849).  I also punched another piece using Old Olive cardstock and cut it in half to layer behind the wood sentiment.  I wrapped the linen thread around the DSP (layered on a piece of Always Artichoke textured cardstock) several times to get the thicker effect then glued the layered sentiment on top of that.   

Supplies (all from Stampin' Up!):  Cardstock - Always Artichoke. Wood Sheet (116309). Patterned Paper - Frostwood Lodge (retired from Holiday Mini). Linen thread (104199).  Inks - Chocolate chip, Soft Suede, Sahara Sand, Old Olive, Always Artichoke, Bashful Blue and Marina Mist. 

Merry Monday #15

Hello and Happy Tuesday!  It's time for another Merry Monday Challenge - #15 to be exact - based on the sketch below. 

As soon as I saw this sketch I knew exactly the stamp I wanted to use. Don't ya just love when inspiration immediately strikes you? I sure do.  Anyway... gonna make it a quick post today as I have to finish up some taxes for my family before the April 15th deadline.  Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy today's card!

Supplies (all from Stampin' Up!): Cardstock - Whisper white, Real Red and Baja Breeze.  Patterned Paper - Pocketful of Posies (122354) and Candy Cane (retired). Sweet Snowglobe (120868). Sentiment - Contempo Christmas (118734 wood or 120594 clear).  Basic pearls (119247) and Dazzling Details glitter glue.  Ribbon is from my retired stash .  I colored the stamp with my Stampin Write Markers to get all the different colors (Real Red, Old Olive, Chocolate Chip and Sahara Sand).

Anything Goes for Mo's DP2 & Divas by Design Challenges

Hello and Happy Monday!  Today I am entering this card in two great challenges:  Mo's DP2 Challenge #129 - "Anything Goes w/a Mo's Image" and Divas by Design  Challenge 29 - "Anything Goes".  I printed this darling image by Mo Manning a while ago because it reminded me so much of my daughter who loves to cook and bake. I am happy that I have the opportunity to share this card in these two challenges today.  By the way... the Divas are celebrating their 1st anniversary too - Congratulations to them! 

Here's a little closer look at this cutie patootey:

As you can see, I fussy cut around the image and created the saying on my computer as I just couldn't find anything that seemed the fit the card.  Inside I put "thinking of you".  I've decided I'm going to send this to my very busy sister that I haven't heard from in a while.  I think it will make her smile - and just maybe she will give me a call (kind of sneaky of me but hey, if it works...).

Pals Paper Arts #132 & Freshly Made Sketches #29

Happy Easter Every Bunny! How appropriate that my card has the saying it does on it today since I usually start each post with a Hello of some sort.  So... since my card says the first part I'll say the rest... "I'm happy you hopped in to visit".  Today I am entering this card in two great challenges the Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge 132 and Freshly Made Sketches #29. 

I love to combine a color challenge with a great sketch, it just really helps jump start the creative process for me.  My Patterns Designer Series Paper Stacks really came in handy for this challenge for the different patterns to showcase - I used Certainly Celery and Pretty in Pink from the subtles collection and Chocolate Chip from the Neutrals collection.  The cute little flower stickers are from the hostess only set called Cheerful Treat.  I colored my Hello Flower image (now retired) with my Stampin Write Markers (love those things) using Certainly Celery, Pretty in Pink and Chocolate Chip.

MOJO Monday Challenge #235

Hello again friends!  I'm lucky to be able to and share two posts with you.  This is the card I made to enter in this week's MOJO Monday Challege #235.  Sometimes I look at the sketches provided and decide to flip them or use some other element - but this time I decided that I liked the sketch so much I was going to follow it just as it is.  I'm using the new Summer Smooches DSP which is now available to my customers on a pre-order basis between April 1st and the 30th.  Isn't this just so bright and fun?? I really love it! And as you can see, I loaded up on using most of the colors in the paper provided - they just coordinate so well together that I couldn't help myself. Supplies (all from Stampin' Up!) and Details:  Cardstock - Tango Tangerine, Whisper White and Lucky Limeade.  Patterned paper - Summer Smooches - now available - check out my demonstrator website.  Stamps - Pursuit of Happiness ( 121907 wood or 121970 clear) and the hostess only set Array of Sunshine (little flower).  I punched the little leaves for the flower accent using my Blossoms Petals Builder punch (121808) and the yellow middle is an eye from the Owl Building Punch (118074).   Ink color for the flower and sentiment is Rich Razzleberry (115658).  The scallop border is from the Scallop Border punch (119882).  I used the 2 1/2" circle punch (white) #120906 and the 3" Circle sizzix die for the orange layer (122125).  I cut the flag on my 2" piece of orange DSP by hand using the dots as a guide to meet up in the middle (clever - huh?)  And fussy cut the little purple flower with my handy dandy paper snips (and my readers).

Merry Monday #14

Hello Friends!  Today I plan to play for quite a while in my crafty room - yipee!  Lesley at Always Playing with Paper has yet again come up with another fun sketch for the Merry Monday Challenge #14 (how does she keep coming up with these ideas week after week?).

I have been rolling ideas around in my head for this card all week but when I finally got to sit down and create I decided to reach for my favorite cute snowman and this is what I came up with for this weeks entry.  No pink this week - actually more toward the traditional Chrismas colors (my daughter likes it :o) ).   Can't wait to see what Lesley comes up with next Monday.  I encourage you to check it out -  its a lot of fun to play, and the bonus for me is that when Christmas rolls around I will be more than ready with my cards!   Hope you enjoy todays card and thanks so much for stopping by!

Ribbon - 1/8" taffetta in Old Olive (119256).  Stamps - Snow Much Fun (122560 wood or 122562 clear) and Teeny Tiny Wishes (115370) for sentiment.  I used my corner rounder (119871) on the crumb cake layer behind the snowman and my 2 1/2" circle punch (120906) for the image.
