Paper Players Challenge #83 - Masculine CAS

Today I am participating in the Paper Players Challenge #83:  Create a Masculine card with a Clean and Simple theme.  So... how's this for a CAS Masculine card?  I asked my 11 year old daughter if she liked this card and she wrinkled up her nose and said "It's okayyyy.  It's kind of plain".  However, my husband and son both like it - so I guess I achieved my goal - LOL.

Details for today's card:  All products are from Stampin Up! and can be purchased on my demonstrator website (www.daniellevincent.stampinup.net)
Cardstock:  Night quite Navy, Crumb Cake, Riding Hood Red, Sahara Sand and Early Espresso
Designer Series Paper:  Well Worn - #122359 (one of my favs for masculine cards)
Stamp: Bring on the Cake (#121899 wood or 121958 clear)
Ink:  Chocolate Chip (#100908 classic) on the image and sponged around around the edge of image piece with Soft Suede (#115657 classis) and a finger dauber.
Other:  a brad from regals collection (#119737) on the sleeve, and the Square Lattice texture folder - #119976) (for the red and brown pieces to give good depth and texture to the card).

Hope you enjoy today's card.  Thanks for stopping by!

  2. This is a great card--what a cool sketch and of course, that DP is wonderful for masculine cards! Just the fact that your daughter thought it was too plain should prove that it is just right for a guy! Thanks so much for playing with us this week at the Paper Players!

    1. Thanks so much Nance! This challenge was a good one for me as I struggle with masculine cards and had already personally challenged myself to make more cards in this theme this year (other than the traditional Father's Day card once a year :o)). This was the perfect excuse to jump start that promise to myself.

  5. Hi Danielle! Awesome "guy" card! The layout is really cool and that Well Worn DSP is so perfect for masculine cards. I actually forgot I had it until I saw your card. Haha! THe pop of texture realy adds a lot to the card without distracting from the clean design. Love it! Thanks so much for joining us this week at the Paper Players! :)
