Kraftin" Kimmie Stamps - May NEW Release Peeks DAY ONE

Whoo Hoo!  I'm so excited that  you are here to visit me
because it's DAY ONE of the fabulous sneak peeks for
the May release at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps.

This month is so fantastic I can  hardly believe it myself!
The first set we have to show you has so many sweet
little images and lots of ways that it can be used.
It's called BUGS & KISSES by new artist Melissa Baker-Nguyen!
We are so excited to add her to the KKS team and can't wait for you
to see her unique flair in our new stamp sets!
This fun set features lots of cute little bugs, accessory stamps,
sentiments and of course a fabulous jar to put them in!!
There is a total of THIRTEEN awesome stamps in the set!
I am totally in LOVE with this set!

I used my mini Misti (my birthday pressie from my kiddos)
to line up my stamps, then I embossed everything on
watercolor paper.  This is colored with Zig Clean Color
markers.  I fussy cut a few extra leaves and popped them
up a bit around the bottom. A last step was to add some
glitter glue around the little lightening bug's bums
for their special glow :o).  Someday I hope to actually
see a lightening bug.  Have you seen them before?
I wonder if they are as adorable as these guys :o).

I'd like to enter this in the following challenges:
twist of Use 5 of Something (I have 5 red hearts)

Thanks so much for visiting me today.  Please go visit
my lovely DT pals and guests (links  below) to see what
they have to share with you today too!  Hugs! D

Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge #341 - Summer {Buds and Blooms & Butterfly Dreams}

Happy weekend crafty peeps!
We have an exciting weekend planned.
My first niece is getting married today!!
So amazing and exciting and a little sad that
she is already old enough to be married!
Also my son got home last night for a week's visit
so we will be cramming in as much fun as we can
over the next few days with him.

Today a new Saturday challenge begins at
KRAFTIN' KIMMIE challenges
and the theme this week is  "SUMMER".

Oh how perfect is that?!  Our summer so far
has been very mild - especially for July.

I made this card to share with you today using
clear stamp sets - take a look:

Once again I used the spotlighting technique
by only coloring some portion of the images
so they really stand out.  Isn't this color
combo just lovely?  It sure feels summery to me!

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenges -Things with Wings
Dragonfly Dreams Challenges "Anything Goes"
Outdoors at Sweet Stampin' Challenges

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps - March NEW Release Sneak Peeks DAY FIVE and Anything Goes challenge

Welcome back for the final peek at the new release of clear stamps!
Today we have an elegant and very beautiful NEW clear
stamp set by artist Becky Pearce to show you.  It's called
"BUTTERFLY DREAMS" and it's absolutely stunning!

This set has so many gorgeous elements to get creative with PLUS
a bunch of lovely sentiments for a total of THIRTEEN stamps!

Just wait 'til you see this in action in the hop.....you won't believe
all the amazing things you can do with it!

It's also Challenge Day and our hostess is Krafty Girl Jessie!
The challenge is Anything Goes (as it always is during release week)
so create a card, altered item, scrapbook page with any stamp
BUT if you use a Kraftin' Kimmie Stamp, you'll double your chances to WIN!
Use any sketch, any design, any theme because anything goes!

Here's my creation to share with you today:

I've been itching to play with my new distress inks after watching
a video by Jennifer McGuire on this technique that basically washes
away some of the color from the image and then adds others back in.
I started by embossing the beautiful butterflies and then added
two different blue distress inks with the felt pads until the
entire white panel was covered.  Then I began the washing process
(adding water with a brush to the image) and then used some other
colors and water colored them into the image. I was absolutely thrilled
with how this turned out! And it was so much fun to do!!

I'd like to enter this in the following challenges:
Try it on Tuesdays #105 Nature (butterflies)
Creative Fingers Challenges #105 - Always Anything Goes

I hope that you will join us this week with your own lovely creations!
At the end of the month we'll announce a winner from all the creations
submitted for the month of March! We hope you can play along for your
chance to WIN a $20 gift card to the krafty shop!

If you loved the stamps from this release the GOOD NEWS is that
all of them will be released THIS AFTERNOON!
Be sure to join us at the LIVE Online Release Party
beginning at 2pm EST!  Come celebrate the NEW release
check out lots of krafty kreations, have a chance to win some prizes
and just have fun with Kimmie and the Krafty Girls!
Hope to see you there! Happy hoppin'!

'ABC' Challenges - Sketch & Crazy4Challenges (C4C174) - Texture

Hello dear friends and blog followers! So nice to have another person join me - hello Deborah :o) . Time for another weekly challenge over at All Beautiful Cards ( 'ABC') Challenges, which is a sketch challenge (see below).  Isn't it awesome?

I flipped - or maybe its more like reversed, the features of the sketch for my card - but I think  you can still see the basics of the sketch.  Here's my card:
This card is a bit outside of my normal style. I'm not really sure that I have a definite set style yet, at this point as I'm still messing around and trying all kinds of new things. But this is a style (rustic - I think, and nature themed) that is something I seldom do. I really like it though - how about you? Here is the inside - kept it simple since most of the sentiment was on the front and wasn't sure how exactly it would be used. Perhaps its just a "hello" or "Thinking of you" card, or it can be a "hang in there card" or a masculine birthday card, or a father's day card giving Dad permission to go take some time to himself.  Oh sorry - got side-tracked by myself - here's the inside:
I am also entering this card in Crazy4Challenges #174 (C4C174) - Texture, Texture, Texure.  My card has texture from the woodgrain embossing folder, the tattered edges and the sponged buck.

I used the sketch this week from 'ABC' Challenges to make this card for a card exchange group that gets together once a month with a specific challenge each time.  This month's challenge was a cue word. Can you guess what my word was? It was "mountain".  It doesn't immediately jump out at you - but I think of mountains as peaceful and full of gorgeous creatures of nature.  I enjoy hiking in the mountains with my son.  When I'm hiking though I hope to avoid the wildlife - just be at peace with the beauty of nature.

I hope you will decide to join the challenge this week at 'ABC' Challenges. Please go visit the rest of the DT members and see their beautiful cards - you'll be glad that you did. Did you know that 'ABC' Challenges is now on Pinterest and Facebook?  Check it out!

P.S. The first card I made I tried to encompass the word "mountain" more literally.  This card didn't even pass the 12 yr old daughter test (she told me it looked kind of like something a school kid would make - but she was careful to say that she didn't want to "hurt my feelings" - lol). I'm going to be brave and show you the first card just because I think it's fun to see that even crafter who practices all the time can struggle sometimes and make a card that they aren't absolutely thrilled with.  Here it is... be kind won't you? It's really not horrible -but I do need more practice with making mountains :o)
Welll - that's enough for me today.  Thanks for stopping by to visit me - I'm so glad that you did!  Til next time... Hugs and happy crafting! D

Addicted to Stamps and More! Sketch Challenge #3

Oh my how time flies sometimes! Here it is another week and time for another fun challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More! I must say that the past two challenges have been so fun for me to see what you are creating.  It's a thrill for me to to visit your blogs and leave you notes - so many wonderful ideas and creations based on our challenges.  I can't wait to see what you do with this week's sketch (see below) that has infinite possibilities!  You can keep it clean and simple - you can dress it up - you can add lots of layers - do a monochromatic color scheme or add lots of patterned papers - all kinds of possibilities.
Here's what I have chosen to do with it this week (some of you may already know that I am a patterned paper fanatic - so of course I had to use a couple different ones today):

Fall has arrived in Montana in all its splendor! I love this time of year - crisp cool night and mornings with warmer (but not hot) days.  Sometimes we get a blustery wind that picks up the leaves and moves them around.  I love the sound of them swishing in the wind and crackling under your feet as you walk through them - just lovely!  I attempted to make my leaf look like a real leaf that you might see on the ground with its wrinkled edges - so instead of using my usual embossing texture folder I decided to just rumple it up in my hand and leave it all wrinkled and imperfect.  I gave the edges just a slight hint of extra color with a sponge too. What do you think - does it sort of remind you of a real leaf that you might see blowing across the ground?

I'm sure glad that you've stopped by to visit me today.  I hope you have enjoyed this card and that I've inspired you to go grab your supplies and make something wonderful to share with us at Addicted To Stamps and More!  If you want some more inspiration all you have to do is pop on into the challenge site and then go visit each of our fabulous DT members.  I promise you will be inspired and awed at what they have done with this sketch - I was!! I said a couple times "Gosh...why didn't I think of that?"  or " Cool - gotta try that".  I'll bet you catch yourself talking out loud too :o)  Til next time - Hugs and Happy Crafting!

I'm also entering this card in the Sweet Stampin Challenge - Autumn/Leaves - seems as if someone else loves this time of year too!

Supplies (all from Stampin Up!):  Cardstock - Cajun Craze and More Mustard.  DSP - Orchard Harvest. Leaf is created using the Autumn Accents Bigz Sizzix Die and my Big Shot machine (favorite tool ever!).  Sentiment is from the hostess set called Wacky Wishes (stamped in Cajun Craze ink).  Other: a wood naturals button and some hemp twine finish off the card.

FMS#48 {A Peaceful Scene}

Hello friends, a quick post for now and then off to bed I go - stayed up wayyyy toooo late last night scrapbooking and then my doggies got me up at the crack of dawn when the boys went fishing.  I wasn't too thrilled about getting up so early after such little sleep but then I open the door and here are two little tails wagging and butts a-wiggling so I couldn't stay mad.  I remember feeling that way when I'd see my son's tiny face when he would wake me up at o' dark hundred each day (and sometimes several times at night).  Ahhhh...sleep - it's over-rated - LOL!

Anyway... back to the card at hand.  This card is made based on the sketch by Tui (who got the idea from her sons) at Freshly Made Sketches (FMS#48):

I chose not to put a sentiment on the outside because I think it is just so peaceful the way it is. I added just the slightest bit of sunshine rays in the upper corner (do they show up in the pic?) to bring in the yellow from the DSP on the side and to simulate the feeling of warmth and peace (I Love to sit in the sunshine and just reflect).  I stamped the image in Staz-On Black ink and then colored it in with a blender pen and ink(s) - Wild Wasabi, Tango Tangerine, Island Indigo and Soft Suede.  The DSP is called International Bazaar and the stamp is from a hostess set called Summer Afternoon (so appropriate - don't you think?).  I also used the new Fancy Fan Embossing folder for the texture on the card base.

Hope you enjoyed this card - I had fun making it!  Thanks so much for stopping by to visit!  Til next time - Hugs!!
