Guest Designer - Critter Crazy Challenge Blog #61 - Anything Goes with a Featured Critter

Hello crafty friends!  Happy first day of April.

This month I get the honor of being a guest designer
for the Critter Crazy Challenge Blog! No fooling!

That means you can make ANY kind of creation BUT the main
focus must be an animal - real (feathery, furry, scaley, or an insect),
or fantasy (dragons, unicorns or teddy bears for example).
If you are a lucky winner of this challenge (like I was)
you'll have an opportunity to be a guest designer in the future.
There's so many options and possibilities featuring critters -
I can't wait to see what you make and share with us!

My card features a couple furry friends on a road trip.

I used products from several of my favorite
crafting companies on this card:
Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps - Tire Tracks stencil
Taylored Expressions - Clouds stencil, Oreo ink and Confetti Cake ink
LDRS Creative - grass die strip
Gina K Designs - Friend die cut
MFT Stamps - Sun die

I'm also entering this card in the following challenges:
Mine is a Song - On the Road Again by Willie Nelson

Thanks so much for popping in to visit me today!
Hope your day is extra special - crafty hugs! D

Guest Designer - Krafty Chicks Challenges #448 - Coffee, Tea, Cocoa

Hello!  Today is my last week as a Guest Designer
What a fun month this has been for me!
Thanks to all the Chicks for having me in the hen house.

The theme this week is near and dear to my heart
I love all three of these things but most especially
Coffee.  I'm not even human in the morning until
I've  had at least 2 big cups of joe!
Then I usually have a cup of tea with honey before bed
to relax me and unwind.
Cocoa and buttered toast is a favorite snack at my house
(especially in the winter).
So as you can now tell, this theme is definitely in
my wheel-house.  For my last guest designer card
I chose a super cute set from Your Next Stamp
called Sprinkles - Coffee and Tea for this challenge.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
Just Us Girls - Photo Week #480

I was inspired by the birthday theme
(what goes better with cake than coffee or tea?)
Sketch Saturday Week #556

Your Next Stamp Fun Friday Challenge #110 - Pastels
Jo's Scrap Shack Fun Friday Challenge #274 - Always Anything Goes
STAMPlorations March Challenge - Stamps & Coffee/Tea

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenges - Anything Goes (3/27)
Little Red Wagon Challenge #490 - Hop to It!
Mod Squad Challenges - Pastel Fun

So that's all from me today! Thanks so much for
taking the time to stop in and visit me! Hugs! D

Guest Designer - Krafty Chicks Challenges #447 - Polka Dots

Happy Thursday all!  This month is just rolling right along
for me.  I can't believe it's already the third week of my
Guest Designer spot for the KRAFTY CHICKS CHALLENGES.
I'm having lots of fun with the great challenges this month
and getting totally inspired by the DT creations too.

The theme for Challenge #447 is... POLKA DOTS
Ohhh I LOVE this one!

Here's my card using a fun Bugaboo Stamps digital image

Not only are there polka dots on the floaty horse,
there's also a bunch of tiny dots in the background paper.
The sentiment is from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps.
Oh how I long for summer and warmer days!

I'd like to enter this card in the

Please go visit the challenge site and see what the
Krafty Chick DT has made to share with you too.
I hope to see your creation in the gallery this week!

Guest Designer - Krafty Chicks Challenges #446 - Shades of Green Only

Howdy!  Hope you're having a wonderful day!
This is my second week of Guest Designing for
the Krafty Chicks Challenges.  Such an honor
to be playing with the talented Chicks!

The theme for this week -  Challenge #446
is Shades of Green Only.

My brain literally went straight to shamrocks and
St. Patty's Day because of the holiday (there is not
one tiny little bit of Irish in my DNA), but you could
also interpret this as Spring or nature (trees/grass etc.)
The trick is that we ONLY want to see shades of green
- no other colors except neutrals and skin tones.

I found this Doodlebug Designs paper in my stash
and colored and die cut some adorable Silly Monsters from
Your Next Stamp for my Shades of Green card.
I stamped each image in a light grey ink instead
of the traditional black for a no-lines look.
Aren't they funny?!

I'm also entering this card in the following challenges:

I hope that you'll decide to play along with us this
week and show us how you interpret the
Shades of Green Only challenge.
The Krafty Chicks DT have some
really awesome green creations to share
with you so go check them out too!
Thanks for visiting me today!  Hugs! D

Guest Designer - Krafty Chicks Challenges #445 - Babies

Hello friends and followers - I'm happy you're here to visit me!
I'm delighted to be a Guest Designer for this month over
at Krafty Chicks Challenges.  Thanks Chicks for having me!
The theme for the first challenge of the month

Now I'm wayyyy past the having baby stage but fortunately
I have some younger friends and coworkers who are
having little bundles of joy soon.  I'm so excited for
them!  I love to make baby cards and I love squeezing
babies even more! Maybe they'll let me hold their
sweet little ones while the open their cards - lol!

Here's my card to share with you.  It's a little bit non-traditional
for a baby card but I think it's fun - and perfect for a baby boy!
The mama is actually a friend of a friend, so I don't have to
worry about her seeing it before it's given to her.

The stamp set is called Wild World by Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps,
the papers are from my stash (finally found a great way to use them).
I colored with copic markers and filled in the nooks and wrinkles
of the skin with prisma color pencils.  Isn't this rhino adorable?!

In addition to participating as a guest designer, I'm also
entering this card in the following challenges:
I LOVE layers! The more the better as far as I'm concerned!
I really struggle with one layer cards - layers just seem to
add so much interest (in my opinion) and make me feel happy.
I've been trying to do more CAS cards because I do love
the look of them but I really struggle with them.  Honestly,
the fewer the layers the longer it takes me to put a card
together - LOL.

Thanks for stopping in to visit me!  Pop on over to the
Krafty Chicks Challenge blog and take a peek at the
DT creations for your inspiration this week!  Hugs! D

Crafting by Designs - May 3rd "Anything Goes" - Guest Designer

Hello lovely friends!
Is your week going well so far?  Have you had any time to be crafty?
For me...in some ways I think "wow it's finally Wednesday"
and then I think "oh my goodness it's already Wednesday"!
Do you know what I mean?  So it goes sometimes :o)

I'm happy you are here to visit me today!
A while back I entered Challenge #114 "For A Man"
at CRAFTING BY DESIGNS and my card was one of
the ones chosen as a Top Pick.  To my delight I was
asked to be a Guest Designer for a future challenge.
Of course I said "yes" and today is that day :o)

The Theme this week is ANYTHING GOES
which is super easy and fun!  Always a favorite of mine.
I made this card for my daughter's boyfriend recently.
He's a football player and loves the Denver Broncos
(as do I !).  I thought this was perfect for him.
The main image is from a stamp set called ALL STAR
(by Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps) and the sentiment is from
a set called Stay Strong (by SugarPea Designs).
Those number stickers have been in my stash for years
(literally).  I bought them with some scrapbook layout
in mind but had never used them.  I'm honestly quite
surprised that they stuck to the card (hope they are
still sticking on there - lol)!

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Thanks so much to the Crafting by Designs DT for
having me as a guest this week!  Please come
play along with us too.  I can't wait to see what you make!
Hugs! D

Hello and happy weekend!
Today is the last week of my
Guest Designer month at
It's been such a fun month and
I'd like to thank the ladies for
having me with them!

of  August 2016 is "Upcoming Holiday".
We'd like to see your cards for one of
the many holidays coming up soon.
What holiday is your favorite to craft for?
I love both Halloween and Christmas.

I've been pressed for time this week so I went with a
quick design that uses a piece of patterned paper
and a large sentiment stamp.  Then I added some
ink distressing around the edges.
Viola!  A quick halloween card done!
Supplies: patterned paper (retired Stampin' Up!)
Sentiment from Spook-Tacular Sentiments
by Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Hello friends and followers!
It's time for another great challenge

I'm really enjoying my month of being
a Guest Designer with this talented group!

This week there's an awesome sketch.

and here's what I did with it

That adorable owl is from the brand NEW stamp set
called Happy Owl-oween and the the sentiment
is from the set called Spook-tacular Sentiments
(both from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps).  The paper
is from Doodlebug designs and those cute buttons
have been in my stash for a while just waiting to be used.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Crazy4Challenges C4C349 "Back to School Time"

Howdy and thanks for stopping in to visit me!
There's another new challenge starting today at
and the theme for C4C349 is "Back to School".

We'd like to see you make a treat for a kid going
back to school, or a gift for a teacher or anything
back to school related for this challenge.

I made a scrapbook page layout of my daughter who
is not looking forward to her summer ending and
lots of homework again.  She is, however, excited to be
a Junior this year and being that much closer to being done
with high school and on her way to college.
I imagine teachers aren't exactly looking ready to
the end of this month either - lol! I know lots of parents
though that are quite excited :o) :o) :o)

I've had this paper in my stash forever.  I think I bought it
a while before my son graduated in 2012. In fact everything
on this page is from my old stash - except for the photo.
It's kind of bittersweet to have made this layout.
I'm so excited for her as she enters this new year of
school and gets closer to heading for college. But also so NOT
ready to realize that soon I'm going to have to let her go.
I will cherish each of these next two years.

What will you share us this week?  I can't wait to see!
There are some amazing creations by the C4C DT
and Alexis Crossland-Smith (a fellow guest DT) this week too.
Go to the main blog and see - then go visit and say "hi"
won't you?  We love to hear from you!

I'd like to enter this in the following challenge as well:

Happy weekend to each and every one of you!
Hugs! D

Your Next Stamp - Feature Day - Shaped Card

Hello friends - thanks for stopping by to visit me today!
Today is a special day for me as it is my husband and
my daughter's birthday.  He's gotten very used to sharing his
birthday with her and always says that she was his best present ever.
I do think they share a special bond because of it.

It's also my my last post as an April Guest Designer
for YOUR NEXT STAMP.

This challenge is to make something other than an A2
(standard 4 1/2" x 5 1/2" sized) card.  I  make lots of
square cards but seldom make shaped cards.
Not sure why as I have lots of layers dies that work
wonderfully for this style of card.

I pulled out those dies and got busy making this fun little creation
with an adorable stamp set called "Spring Birds"

Aren't these little birds so tweet?? Sorry - I couldn't help myself!
Doesn't this sentiment make you want to break into a song?
"Rockin Robin" comes to mind for me.
I used lots of fun layers and a little paper piercing to add texture.
I snipped the very end of the bottom tip off so the card will stand up.
The overall size is approx 5 x 5 3/4" so it will fit in a 6x6 envelope.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Come and Get it Challenges - Things that Start with "B"
Crafty Creations - #287 Seeing Spots
Papertake Weekly - Cute as a Button
Addicted to Stamps - Challenge #141 Anything Goes

I have so enjoyed this opportunity to share my creations
using these wonderful stamps and being part of this
amazingly talented and creative group!
Such a blessing for me! Thank you Karen and YNS Team!
'Til next time friends...hugs and happy crafting! D

card using a couple sentiments from the fabulous new set
by Becky called "Make a Wish"
anddddd...here it is:
 here's the inside

hmmm...can you see the tiny bit of sparkle on the flame?
Doesn't seem to show up as well in the photo as IRL.

I wanted it to work for either a guy or gal so
I used bright colors and didn't get too "girly"
with extra accents. But...I couldn't resist
adding a couple of real candles - just for fun :o)

My Time to Craft Challenge #241 - Bear(s)

Howdy friends!  Happy weekend to you!  I've had such a fun time this month making cards for the weekly challenges at My Time To Craft Challenges and would like to thank the lovely DT for having me as a guest designer and asking me to stay on.  So Awesome!

I took spring break vacation from work this week and have been spring cleaning as well as making some cards.  Are you ever absolutely amazed at what you collect over a period of time?  I thought I had done a pretty good clean out of my craft stuff about a year ago - but somehow I've either managed to completely replace it (hmmmm... wonder how that happened) or it has multiplied.  If I could just resist patterned paper that would be half the battle :o)

So, you are probably wondering why I made a Christmas card with the spring weather right around the corner (finally!).  Well...the MTTC Challenge #241 is to use a bear or bears on your creation.  I remembered that I had purchased this fun digital image from Your Next Stamp while ago and then didn't get around to using it right away. Plus...I love to make Christmas cards no matter what the weather :o).

It's been a while since I made a step card and I saw that the March challenge at Christmas Cards All Year Round is to make a Christmas themed step card, so I thought I'd give it a go.  I like how it turned out and I used up some of my paper stash in the process (bonus).

I'd also like to enter this card in Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge Extra - March Anything Goes and Completely Christmas Challenge #5 - Anything Goes.

The MTTC DT have made some really wonderful creations to share with and inspire you.  I hope you will go visit them and leave a little love.  And then promptly dash to your craft area and make something to share with us this week with a bear or bears on it for MTTC Challenge #241.

Thanks so much for stopping by to visit me today.  Til next time...hugs and  happy craftin'! D

My Time to Craft Challenge #240 - Mother's Day (or cards for a special lady)

Hi there - so happy that you've popped in to visit me today.  I have some exciting news that was announced last week...the lovely ladies at My Time to Craft Challenge Blog asked me to stay on as a permanent DT member.  I can't start full-time until September but I'm SO EXCITED to be part of this team.

This week for MTTC #240 we'd like you to make a Mother's Day card - or a card for a special lady
I chose to make a Mother's Day card - take a look:
I am lovin' this woodgrain stamp (it's so realistic looking)!  I used a die cut to make the hole in the tree for the owl to peek out of.  I took the piece I cut out and put it behind the main panel to continue the wood look.  Then I used a sponge dauber to make it look a bit darker from the inside.  Pretty CAS and sweet. I think my Mom will like it :o)

The lovely ladies at MTTC have made some wonderful creations for your inspiration this week. Please pop on over and say "hi" to them (here).  I hope you will decide to join in the fun this week. I can't wait to see what you make!

I'm also entering this card in the following challenges:
4 Crafty Chicks Challenge #186 - No Patterned Paper
Papertake Weekly - for Mum (or a Girlie)

Til next time friends...hugs and happy crafting! D

My Time to Craft Challenge #239 - Charming (use a charm)

Hello dear friends and followers - so happy you've decided to come visit me today!  Time for another weekly challenge at My Time to Craft Challenge Blog.  For MTCC #239 the DT want to see you use a charm somewhere on your creation.  Here's my Guest Designer card to share with you this fine weekend:

I used a starburst technique that I taught my card group a while back on this card.  It's a great technique to either showcase or use up some of your patterned paper stash.  I wish I could tell you that this paper was from my stash but the truth is I fell in love with the flowered paper when I saw it and then searched to find the perfect image to use with it.  Come on admit it... I bet some of you have done it :o).   The blue jean looking paper is from my stash though so I'm not completely hopeless - lol.

I hope you will decide to join us this week at MTTC Challenge #239 - Charming.  The MTTC DT ladies have made some gorgeous creations to share with and inspire you. Please take a moment to go visit them and say "hi".  It's always nice to spread a little love don't ya think?

I am also entering this card in the following challenge:
Creative Card Crew - 57 Charms (use a charm)
Sister Act Card Challenge #57 - Anything Goes

Til next time friends...hugs and happy crafting! D

My Time to Craft Challenge Blog - Challenge #237 - Cats and Dogs

Hello friends - so excited to share with you today that I was accepted as a guest designer on the My Time To Craft Challenge Blog for the month of March. Whoo Hoo!!  What an honor for me to craft with this DT - thank you :o)

So... the first challenge of March is - "Cats and Dogs".  The lovely DT would like to see you use cats and dogs - both or either - on your crafty creation.  I have stamps or digital images of one or the other but nothing with both together - so I went with a cute little dog. Take a look please:

A sweet lady who is part of my card group is having a baby in May.  After having two darling daughters she and her hubby decided that it might be fun to be surprised and they aren't going to find out if this new baby is a boy or girl until it's born.  I have a feeling (or maybe it's a hope) that this time she's going to have a boy, so I made this card with her in mind. Why do I hope for a son for her?  Well...I have been blessed to have one of each myself and I think it would be really fun for her to have a little boy after having two precious girls.  I've so enjoyed having the experience of a son and a daughter (so different).  It's just the best of both worlds and they are the very best of friends.  Never fear though - I do have another one in mind to quickly put together if she has another girl :o).

I stamped the little puppy on crumb cake (kraft) cardstock and then colored with copics.  That's the first time I've done it and I really like how the color turned out.

I hope that you will decide to join the My Time to Craft Challenge #237 "Cats and Dogs".  The MTTC Design Team members have made some gorgeous creations to share with and inspire you as well so please pop in and give them a little love - and then link up for goodness sake so we can see what you did too :o)

Thanks for stopping by to visit me today. Til next time...hugs and happy crafting! D
