Paper Players Sketch Challenge #84 - from LeAnne

Here is the card I made to enter in  The Paper Players Sketch Challenge #84 - from LeAnne.  I really love the element of 3 on this sketch.   I kept it monochromatic - which is a personal challenge for me as I honestly don't think I have done this before (I always seem to feel I need to add a second or third color to complete the card), but I do really like the way it turned out.  Of course it helps that Melon Mambo is one of my favorite pinks (so very versatile). Great sketch LeAnne - thanks for the opportunity to play with the Players!

Aren't the little hands just absolutely precious (there are some darling little feet prints too in this set)?  I absolutely fell in love with this stamp set as soon as I saw it.  If you scroll down to my earlier post from today you will see another sentiment and the feet that are also part of this set.

I used my Melon Mambo Stampin Write Marker to ink up individual words from a couple different sentiments in this set and then used my Large oval punch to create the 3 elements/accents for this card.

For a tiny touch of pink bling I used the darling pink rhinestones (2mm size) that are exclusive to the Blossom Builders kit (#125410) available in the Occassions Mini Catalog (until April 30th).  Soon I will be sharing some samples that I am making using the wonderful textured die-cut flowers from this set.

Thanks for stopping by - I hope you have seen something that inspires you!

All supplies are from Stampin UP! and can be purchased directly on my demonstrator website (see the Shop 24/7 link at the top of my blog).

Details:  Cardstock - Whisper White,  Patterned paper - Cheerful Treat (#122381 - hostess only item), Ink and marker - Melon Mambo classic ink (#115656) and Stampin Write Marker (#121074)
Stamp sets - Baby Prints (#125470 wood or 125472 clear) available until April 30th in the Occassions Mini catalog and Perfect Punches (for bottom sentiment) #117022 wood or #120516 clear, Ribbon - 1/8" tafetta Pretty in Pink (retired), Punches - Large oval (#119855) and Modern Label (#119849)

My card measures 6 3/4" x 3 1/2" which is a fun size and fits nicely in the Stampin UP! Small open end envelope (#107286).

Its A Girl!

Hi there - I initially made this card to enter in Paper Players Sketch Challenge #84 - from LeAnne.  But then as I looked at the sketch again I felt that I had strayed just a bit too much from her great sketch.  I did incorporate the three elements, but that was about it.  So... I decide to try again, but I really did like how this one turned out so I'm glad I made it.  Guess I was just listening to my inner creative voices (LOL).  Aren't these little hands and feet just darling? Enjoy!

Some More Mojo Monday

Hi again, as I mentioned I went a littel crazy with the Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge #229 (see my entry post from yesterday) and made several cards using the sketch.  These are some of the other cards I made and want to share with you.

This card will be going to my Sister-in-law Jan.  As you can see I'm late with her birthday wishes (darn!) but she is getting a really fun card since I saw this sketch to use :o)

This will be a fun card so pass around at one of my workshops coming up.  I like how it shows an alternate use of the patterned paper by snipping out an image and making a whole new coordinating element.  Love the tiny pop of pink in the corner.

I'm usually a "follow the rules" kind of gal but this image just called for me to "flip" the sketch and try something a little different with it.  This will be the card for my up-coming Easter workshop.  It will be fun to show the ladies how to "paint" the image using the ink refills and blender pens.  I'm so glad for my Sizzix and texture folders - best investiment I made so far.  Just a subtle thing that adds so much to a card.  I really love that ribbon from the Sale-A-Bration freebies.  It has such a pretty sheen and just adds a touch of instant elegance to everything I use it on (the Calypso Coral is beautiful too).

Hope you have enjoyed these cards too!

Mojo Monday #229

I was so inspired by the Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge #229 that I made 5 cards today using it.  Here is the one I settled on as my entry for this challenge.  It's little different from what I would describe as my usual style (I think overall I am mostly a Clean and Simple kind of gal) - but I really liked how it turned out.  There is a small deviation from the sketch but it has all the elements.  Hope you like it!  Check out the Mojo Monday site and see if it inspires you as much too.  This is a sketch I can see myself using many times.  Another bonus with this sketch is being able to use up some of those paper strips (mine are 1" on this card but they could be thinner and spaced further apart too) that we all seem to accumulate but aren't quite able to throw away (LOL).  Thanks for visiting me!

The details for this Sketch challenge (all products are from Stampin Up!):
Cardstock: Whisper White (40 sheets to a package - #100730)
Patterned Paper: Attic Boutique (available until April 30th in the Occassions Mini - #125407)

Sentiment: Messages for Mom (#11706 wood or 118580 clear)
Ribbon: 1/8" tafetta ribbon in Early Espresso (#119959)
Ink: to "dirty it up" a little (and on the sentiment) - Chocolate Chip (classic #100908)

Paper Players Challenge #83 - Masculine CAS

Today I am participating in the Paper Players Challenge #83:  Create a Masculine card with a Clean and Simple theme.  So... how's this for a CAS Masculine card?  I asked my 11 year old daughter if she liked this card and she wrinkled up her nose and said "It's okayyyy.  It's kind of plain".  However, my husband and son both like it - so I guess I achieved my goal - LOL.

Mo Manning's Challenge #122 - My Sentiments Exactly

Hello!  I created this card for Mo Manning's Challenge #122 - "My Sentiments Exactly".  I found this darling little boy named Eli and his dog irresistable and had to use them for this challenge.  I thought the saying was very appropriate for the image.  It is inspiring to watch children play.  They often take what they have and use their imagination to make something new.  If only we didn't lose so much of our imagination as we get older.  This also reminds me of my once "little" boy who used to love to play in boxes.

Anyway... enough sentimental stuff.  The details for this card challenge are:
Digital Image:  Mo Manning's Eli - http://www.digitalpenciltoo.com
Coloring Medium:  Copic markers for image (various) and Stampin Up markers for sentiment (not quite navy and cajun craze)
Cardstock and Patterned paper:  Stampin Up (Not Quite Navy, Cajun Craze and Very Vanilla - cardstock and Well Worn designer series paper)
Sentiment: Stampin Up - Perfect Words (hostess set)
Twill - Stampin Up
Mini brad - Stampin Up
Die cut shape - Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels 8

Paper Players Challenge #82

This is my first time submitting a card for the Paper Players Challenge #82.  The colors for this challenge are Poppy Parade, Pool Party, Very Vanilla and Soft Suede.  I substituted Calypso Coral for the Poppy Parade and Whisper White for the Very Vanilla in today's card.  I used a masking technique to place the darling cherub perfectly within the heart.  Hope you enjoy today's card!  Wish me luck!

Products used for this card are all from Stampin Up! and can be ordered directly from my website: www.daniellevincent.stampinup.net/shop - please see list below if anything grabs your attention :o)

Cardstock base: Calypso Coral -from the 2011-2013 in-color collection (#122925 or #124329(assorted color collection from this group))
Whisper White cardstock (for cherub and border) #100730
Patterned paper: Everyday Enchantment (Sale-A-Bration special "FREE" with a $50 order - see my SU website for more details).
Hearts and border made using the Heart to Heart punch (#119881) and the Scallop Trim border punch (#118402).
The trinket heart and Pool Party bakers twine are from our the Stampin Up! Occassions mini catalog (I apologize that I can't seem to find my copy for those numbers but you can also find this on my SU website).
Stamps: Valentine Love - cherub (#122697 clear or #122695 wood) and Sweetheart - Be mine heart (#120780 clear or #120415 wood).
Inks:  Calypso Coral (#122939 Classic), Soft Suede (115657 Classic), Blush Blossom Stampin Write Marker (#100037) for cherub's skin.
Other fun stuff: Using the VersaMark marker (#100901) I lightly filled in the cherub's wings and then added some Iridescent Ice (#101930) embossing powder and heat set with my Heat Tool (#100005) for a light shimmer effect to the wings (doesn't show up too well in the photo but its quite nice) and last but not least I added a little depth by sponging around the white cardstock piece using a finger Sponge Dauber (#102892) and some more of the Calyspo Coral ink.

Happy Valentine's Day

I started this simple, masculine and fun card for my husband today by adhering a square of the Sweet Shop Designer Paper (from the Stampin Up occassions mini catalog) to a piece of whisper white cardstock (#100730), and attaching those pieces to a card base using Poppy Parade cardstock (#119793 - also in the in-color (2010-2012) collection pack #119797).  The circle is stamped with Island Indigo classic ink (#122937) from the Take a Spin stamp set (wood - #121937 or clear #122015), then perfectly punched out with the 2 1/2" circle punch (#120906).  Then I added a sweet little heart in the middle from the small heart punch (#117193) and a game spinner hand (#121893)- note: I also colored the heart in the circle using my Stampin Up watercolor pencil.  A few finishing touches by scattering some more of those cute poppy parade hearts around and adding a button brad from vintage trinkets (#118764) to the bottom heart and Viola! done in about 10 minutes and soooo cute.

All products mentioned above can be purchased from my Stampin Up website at www.daniellevincent.stampinup.net/shop now.  Thanks for stopping by.  Happy Valentine's Day.

A Vanilla Scented Birthday card

Here is a card I made from the Sweet Shop collection in the new Stampin Up Occassions mini catalog.  What you can't "smell" is the wonderful scent of vanilla from the new vanilla scented embossing powder.  Simply Sweet.  I will post details of the card soon.  Thanks for stopping by!
