Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Challenge #536 - USE A STENCIL

Hello to you and happy weekend!
Today we are kicking off another weekly
challenge theme at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps.

Challenge #536 from krafty gal Melany is
to USE A STENCIL.

There are so many awesome stencils
available from KKS that it was difficult for me
to make up my mind on which one I wanted to use.

But then inspiration struck and I knew that the
TRIPPY TRIANGLES stencil would be perfect with
this adorable ice cream cone stamp from the
newly released WHAT'S THE SCOOP? clear stamp set.
The background panel was first inked with a combo
Then I lifted the stencil and went over the whole
panel again with the new Sandy Shores ink and a
blending brush.  Makes me think of a waffle cone - YUM!

Now it's your turn to jump into the challenge this week.
Pull out your stencils and have fun making a
new creation to share with us!  You have all week to
participate and can enter as many times as you like
(just make sure it's a new creation each time),  It's not
a requirement that you use KKS items but we love when
you do and you get double the chances to win the
monthly prize of a $40 gift certificate to the KKS Shop!

Wanna WIN - then you gotta PLAY (big smiley face)!
Thanks for stopping by to visit me today.
There's some links below to more of our krafty DT
who have Stenciled Creations to share with you.  Enjoy!!

June Release Blog Hop Celebration - Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps

Hello friends! Today is the day we celebrate
the fantastic products just released by
Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps!
Image may contain: text

Have you been following along with us as
we've been sharing each day?  Do you have a
favorite from the release - or do you
LOVE IT ALL like me??!

All the new products are now available in the store
and ready to jump into your shopping cart!
You can purchase them individually or ALL of them
at once as part of a specially priced GIMMIE KIMMIE KIT
(but these go fast and are only available for a limited time).

As a quick recap for you the NEW stamp sets are
WHAT'S THE SCOOP! by artist Neda Sadreddin

UNDERWATER FUN! by artist Cheryl Grant

& TURTLEY AWESOME! by artist Becky Pearce

There are also TWO new stencils -
a beautiful brown hybrid ink - Sandy Shores
and more enamel dots - Seashore Dots!

My card for the hop features What's the Scoop!

I stamped my two images with the Sandy Shores ink
and then colored them with copic markers.
As a last touch I covered the tubes and sunglasses
in glossy accents.  Here's a close up of it

And here's one more close up so you can see the
dimension around the edge of the card for the
pool (which I inked with Granite Grey).
For the pool bottom I used Salty Sea, Granite Grey
and Mermaid Melody hybrid inks through the
stencil.  I started with the lightest color and kept
adding the other colors until I had the effect I wanted.
The sentiment is stamped on the diving board.

So I hope that you have a refreshing or rejuvenating
beverage and maybe a snack with you as you
settle in and hop around to the blogs of the rest
of the Kraft DT.  They have LOTS of awesome
creations made from this release to share with you.
Enjoy the day peeps! Happy hopping and shopping!

Masculine and Monochromatic

Hello friends - thanks for being here to visit me.
Lately I've been better at coloring images than
I have at getting them on finished cards.
Do you ever go in spurts like that?
A few weeks ago I colored this awesome guy image
in a sepia monochromatic style (using copic markers).
I finally got it on a finished card for my husband.
I told him it's celebrating our anniversary (end of March),
his birthday (end of April) and for Father's Day.
Hey...one of three occasions on time - and even early
for one isn't too bad right?!?  He said he was impressed
that I didn't wrap 4th of July into it too. LOL!

Here's the finished card - I'm really in love with the
monochromatic effect of this.  (I used copic markers).
Sadly I had a terrible time getting a good photo of
this today with the gloomy weather.

Stamp sets used are Good in the Woods
(main image) and the stars in the background
and sentiment are from Party Time Sentiments
(all from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps).

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
Thanks for taking the time to stop in. I hope you'll leave
a quick comment and say "hi" as it really makes my day.
Crafty (social distanced hugs)! D

Graduation Celebrations - Happy Thoughts

Hi again - I'm back with a second post for the day.
We had a whopping six graduates this year between our
family and friends.  I was wayyyy behind remembering
that this was coming up (and honestly kind of shocked
because I still can't believe that some of these young
people are "old" enough to be graduating) and hadn't made
the cards yet.  So I started with some fun themed papers
and looked for some sketch inspiration that would help
me keep the design fairly quick and easy to replicate.

Here are two of the cards I made - both using the
currently weekly sketch from Freshly Made Sketches,
papers from my stash and two awesome stamp sets
by Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps called YOU'RE A HOOT
and HAPPY THOUGHTS (sentiments).

I've included a close up of each card too

I'm entering these cards in the following challenges:
Your Own Patterned Paper.   Mine is of course
the actual kind pulled from my embarrassing large
patterned paper stash.  I bought several sheets of this
6 years ago and am now down to two 12 x 12 sheets left.

and Freshly Made Sketches #438 where I found
my inspiration for the design.

Thanks for letting me share with you again today!
Hope the rest of your week(end) is lovely. D

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Challenge # 534 - TEXTURE

Hello krafty peeps - happy weekend to you!
We have a new theme challenge starting today at

Each and every Saturday we post a new challenge and
you have all week to enter as many times as you'd like.
Each entry must be a NEW creation and you're welcome to
use any stamp set - but if you use a Kraftin' Kimmie stamp
and/or product your entry will count as double toward the
monthly prize drawing. What's the prize you might ask???
It's a $25 gift voucher to spend in the KKS Shop!
 Awesomeness right?!?!

Our hostess this week is krafty gal Keri who has chosen
TEXTURE as the theme for Challenge #534.

There are soooo many ways to add texture (or the appearance
of texture). You can add texture with your coloring, by using
buttons, fabric, ribbon, distress paper, glitter, embossing, dots
sequins, textured dies, metal charms...see what I mean?!!
At first I was completely stumped and overwhelmed with this
concept.  Then as I started digging through all my crafty stash
I came up with all kinds of  stuff I've completely forgotten about.
Then I was overwhelmed with what to use first and
tons of ideas flooded my head for the next time - LOL!
That's why they call it a challenge peeps - sometimes it
pushes us out of our comfort zone and allows us the opportunity
to try new things.  Will you accept our challenge this week?

My card features one of the super adorable images from
MAKE A WISH and LOTS of texture
(maybe even a little too much haha).

On initial glance how many ways would you say I added texture?
Let's count them: 1) glitter paper
2) embossed edging around the square die cut shape
3) enamel dots
4) colored rhinestones
5) a sequin
6)fabric flowers
7) scrunching up the flowers and adding color for depth
8) wink of Stella on her colored pieces of hair & the blue flower
9) Pop dotted the sentiment to be raised slightly
10) coloring of the outfit to create folds
ohhh and last 11) a curled corner on the top right.
WHEW! Maybe a bit overload but soooo much FUN!
Truly stretched me outside my comfort zone and I loved it.
It's supposed to be rainy all weekend here which is a bummer
for my family and friends who are trying to celebrate graduates
with a ceremony or party (socially distanced of course).
I will be going to a couple of those events but also
crafting my little heart away in preparation of the JUNE
NEW Release peeks which start next week.

If you are looking for some krafty fun this weekend?
How about a June Jamboree Weekend
The Krafty Krew has put together two days of
live color alongs, challenges and tutorials
featuring the stamps and products from the May
release.  It will be Jam packed with inspiration and fun
and PRIZES! I hope you'll be able to pop in and participate.
You'll find details in the Kraftin' Kimmie Friends Facebook Group.
No photo description available.

Before I go I want to remind (enable) you about the
Frugal Friday specials going on this weekend only.
These deals are a great way to build your KKS stash!
