Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps #604 - Use Patterned Paper.

Good morning and welcome to another

fabulous and fun Saturday Challenge

Are you ready for another fun and krafty challenge to inspire you and help get your creative juices flowing?
We've got some fabulous ideas for you
and can't wait to see what you create!

This week, Krafty Girl Karla is your hostess and her challenge theme for you is:

PATTERNED PAPER!

Oh I LOVE this theme!! I don't know about you, but...
I have a HUGE stash of patterned paper. In fact,
since I've been building my stencil stash my patterned
papers haven't been getting enough love and use.

I colored up one of the super cute little puffins from the
PUFFINS AND PALS stamp set and some wintery papers
from my stash to create this clean and simple card.

I added some Stickles to the snowflakes. I wanted to keep my
card clean and simple, but I felt it was missing something.
Why is sparkle so hard to photograph?
Oh well, hopefully you can see it a little.

The inspiration for my layout of this card is based on
the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches #508 (see below)
- but I flipped the orientation for my card.
So I'm entering my card in that challenge too

I hope you like my card and that I've inspired you to
grab some of your pattern papers and a
Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps stamp set (or two)
and create something to share with us!

Each and every Saturday we post a brand new challenge for the week and you are welcome to enter as many times as you like.
These must be new creations and you are welcome to use any stamp, however, using Kraftin' Kimmie Stamp products will earn you double entries!

The monthly prize is a $25 voucher to the Krafty shop!!!
Woohoo!  There are two ways to enter: you can link up your creation on the  Kraftin’ Kimmie blog page and if using KKS products,
you can upload your photo to the album in our

Also, if you need a little extra inspiration or a jump start to your mojo, we have a new sketch each month!
Feel free to use it any time!

Be sure to check out all the fun projects the Design Team has come up with in the links below! Happy kraftin'!

Freshly Made Sketches #500

Hello again, I'm back again with a second card to
share that I made for the

This time I used a fun new kit from Taylored Expressions
(includes a stamp, stencil and dies) called In The Abstract.
Taylored Expressions is one of the sponsors of
the FMS#500 celebrations.

Here's the fabulous Sketch #500
And here's my card

I love the font on the sentiment.
I was going for a fall type card but after I
made it, I felt like it almost looked more like
Christmas colors.  That's the beauty of this set
really.  You could change the color of the leaft
sprig to green and add a different sentiment to
get a completely different look.

I'm also entering this card in the following challenges:
and

Thanks for visiting me today! Have a beautiful day!

Freshly Made Sketches #500!

Hello lovely crafty friends! Thanks for popping in to visit me today.
Today I'm sharing card I made for the celebration
at FRESHLY MADE SKETCHES for Challenge #500.
The sketch is a classic clean style and there are
lots of sponsors and prizes for this momentous accomplishment.

One of the sponsors is Gina K Designs.
I recently attended an online crafting event and
received this beautiful layering stencil set as part of
the event package.  I haven't had near enough time to
play with it so I thought this was a great occasion to do so.

Before I show you my card - here's the sketch #500

and here's my card based on it.

I'm also entering this in the following challenges:
and

Congratulations Freshly Made Sketches and thanks
for the continual inspiration.  Here's to 500 more sketches!

And a new weekly challenge starts today too.
I'll bet you can guess the theme because it's the
same every month during release week...

and coordinating stencils, inks and dots?
Do you have a favorite yet?
If not this one just might be it!!!
Our final stamp set of the July release
is by artist Melissa Baker-Nguyen
and it's called LONG IN THE TOOTH!

 OH MY GOSH...isn't this awesome?!
Just look at how CUTE they are and
the fun sentiments and fonts! And
let's not forget about that leggy little bird.

Before I show you my card today, I wanted to

AND...pretty quickly after the release party ALL

Okay so are you ready to see what I've made?!
Here it is...
This card features the SHE SELLS SEASHELLS stencil,
the PATTERN PARADE stencil, the new FRESH FIELDS
hybrid ink and the new SUMMER DOTS.
My layout was inspired by the current

After using the stencil the first time with the
FRESH FIELDS ink, I then very very lightly spread some
Nuevo glitter paste through it again over the top of what I had
already inked.  The original green still shows through but now
there is a lighter green shimmer on top of it. It's really cool in real life!
Wish you could see that better!  I was tickled with how it turned out.
Here's a couple more photos that show the details a bit better

So don't forget about the ANYTHING GOES challenge.
We love to see your creations in our gallery and
in the Krafty Friends Facebook Group too.
Each time you enter a new creation you have a chance

Graduation Celebrations - Happy Thoughts

Hi again - I'm back with a second post for the day.
We had a whopping six graduates this year between our
family and friends.  I was wayyyy behind remembering
that this was coming up (and honestly kind of shocked
because I still can't believe that some of these young
people are "old" enough to be graduating) and hadn't made
the cards yet.  So I started with some fun themed papers
and looked for some sketch inspiration that would help
me keep the design fairly quick and easy to replicate.

Here are two of the cards I made - both using the
currently weekly sketch from Freshly Made Sketches,
papers from my stash and two awesome stamp sets
by Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps called YOU'RE A HOOT
and HAPPY THOUGHTS (sentiments).

I've included a close up of each card too

I'm entering these cards in the following challenges:
Your Own Patterned Paper.   Mine is of course
the actual kind pulled from my embarrassing large
patterned paper stash.  I bought several sheets of this
6 years ago and am now down to two 12 x 12 sheets left.

and Freshly Made Sketches #438 where I found
my inspiration for the design.

Thanks for letting me share with you again today!
Hope the rest of your week(end) is lovely. D

Kraftin' Kimmie Challenges #515 - Love/Friendship!!

Hello friends - happy Saturday!
It's time for another weekly theme challenge at
 KRAFTIN' KIMMIE STAMPS.

Krafty Gal Allison is our hostess this time and
What a great challenge or this time of year!

With Valentine's Day coming up soon I used the
brand new YOU'RE GNAW-SOME! for my card.

Isn't this sweet couple perfect for a Valentine's card?
I think they would be cute on an anniversary card too.
They are colored on kraft paper with Prismacolor pencils.
After fussy cutting them, I popped them up with foam dots.
A last touch was a few of the KKS Lovey Dots.

I hope that you'll decide to join the challenge this week and
enter your own fabulous creation using our Love/Friendship theme.
We love when you share with us!  There's a monthly prize
of a $40 gift voucher to the KKS Shop up for grabs too!

In addition to the KKS Challenge I'm also
entering this card in the following challenges:

Thanks for visiting me today!
Hope your next week is crafty and happy! Hugs! D

FMS #412

Hello friends! Happy Monday!
Quick post from me before heading off to work.
I found some time over the weekend to play and
make some Christmas cards for a fundraiser auction.
I used the Freshly Made Sketches #412 for my design.
Here are my cards (I made several of each design).
I apologize for the sub-par photos. The lighting
last night and this morning wasn't optimal.

Thanks for visiting me today! Gotta run!

Loss of Beloved Pet

Hello crafty friends.
Today I have a couple cards I made for friends/family
who have lost beloved pets recently.
This is such a sad reason to make a card.

There's a perfect stamp set from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps
called Furry Angels for these type of cards.
When challenged with making difficult subject
cards, I look for sketches to give me a framework
to focus on.  The current Freshly Made Sketches
sketch #382 was perfect for keeping it simple
and yet beautiful.  Both of the cards use it.
Both images are colored with copic markers & fussy cut.

Here's the first one - I colored it to look
like my sister's sweet Jack Russell Terrier
named Jackie Ringo.  He was such a sweetie.

And here's the second for my friend

I'm sharing these cards in the following challenges:

Bottom Card
Thanks for popping in to visit me today and
allowing me to share my creations.  Hugs! D

Happy 50th Birthday

Hello friends - Happy Monday!
Friday was my middle sister's 50th birthday
and here is the card I made to help her celebrate
this momentous occasion.
the inside says ..."Like WHY did I walk into this room?!"
I tried to break it to her gently that yes this does happen
(and far more often than I'd like to admit) - haha!

This fun sentiment is from a set by Stampin' Up! called
FIVE FOR ALL.

I used the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches #323
for the layout and the main color of pink because
well, because....I love pink lol!

I'd also like to enter this card in the following challenges:
(see the three little candles in the top corner?)
Cupcake Inspiration Challenges CIC439 - photo inspiration
(color the pink frosting on the cupcakes)

That's all for today folks.  Thanks so much for popping in
to visit me again.  Crafty hugs to each of you! D

you got Monday out of the way so it can't be all bad - right?!

I think this little gal looks like my oldest niece.

The wooden sentiment is from Stampin' Up!
& the papers are part of a 6x6 paper pad (both retired).

FMS167 and City Crafter Week 242 - Christmas tree

Hello friends!
Are  you almost ready for Christmas?
I have a couple more gifts to get yet
and need to sit down and address
envelopes to send my cards out.

I have two more cards to make for the season
so I chose the great sketch at Freshly Made Sketches
to help me get 'er done.

This card took me forever to make!! I thought I'd just
whip it together but I really struggled with it.
I think it was because it was outside my normal
"cute" with lots of bright colors style.
But it is good to stretch ourselves sometimes
and the person I had in mind for this card
is not a "cute" card person :o)

I'm also entering this card in the following challenge:
City Crafter Challenge Blog Week 242 - Christmas Color challenge

Thanks for stopping by to visit me today -
I'm sure glad that you did.

Til next time friends...hugs and merry crafting! D

MTTC #268 - Time and/or Space

Greeting Earthlings!
Does that greeting give you any clues as to what
the challenge this week is at My Time to Craft?
MTTC#268 is TIME AND/OR SPACE.

We want you to create something with a time theme
or image such as clocks or a timeline, or a space
theme with images such as spaceships or aliens,
or planets...get the idea?

Here's my take on this challenge using "Space"
and an adorable little green alien:
Digital image by Bugaboo Digis

Can you see the sparkle on the orange planet ring
and stars?  I used Stickles glitter glue - LOVE that stuff :o)

My fabby DT pals at MTTC have also made some
wonderful and crafty creations to inspire you.
Please go visit them too and say "hi".
We'd love to see your entry in our gallery this week

Colorful Winter Combo for 52CCT January Color Challenge, FMS118, Merry Monday #90, CCAYR January and ABC Christmas "A" is for Anything Christmas

Hello dear friends and followers, hope this post finds you happy and warm.  I'm looking forward to the weekend and trying more recipes from my Pioneer Woman Cookbook.  My family is lovin' the returns that this gift is providing to them.  My daughter said "I'm just so glad that Mom is really cooking lately".   What???!! I said.  "What do you mean? I cook all the time".  She replied,  "Yeah but it's usually got some part of it from a box or drive through.  Everything you are making lately now is entirely from scratch".   I didn't know whether to laugh or be offended - couldn't really be offended though as it's true.  Hmmmm... just when you think they aren't noticing :o).   Anyway - tomorrow I think I'll make glazed donuts for breakfast and chicken and noodles for dinner.  Wanna join us? Friends are always welcome!

So back to why you probably dropped in to visit.  Today I'm sharing with you my DT card for the 52CCT January Color Challenge.  We would like you to use at least 3 of the colors noted below - but you're sure welcome to use all of them if you like.

I love this great wintry combo and reached for one of my favorite snowman stamps - take a look please:
I used a piece of double sided -patterned cardstock for the base (retired Stampin Up!) - those embossed dots are on the front and back.  The dots make me think of a bunch of snow balls flying around.  Kind of a fun and different use of the paper and it made me feel quite "thrifty" for getting good use of my paper :o).  It has a good solid feel to it and the reverse pattern on the inside is nice too - another bonus.

I am also entering my card in the following challenges:
Freshly Made Sketches (FMS118) - sketch
Merry Monday #90 - Use Ribbon or Twine (I used just a wee strip)
Christmas Cards All Year Round - January - Anything Goes Christmas
ABC Christmas Challenge - "A" is for Anything Christmas
and (because Hazel so kindly invited me)
Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Challenge

I'm excited to see what you might make this week with these great colors. The other ladies on the DT of 52CCT  have also made some terrific cards to inspire you this week. Won't you pop on in and visit them to see? Soon we will be having more DT members join us too - Yahoo!    Til next time friends... hugs and happy crafting! D
