Graduation Celebrations - Happy Thoughts

Hi again - I'm back with a second post for the day.
We had a whopping six graduates this year between our
family and friends.  I was wayyyy behind remembering
that this was coming up (and honestly kind of shocked
because I still can't believe that some of these young
people are "old" enough to be graduating) and hadn't made
the cards yet.  So I started with some fun themed papers
and looked for some sketch inspiration that would help
me keep the design fairly quick and easy to replicate.

Here are two of the cards I made - both using the
currently weekly sketch from Freshly Made Sketches,
papers from my stash and two awesome stamp sets
by Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps called YOU'RE A HOOT
and HAPPY THOUGHTS (sentiments).

I've included a close up of each card too

I'm entering these cards in the following challenges:
Your Own Patterned Paper.   Mine is of course
the actual kind pulled from my embarrassing large
patterned paper stash.  I bought several sheets of this
6 years ago and am now down to two 12 x 12 sheets left.

and Freshly Made Sketches #438 where I found
my inspiration for the design.

Thanks for letting me share with you again today!
Hope the rest of your week(end) is lovely. D

Catch the Bug Challenges - Anything but a Card Monday

Happy Monday crafty peeps!
Did you get  your taxes done?
I was up until 2 am working on ours - ugh!
Thus the late post today - I totally spaced updating
my blog for the ANYTHING BUT A CARD

We have a couple graduations coming up in our
family so I decided to make a tag and a little
pillow gift box that's perfect for tucking
some cash for the graduate in.

I've used Ava grad diploma on the tag

The best part about this project today is that
it uses up lots of bits and parts of things from my
stash - love when that happens!

I'd like to enter this in the following challenges:
613 Avenue Create #172 - Anything Goes
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenges - Let's do the Polka
Crafty Hazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenges - April Anyhing Goes
Sweet Stampin Challenges - Tags

Off to my day job I go for now!  I think
I'll be drinking lots of coffee today to
stay awake and focused.
Have a wonderful Monday and thanks
so much for stopping in to visit me!
Hugs D

Catch the Bug "Oldie but Goodie" Thursday

Hello friends! Happy Thursday!
I'm enjoying my term as a Guest Designer
for Bugaboo Digi Stamps very much.
Thursdays are "Oldie But Goodie" days at
Catch the Bug Challenge blog and today
I have the opportunity to share a graduation card
that I made for my cousin's daughter using an
Oldie But Goodie digital image called "Ava grad dipolma".

I chose this image because it reminded me of the graduate
with her long dark hair and sweet face.  Fortunately she
loved it and it has a place of honor on her table for a while :o)

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
The Alphabet Challenges - H is for Hats and/or Handbags
The Crafter's Cafe #120 - Anything Goes

Thanks for stopping by today to visit me! Hugs D

MOJO Monday #400

Hello friends and followers - so happy you are here to visit me today!
I mentioned a few posts back that I have several graduation cards to make
for family and friends.  I used the MOJO Monday #400 sketch this week

to help me get one of my cards done - take a look:

I love how quickly this card came together (bonus)!
I printed off a digital stamp from Stampin' Up and used
an oval die cut for the shape (cutting off the overhang on the bottom).
I had scraps of left over paper from 3 years ago with the felt mortar
boards (graduation caps) that I snipped out as an additional embellishment
and added a few candy dots.  Viola - done! Well... except for the gift :o)

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges as well:
Alphabet Challenge Blog - "H" is for Hats and/or Handbags
Clear it Out Challenges: Theme/Anything Goes and Stash/You Choose
(my stash is the cap from the paper scraps and the candy dots)
4 Crafty Chicks #249 - Graduation
The Crafter's Cafe - #119: School's Out/Graduation

So off I go to enjoy my weekend and do a little more crafting!
Still have 4 cards to finish for the parties we are going to over the next week.
Better get busy! Til next time...hugs and happy crafting! D

Sketch Saturday #361 - Another Graduation Card

Happy Saturday friends!!
I'm still making Graduation cards for the 7 grads (now)
of our family and friends this year.
I'm using the awesome new sketch at
to make this one  - take a look:

I used some new Doodlebug papers and a digital image & sentiment
that's been in my stash for quite a long time.
Don't ya love all the different shoes? I would be the one in the
fancy high heels. Well maybe wayyyy back when - now I'd probably
break my neck if I tried to walk across a stage in them - LOL!

Back with us this week as our wonderful sponsor
and here's Sketch #361 (which you can see I
rotated for my DT card above).

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
The Friday Mashup Challenge #209 - It's all about the Grads

I hope that you will decide to join us this week and share
your gorgeous work in our gallery with us!!
Til next time...hugs and happy craftin'! D

Sketch Saturday #360

Good Morning friends!
It's time for another weekly sketch challenge

Back with us this week is our amazing sponsor...
The prize is a $25 gift certificate - whoot whoot!

Here is sketch #360:
Isn't it amazing how fast the weeks fly by?
Here it is Mother's Day already and very soon lots
of people will be graduating from high school and/or college.
We have 6 family and friends that are graduating from
high school next month (hard to believe these babies are that old)
so I decided to make a graduation card with the sketch - take a look:

This card uses the school colors of one of our grads.
She's a sporty gal so I didn't make it really feminine but
used lots of bling with the paper and the stars to match her
sparkling personality.  Hope she likes it!

I hope that you will decide to join us this week for
Sketch Saturday #360.  You can flip the sketch,
make a square instead of rectangle and/or substitute the
oval shape just as long as we can still make out the main sketch.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
Stampin' Royalty #276 - Graduations
The Outlawz - Friday Coloring Challenge - Celebration (any occassion)

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Til next time...hugs and happy crafting! D

Addicted to Stamps and More! Challenge #46 - Anything Goes

Oh boy it's time for the most popular challenge each month at Addicted to Stamps and More! - Challenge #46 "Anything Goes". Whoo Hoo.  My Anything Goes this week is driven by the fact that we got two graduation notices in the mail last week.  I used the Stampin Up! My Digital Studio program for the owl image and made it larger to fit on these cards (the original image is about 1 1/2" tall and these are 3 1/4" tall).  I colored each with my copic markers. The Report card papers are ones I've had in my paper stash pile for awhile (probably had some scrapbooking idea that I've long forgotten) and I thought they'de be perfect for this theme.  The orange and black card is actually one of the girl's school colors.  I don't know the other one's colors so I stuck to a neutral grey base with the green report card.   One of the cards is 6' square and the other is 5 x7 leaving lots of room to tuck in a check or gift card before I mail.  Did you notice the google eyes on one of the owls?

So... what will you make this week for the ATS&M Anything Goes challenge?  This is always a fun one for the DT members as we get to see some amazing creations - cards, boxes, scrapbook pages, other 3D projects, jewelry using stamped images, etc.  We aren't fussy at all about what type of creation you make - but we do want to see stamping somewhere on your project (after all we are Addicted to Stamps you know :o) ).  My fellow DT members have made some gorgeous creations for your inspiration - you can go see them by clicking here.

Thanks so much for stopping by to visit me today - I'm sure glad that you did.  Til next time...hugs and happy crafting! D
