Are you Playing w/ ATSM #68?

Hello friends and folllowers - hope you are all doing well!  Today I'm sharing a second DT card I made for Addicted to Stamps and More! (ATS&M) Color Challenge #68.  This time I decided to make an easel card. It's kind of skinny and narrow (3" x 6") - a fun size to use.  I debated on the grassy strip because usually in Montana we have snow on Halloween - but it worked perfectly with the colors and image, so I went with it even though I was tempted to put a dash of white flocking on there to look like snow :o)

Have you joined us at ATS&M yet this week?  If not, I'd sure love to see your entries using this color combo.

I'm also entering my card in the following challenges:

Divas by Design - "Spooked" (anything Halloween)
Stampin' Royalty Challenge #199 (photo - see below) - I liked the pumpkins and the colors
and
City Crafter Challenge Blog Week #182 - Pumpkin Patch.

Thanks so much for stopping by to visit me today - I'm sure glad that you did. Til next time...hugs and happy crafting! D

ABC48 - Celebrating Kids and Divas by Design - CAS

Happy Monday friends and followers.  My how the weekends fly by!  This week at ABC Challenges we are celebrating kids by making a card for a kid (or with kids in mind).  I've been busy making several Halloween cards for my own kiddos, my nieces and nephew, and for some of my friends and co-workers little ones as well.  This one is for my sweet teen niece. She's still just enough of a kid to make a "cute" card for her.

I colored the image (witch and sentiment from Paper Smooches) with copic markers (G24 & R02, R22 -face & lips, E8 -hair, V04, V06 & V09 -clothing & hat, Y38 -buckle, C7 -hat band) and added some stickles for a bit sparkle.  Kept it CAS this week so I've decided to also play along with Divas by Design - CAS challenge.

The other lovely ladies on the DT for ABC Challenges have also made some great "Kid" cards to share with and inspire you. I hope you'll go visit them and then decide to play along with us this week.

Til next time...hugs and happy crafting! D

ABC Challenges - 3 in a Row, C4C184, Divas by Design - Add a Number and STB#16

Happy Monday!  This week at ABC Challenges we have the really fun challenge of TicTacToe - 3 in a Row.  You get to pick 3 items in a row (up, down, across, diagonal) to make your beautiful card.  My card uses the top row - Ribbon, Use a Punch and Designer Series Paper.  Take a look:

Card details: The DSP is from my stash of retired stock called "Just Add Cake".  I used three punches the cupcake punch, the 1 3/4" circle punch and the 2 1/4" scallop circle punch.  I edged the DSP and the circle with the Crumb Cake (Kraft) ink.

The 3 in a Row challenge is always a challenge for me because I have to force myself to narrow down my options and just go with one choice.  But I can almost drive myself crazy thinking about all the other cards I could make if I just choose a different row, column, etc.  To help myself put some framework around my choice I go searching for a color and/or sketch challenge that I can piggyback off of and help me get to designing.  I used the challenges noted below to help me do just that.  I know that the other ladies on the DT for ABC Challenges have also prepared some great cards using more of our TicTacToe options so please pop on over there and see what they've made for your inspiration.  I hope that you will decide to play along with us this week.

I am also entering this card in:

Crazy 4 Challenges C4C184 (colors of Light Pink, Kraft, Black and Cream) - note the circles within the DSP are cream colored but I accidentally used white on my main circle with the cupcake, I hope it doesn't disqualify me - if so I understand.

Divas by Design - Add a Number and Seize the Birthday #16 sketch (see below)

Thanks for stopping by to visit me today - til next time... Hugs and happy crafting! d

MOJO256, Color Throwdown (CTD207) and Divas by Design Challenge 50 - Let's Celebrate!

Hello friends - hope you are having a wonderful Labor Day weekend.  I have been staining my backyard fence for two days - whoo hoo and sadly we are still only about a 1/3 of the way around (its a monster)!  I am breaking it into sections so that I don't go stark raving mad listening to my husband and son complain about how hot it is - ha ha!  Really I just would much rather be making cards than staining a monster-sized fence.  But I managed to take a break this evening and put this card together for my sweet Auntie Renie who's birthday is today (gonna go surprise her right after I post this).  Aunt Renie is a bright, colorful, super fun, giggly person.  She was brave enough to let me try to drive her Subaru (which was a stick shift) for the the first time when I was just learning to drive.  Oh my - it was an adventure and she never stopped laughing.  Here's just a snippet for you - we were on a very small incline right outside the McDonald's drive-thru... guess how many times I killed it?  If you guess correctly I might send you a prize- LOL.

I used the MOJO Monday 256 Round or Square sketch for this card and combined it with the color challenge over at Color Throwdown #207.  It's been awhile since I've attempted one of these color challenges but these colors seemed to be ones that I thought my Aunt would like so thought I'd give it a go.  I'm also entering this in the Divas by Design Challenge 50 - Let's Celebrate!

Thanks so much for stopping by to visit me today - I'm sure glad that you did!  Gonna dash off for now so I can get this delivered.  Til next time - Hugs and Happy Crafting!

ATS - Bingo Challenge #2, Divas by Design #47 - For a Female and C4C149 - White on White

Hello friends and Happy Sunday!  I don't know about you, but for me this past week has just flown by - it's crazy.  Anyway, I'm happy you've decided to pop in and visit my blog today - hope you will like what you see.  If you do, leave me a note - I love to get "mail" :o)

I have a friend that I have recent re-connected with.  We worked together years ago and became fast friends but somehow through job changes and real life events in between we lost touch.  When we recently got together again after a few years, it was as if all that time hadn't even passed (aside from all the things we had to catch up on) and we are still just as good of friends.  I so enjoyed my time with her and wanted to send her a card to let her know how nice it is that we can just pick up where we left off and still be friends. What a blessing!

I used the following challenges to make this card:  Divas by Design #47 - For a Female, Addicted to Stamps (ATS) Bingo Challenge #2 for which I picked the three elements of flowers, embossing and ribbon (see below)
and Crazy 4 Challenges #149 - White on White (a pop of color is allowed in the main image - my image is the flowers).

Thanks so much again for stopping by! If you have a special lady (mom, friend, grandma, daughter, sister) in your life, send her a card and let her know, I'm sure it would really make her day.  Hugs!

Supplies (all from Stampin Up!): Cardstock - Whisper White.  Embossing - Perfect Polka Dots textured embossing folder (my all-time favorite).  Ribbon - 5/8" Organza Ribbon in Whisper White.  Sentiment is from Blessings from Heaven (stamped in Basic Grey) punched out with the Extra Large Oval punch.  The flowers are from a Sizzix die called Flower, Daisies # 2 (retired). Flower middles are punched on Daffodil Delight cardstock with a 1/2" circle punch.   Buttons - Vintage Faceted Designer Buttons (NEW and fabulous).

Freshly Made Sketches #45, Divas by Design #45 and Stampin Royalty #134

Hello friends - seems like its been a while since I've created and posted a card.   I've been squeezing in some time to visit some of my favorite blogs and continue to be inspired, but haven't had time to get my fingers inky for the past few days.  This past week was a crazy catch-up week for me but  I finally found some time today to play for awhile :o)  and boy did it feel wonderful!

My card today is based on the great sketch at Freshly Made Sketches #45 (see below).  This sketch has so many possibilities with the option to use any shape, but I decided to follow it very closely this time with my card.  I am also entering this card in Stampin Royalty Challenge #134 - Buttons and Divas By Design Challenge 45 - Happy Birthday.
The inspiration for my card comes from my mom and sister who have been talking about how great the cherries are right now (they are crazy for cherries). One of them will most likely be getting this card from me in the near future :o).   While I love cherry pie (my absolute favorite), cherry cobbler, cherry jelly, cherry yogurt (you get the idea...), I don't like to eat cherries just as they are for some reason - go figure!   Anyway -  I've had this fun stamp set called Button Buddies for quite some time but often forget to use it - so I dusted off the case and decided now was the time to ink it up and add a couple buttons.  I remember when I used to be hesitant to use buttons - didn't know where to place them, worried about the heaviness of the card or trouble mailing, etc.  But now I love to add buttons whenever it works on the card.  I have left this set on my desk to remind me to use it more often.  Do you have a neglected set or some buttons to use?  I encourage you to get them out and start playing!!

Thanks so much for stopping by - I'm sure glad that you did!  Have a wonderful weekend - what's left of it already (how does the time go by so fast?).  Hugs!!

Supplies (all from Stampin Up!):  I used Lucky Limeade cardstock as my base for the card and a piece of retired DSP called Sweet Shop.  The Cherries are from Button Buddies and the sentiment is from one of my go-to sets called "Petite Pairs".  The buttons are from the brights set and the ribbon is the 3/8" Ruffled Pleated Ribbon in Lucky Limeade (sooo easy to work with - love this ribbon).  I used the 2 1/2" circle punch for the main image and colored the stamp with my SU  markers before stamping and adding the buttons.

Divas By Design - "Anything Goes"

Happy Friday Friends!  Right now I am living in the sunshine but  it looks like that might change as there are some big black clouds brewing to the west and we are supposed to get some hefty afternoon showers.  That's been happening quite a lot lately here - sunny in the mornings and raining in the afternoon and evenings - good for the lawn and trees, bad for me and the weeds I have to pull - LOL.  Ok... so enough of the weather report and on to the card you are seeing above.  I was messing around with this card last week for a color challenge and but didn't get it finished.  This morning I saw that the theme this week at Divas By Design Challenge #44 is "Anything Goes" so I thought I'd finish it up and share it with you as I enter this challenge.

I stamped the flower image on a piece of Daffodil Delight cardstock using More Mustard ink for the darker effect, then I put it in my Blossom punch.  I ran the leaves through a textured embossing folder after I punched them out.  The sentiment is layered with two offsetting ovals with some some brown pearls for added emphasis.   Hope you enjoyed today's card and that there is some sunshine where you live to enjoy!  Thanks so much for stopping by to visit - I'm sure glad that you did! Hugs!

Supplies (all from Stampin Up except as noted):  Cardstock - Early Espresso, More Mustard, Daffodil Delight and Pear Pizzazz.  DSP - Spice Cake (retired).  Stampes - With Love and Care; flowers (retired hostess set) and Pursuit of Happiness sentiment.  Textured Embossing folders - Manhattan Flowers (leaves) and Square Lattice.  Punches - Blossom (flowers) and Blossoms Petal Builder (leaves).
