Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Challenge #529 - Multiple Layers

Hello and a good happy Saturday to you!
It's time for another weekly theme challenge from

Our challenge #529, should you decided to accept it,
is to USE MULTIPLE LAYERS on your creation.

I love layers! In fact, I really struggle with one layer
cards (love when others do them - but mine always seem
to look plain or too simple to me) - so this challenge makes
me happy, happy, happy!   Really - no lie!

My card features a big flower from the LOVE BUGS
stamp set and a hummingbird from HAPPY HUMMINGBIRDS
(the sentiment is from a retired KKS stamp set). There's also
a few of the Fruity Dots scattered on the front too.
Both of the main images were colored with copic markers
and then enhanced with prisma color pencils.
I sent this card to my sister who is quite the flower
gardener - she loved it!

I'm also entering my card in the following challenges:

I hope that you'll decide to join us this week too
and share your own Multiple Layer project.
Please make sure that it is a NEW creation
and if it features a Kraftin' Kimmie stamp or other product
your entry gives you a double chance at the monthly
prize of a $25 gift certificate to spend in the KKS Shop!

And because it's International Scrapbooking Day
Kimmie has a special SALE going on. Check it out!
Image may contain: possible text that says 'SALE! A Krafty Let's celebrate International Scrapbook Day with a SALE! Enjoy special prices on clear stamps, hybrid ink pads, stencils and dots in our Krafty Shop all weekend long while supplies last! WWW ww.KraftinKimmieStamps.com'

Thanks so much for visiting me today!
I realized as I was typing this post that this month marks
eight years that I've been sharing my cards/creations on
this blog. Five of those years I've been designing for
Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps.  How very blessed I feel!
Hope you have a peaceful, safe and krafty weekend!

ABC Challenges - Stamped Background

Hello dear friends and followers and Happy Monday to you!  Our challenge this week at ABC Challenges is to make a card using your own stamped background (instead of patterned paper). I promptly grabbed this flower from a Stampin Up! (SU) set called "Blooming with Kindness" and a new SU 2013-14 in-color called Strawberry Slush.  I stamped the flowers randomly (trying especially not to be too perfect with where I placed them) on a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock and then sponged around the edges with another new SU in-color called Baked Brown Sugar (don't both of these colors have yummy names?).  The Strawberry Slush color comes out pinker when stamped on white and a little bit more coral when stamped on vanilla (cream) - I really like it alot!  Then sentiment is also from a new SU set called "Really Good Greetings".

This card is going to a friend who is experiencing some challenging times right now.  On the inside I have put the sentiment "Thank God for what you Have...Trust God for what you Need" .  I hope she likes it and that it makes her feel a bit better. It's nice to know when someone is in your corner - especially God.

I hope you will find time to join our challenge this week at ABC Challenges.  This is a fun one as really the sky is the limit with what you use to stamp your background. I have a feeling we are going to see some amazing and creative cards this week.  The rest of our DT members have prepared some beautiful cards to share with you as well - so please go visit them here.

Til next time... hugs and happy crafting! D

'ABC' Challenges ' Holiday Card w/Bling

Hello friends and dear blog followers - hope today finds you in a blessed state :o)  Our challenge this week at 'ABC' Challenges is to make a holiday card with some bling.  The sentiment is from a SU stamp set called Greetings of the Season (in the holiday mini).  I hunted around in my stash and found these fun sparkly swirls and then was even more delighted to find the red rhinestone button and the circle bling.  The flowers were also in my "to use someday" basket.  Sometimes it really pays to go through our secret stash :o) not to mention that it looks so much prettier on a card to send someone than sitting in a box or basket.  Do you have some blingy stash to use this week?  Perhaps you have a newer blingy purchase that you just can't wait to do something with.  Well... good news... now's the perfect time to use it!  And then we would love for you to share it with is us week at 'ABC' Challenges - Holiday w/Bling.

I layered three of the petals to give this flower more depth.  Here's another look that shows the dimension of the card a little better (finished card size is 5 1/4" square):

The other DT members at 'ABC' Challenges have created some amazing samples to awe and inspire you - pop in and visit them too.  Thanks so much for stopping by to visit me today - I'm sure glad that you did.  Til next time.... Hugs and Happy Crafting!

Pals Paper Arts #138 (PPA138) Color Challenge

Hello friends, tonight I'm entering this card in the Pals Paper Arts Challenge #138 which calls for the terrific color combo as shown below.PPA138
I absolutely love this color combo together and knew as soon as I saw it that I wanted to make a card with a sunflower on it.  This is the first time I've inked up this lovely flower stamp and I really liked the results.  I think the next time I do it, I'll stamp the image first with soft suede ink on the daffodil delight paper and then color and stamp just the middle of the flower again using Early Espresso - I think it will give the leaves more definition - I'll let you know how it turns out when I try it :o)  I usually like to have some element of texture on my cards so in this case I let the ribbon and the pearls provide that for me.  I used three strands of the daffodil stitched grosgrain ribbon and cut the ends of each strip to mimic the edges of the flowers.  I like how it turned out even without any patterned paper or texturizing :o) Hope you like it too!  Thanks so much for stopping by to visit - I'm sure glad that you did.  Hugs!

Details and Supplies (all from Stampin Up!): Finished card size is 5 1/4" square.  The sunflower stamp is approximately 4 1/2" x 4 3/4" so I decided to go with a larger square card.  Cardstock - Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso and Whisper White.  Stamps - Sunflower and Nature Silhouettes (sentiment - retired).  Inks - Daffodil Delight, Early Espresso and Cherry Cobbler.  Ribbon - 14" stitched grosgrain ribbon in Daffodil Delight.  Three basic pearls.

MOJO 244 and Flourishes Colors of the Rainbow (BBB23)

Happy Sunday friends!  Time to enter the fun MOJO Monday #244 challenge (on a Sunday for me - talk about wait til the last minute) based on this great sketch.
Here's another view of my card:
I am using several NEW products from Stampin Up on this card.  The NEW Floral District DSP has lots of bright happy colors and interesting patterns on several of these papers.  I chose today's papers because I am also combining this with another challenge at Flourishes - Bring Back Beautiful #23 - The Beauty of the Rainbow (BBB23) where the challenge is to use some (or all) of the colors of the rainbow.  This card uses Yellow, Green and Purple (violet).  I really like the combo of purple and greens together and then when you add yellow it just feels happier - kind of like adding sunshine :o)

Another NEW SU product is a stamp set called Betsy's Blossoms that I used the large flower from and then I punched out the middle of it with a 1 3/8" circle punch to layer on a 1 3/4" circle that I first ran through the Polka Dot textured embossing folder.  I used the 2 1/4" scallop circle punch and added some scoring lines to mimi the green flower on the DSP. A final touch to the flower comes from the largest eye of the Owl Builder punch and an In-color brad in Lucky Limeade for the center.  I added some hand drawn stitching with my white Signo pen to copy the stitching in this beautiful daffodil delight ribbon (also NEW from Stampin Up).  The sentiment and the banner die cut are also NEW from SU (Bitty Banners Framelits dies and Bitty Banners stamp set that coordinates with those shapes).  I used the scallop edge border punch for the bottoms of the top two layers.  Colors used are Rich Razzleberry, Lucky Limeade and Daffodil Delight.

This card has lots of layers but is actually pretty quick to make.  It took me a little less than 10 minutes to put together (although the idea of what I wanted to do took me much longer than that as I pondered - LOL).

Thanks so much for stopping by - hope you like this bright and cheery card today.  If you need some additional inspiration, pop into these fun challenges and take a peek at all the amazing ideas and samples that people have put together.  Maybe you will be inspired to make one of your own too - that would be wonderful!  Hugs!
