November Skrappy Challenge - Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps

 Good morning, my Krafty Friends!

It's November and that means it's time for a new
Skrappy Challenge
at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps!  

The theme of course is ANYTHING BUT A CARD!

For this challenge you can make anything that strikes your fancy....except a card!  So design a new scrapbook page, bookmark, tag, altered item, planner page, art journal, ATC cards...whatever you like! 

Just make sure to include some Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps products and make sure it's a new creation!  

I recently had the opportunity to use an old

but "new to me" technique of using shaving cream

to make a unique background. 

Here are the tags that I made with the 

Magical Midnight and Purple Pansy  

KKS re-inkers and the shaving cream.

Here's the tags featuring three of the

super chill and adorable snow peeps and 

their furry bunny friend from

FLAKY FRIENDS!

The sentiment on this tag is

from SKATING FRIENDS! stamp set.

The sentiment on this one is from 

the new HOLIDAY POSTAGE! stamp set. 

And here's the last one that I made

with the tiniest bit of the swirl pattern 

(it was just so pretty I had to find a way

to use it all).

The background of the larger

tag base was made with the 

COOL CRYSTALS! stencil and

Magical Midnight and Purple Pansy

KKS hybrid inks.  The sentiment

is another of the fun options 

in the SKATING FRIENDS! stamp set.

I love the KKS Skrappy Challenges because 

it's so fun to use my stamps, stencils and inks

in different ways.  More inky playtime and projects

means more krafty happiness!

This month I used the Fruity Fun! and

Our Farm! stamp sets as added embellishments

on a scrapbook page.  

The watermelon stamp was transformed

into a honeydew melon by masking off

the seeds and stamping in Totally Taupe

ink.  Copic markers in E40 and YG21

were used to color the outside rind.

I added the little farmer stamp because this

page is about a new and very delicious

find at the Farmer's Market.

This paper has been sitting my stash

for ages - I thought it was perfect for this page!

Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps Skrappy Challenge

Good morning, my Krafty Friends!

Skrappy Challenge
at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps! 

The theme of course is ANYTHING BUT A CARD!

For this challenge you can make anything that strikes your fancy....except a card!  So design a new scrapbook page, bookmark, tag, altered item, planner page, art journal, ATC cards...whatever you like! 

Just make sure to include some Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps products and make sure it's a new creation!  

This month my creation is a scrapbook page using the watermelon stamp from the FRUITY FUN! stamp set. 

I started with Vicki Boutin’s heavy weight mixed media art paper and stamped the images with Granite Grey ink from KKS. I stamped and masked, and then stamped and masked some more to create the cascading watermelon slices.  Then I used my karin watercolor markers to 

color in each of the pieces. 

It took a bit of patience and time but

It was also relaxing and I love how they turned out. 

I made a few extras on a separate piece of paper and then fussy cut them. A scallop oval punch was perfect to create the bite marks in some of the pieces. These were used as accent pieces on the layout. 

Did you notice how I used one of them to create the letter “u” in the title?

Skrappy Challenge -April 2024. Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps!

Good morning krafty friends! 

It's APRIL (can you believe that?), 

and that means it's time for a brand new

SKRAPPY CHALLENGE

with Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps!

 The theme of course is ANYTHING BUT A CARD!

For this challenge you can make anything that strikes your fancy....except a card!
So design a new scrapbook page, bookmark, tag, altered item, planner page, art journal, ATC cards...whatever you like!

Just make sure to include some Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps products and make sure it's a new creation!  

My creation this month is a super-sized

birthday tag that I made for one of my

staff.  I added a pocket on the backside 

of the tag so that I could tuck a coffee 

card into it for him. 

To make this tag, I started by sponging

Magical Midnight ink all over it 

(front and back).  Then I grabbed 

a panel of Vicki Boutin's Foundations

white cardstock and spritzed it with

some Distress Oxide ink sprays

(Stormy Sky and Aged Mahogany).

After the panel dried I used the 

awesome NUMBER IT! stencil

with some Lunar paster in 

Game Over. The final technique 

was to rub the Magical Midnight ink

all around the edges again and glue 

it to the tag base.

I was surprised that the lunar paste 

absorbed the ink and lost it's shine.

At first I was disappointed, but after 

I walked away from it for a while and

came back, I decided that it's perfectly

distressed and it has a very masculine

feel to it (something that is typically quite

difficult for me to achieve).  The fun sentiment is from the Birthday Bash Sentiments! stamp set. 

I think that it's kind of perfect 

for the person I made it for.

Here's my Skrappy project to inspire you! 

I used the brand new layering stencil called

FALLING HEARTS with some Ruby Red

KKS hybrid ink to cover the page in lots

of hearts.  February is the month of love afterall.

Then I colored up a couple of the adorable

skunk images from the STINKIN' CUTE 

stamp set and added them to the page.

This is hanging in my krafty space and it

brings a smile to my face every time I look at it!

December Skrappy Challenge - Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps!

I'm sharing some Artist Trading Cards (ATCs)

that I made for a swap recently.  The theme 

was Fall and Thanks or Gratitude.  

There are so many things that I'm both 

grateful and thankful for that it was 

hard to narrow it down. But.. one thing

that really stands out for me is having 

crafty friends who share my love of 

creating (card making, scrapbooking).

This is such a wonderful hobby, but

it's even better when it can be shared 

with friends!  I feel very blessed!

Here are my ATCs using the Krafty Mice 

stamp set and the leaves and one

of the sentiments from another KKS

retired stamp set.  The background was

created with distress inks and I added

some stickles glitter glue to enhance the

sentiment about being glitter glue. 

I hope you enjoyed my creation

I decided to make a tag for this month's challenge.

The super adorable new stamp set (released last 

month) called 

It's Peguining To Look A Lot Like Christmas!

I also used the Geo 3 stencil 

and some Aqua Adventure (Ink of the Month)

and Tranquil Teal inks on the background. 

Do you like the unusual color of the 

penguin? Non-traditional colors are 

my favorite to use on Christmas creations.

November 2022 Skrappy Challenge

For this challenge I made a little lighted box. There are two sweet elves from SANTA’S VILLAGE  and NORTH POLE HELPERS stamp sets enjoying the glow from the tea light inside. The sentiment on top of the box is from another sweet Christmas stamp set called CANDY CANE KISSES. It was an easy and fun creation to make. I love how it turned out! Take a peek!

Since Halloween is right around the corner, 

I thought it would be fun to make some 

treat bags for my staff using several of 

the KKS stencils and fabulous hybrid inks. 

Not everyone in my office likes chocolate (GASP!)

so I used some flavored tootsie rolls and 

candy corn (for the ONE person who loves it

in the group).  I actually really love how fun

the candy corn mix looks with the layered 

pumpkin stencil pattern (even if I really don't

love candy corn lol).  

To make the Bats and Moons candy bag I first

colored the white bag orange with 

Pumpkin Patch ink and then stenciled over

the top of that with the new Alluring Amethyst.

So super fun (and easy) to make these gifts!
