Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps - Skrappy Challenge - September 2024

Good morning, my Krafty Friends!

It's September and that means it's time for a new
Skrappy Challenge
at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps!

The theme of course is ANYTHING BUT A CARD!

For this challenge you can make anything that strikes your fancy....except a card!  So design a new scrapbook page, bookmark, tag, altered item, planner page, art journal, ATC cards...whatever you like!

Just make sure to include some Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps products and make sure it's a new creation!

*NEW - Our Challenges are now combined with the
Saturday Challenge and the Christmas Challenge in the Krafty Friends FB group! So feel free to enter any or all of these - the monthly prize is a $20 voucher to the Krafty shop!!!  Woohoo!  To enter, be sure to upload your photo to the September album in our Krafty Friends FB group.

I love the KKS Skrappy Challenges because
it's so fun to use my stamps, stencils and inks
in different ways.  More inky playtime and projects
means more krafty happiness!

This month I used the Fruity Fun! and
Our Farm! stamp sets as added embellishments
on a scrapbook page.

The watermelon stamp was transformed
into a honeydew melon by masking off
the seeds and stamping in Totally Taupe
ink.  Copic markers in E40 and YG21
were used to color the outside rind.
I added the little farmer stamp because this
page is about a new and very delicious
find at the Farmer's Market.
This paper has been sitting my stash
for ages - I thought it was perfect for this page!

Thanks for stopping in to visit my blog today.
I hope that I've inspired you to play along
with our monthly Skrappy Challenge

Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps Skrappy Challenge

Good morning, my Krafty Friends!

Thanks for stopping in to visit my blog today!

It's JUNE and that means it's time for a new
Skrappy Challenge
at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps!

This month my creation is a scrapbook page using the watermelon stamp from the FRUITY FUN! stamp set.

I started with Vicki Boutin’s heavy weight mixed media art paper and stamped the images with Granite Grey ink from KKS. I stamped and masked, and then stamped and masked some more to create the cascading watermelon slices.  Then I used my karin watercolor markers to
color in each of the pieces.
It took a bit of patience and time but
It was also relaxing and I love how they turned out.
I made a few extras on a separate piece of paper and then fussy cut them. A scallop oval punch was perfect to create the bite marks in some of the pieces. These were used as accent pieces on the layout.
Did you notice how I used one of them to create the letter “u” in the title?
I hope that you like my creation and that I’ve inspired you to get crafty and join this month’s Skrappy challenge too!

*NEW - Our Challenges are now combined with the
Saturday Challenge and the Christmas Challenge in the Krafty Friends FB group! So feel free to enter any or all of these - the monthly prize is a $20 voucher to the Krafty shop!!!  Woohoo!

December Skrappy Challenge - Anything But a Card!

Good morning krafty friends!
It's December and that means it's time for a brand new
SKRAPPY CHALLENGE

The theme of course is ANYTHING BUT A CARD!
For this challenge you can make anything
that strikes your fancy....except a card!

So design a new scrapbook page,
bookmark, tag, altered item,
planner page, art journal,
ATC cards...whatever you like!

I used the brand new KRAFTY KALENDAR!
stamp set to make a mixed media scrapbook page.

You would never guess by looking at this
photo that it was many degrees below zero
that day and we were absolutely freezing.
It was the fastest photo session I think
we've ever had lol!

Here's a close up of the stamps along the side

To create this page I began by smooshing the
SWEET SNOWFLAKES stencil through
some grey distress ink and water before
transferring that onto the white base
of the page. Then I stampedthe days of
the week along the left side of the page
using KKS Wicked Black ink.  Next
step was some red glitter paste through the
SWEET SNOWFLAKES stencil and some
swooshes of white texture paste for a snowy
touch.  I was quite proud of myself that
this turned out so nicely as I haven't really
done much with mixed media and scrapbooking.

We'd love to see what you are creating this month!
Just make sure to include some
and make sure it's a new creation
that's not a card!  As soon as we have
at least five people playing along,
we'll be giving away a $10 gift voucher
to the krafty shop as the monthly prize!

You have until Monday, January 3rd
to enter, and you can submit as
many new creations as you like
for more chances to WIN!
Also be sure to share your designs
on the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps' Krafty Friends facebook page because we love to see your stuff!

Have a wonderful winter day!  Hugs! D

My skrappy creation this month is a scrapbook page. I'm kind of in love with the baking themed products from this past month. So many different and fun ways these can be used.  As I was making muffins last weekend it struck me that using them could make for a fun scrapbook page.  Granite Grey ink was the perfect color to add a subtle pattern with the Baking Bonanza Stencil. I used some more of the chipboard elements from the February Add On Bundle (see photo below) and one of the sentiments from Happiness is Homemade!  There's also hidden journaling under the main photo (used another sentiment from Happiness is Homemade for that). Note: non-Kraftin' Kimmie products are the stickers from my stash and the tag from a bottle of my favorite oil.

Here's my page
Here's a closer look at part of the page and the
flap with the journaling.

Thanks for popping in to visit me today!

May Skrappy Challenge - Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps

Hello lovely friends!
Hope the month of May is treating you well so far.
Today I'm here sharing a scrapbook page I made for
the monthly Krafty Skrappy Challenge at
KRAFTIN' KIMMIE STAMPS.

If you aren't familiar with this challenge it's
always got an anything goes vibe BUT... you
must make ANYTHING BUT A CARD.
So that means bookmarks, gifts, scrapbook and
planner pages, tags, boxes...you get the idea.

There are lots of ways that you can use the fabulous
Kraftin' Kimmie stamps, stencils, inks and dots.
Once we have at least 5 people participating there will
be a drawing for a $10 gift certificate to spend in the
KKS Shop.  You have until Monday, June 2nd to enter.

This past Saturday (May 2nd) in the Kraftin' Kimmie Friends Facebook Group,
in celebration of International Scrapbooking Day, we presented our
friends in the group with FIVE different challenges.  One of these
might spark your creative juices and get you started on an entry for
this month's SKRAPPY CHALLENGE.

My inspiration for this page design was one of the iNSD challenges
in the Friends Group which is to make your own background.
I'm just a wee bit behind on my scrapbooking. The pup in this page
is now 10 years old!  I made the entire background with
the PAWPRINTS Stencil using Marvelous Mocha and Ruby Red
hybrid inks. The sweet sentiments and accessory stamps are from
CUDDLES THE PUPPY clear stamp set.  The fun accents are
from Doodlebug (one of my favorite paper lines).

So now it's your turn! Go get Skrappy!

Crazy4Challenges C4C349 "Back to School Time"

Howdy and thanks for stopping in to visit me!
There's another new challenge starting today at
and the theme for C4C349 is "Back to School".

We'd like to see you make a treat for a kid going
back to school, or a gift for a teacher or anything
back to school related for this challenge.

I made a scrapbook page layout of my daughter who
is not looking forward to her summer ending and
lots of homework again.  She is, however, excited to be
a Junior this year and being that much closer to being done
with high school and on her way to college.
I imagine teachers aren't exactly looking ready to
the end of this month either - lol! I know lots of parents
though that are quite excited :o) :o) :o)

I've had this paper in my stash forever.  I think I bought it
a while before my son graduated in 2012. In fact everything
on this page is from my old stash - except for the photo.
It's kind of bittersweet to have made this layout.
I'm so excited for her as she enters this new year of
school and gets closer to heading for college. But also so NOT
ready to realize that soon I'm going to have to let her go.
I will cherish each of these next two years.

What will you share us this week?  I can't wait to see!
There are some amazing creations by the C4C DT
and Alexis Crossland-Smith (a fellow guest DT) this week too.
Go to the main blog and see - then go visit and say "hi"
won't you?  We love to hear from you!

I'd like to enter this in the following challenge as well:

Happy weekend to each and every one of you!
Hugs! D

to my cardmaking so I'm super excited about this new challenge!!
Here's my scrapbook page to share with you today using some
of these fabulous stamps:

This is my beautiful daughter.  She's normally a blonde
but decided that she wanted to be a redhead for a while.
I didn't argue with her too much about it as I've had a
few different hair colors myself.  I think she looks
gorgeous as a redhead but I do miss her beautiful blonde hair.
No matter what color her hair is, she is always picture perfect :o)

Some of the other Krafty Girls have created some lovely
things to share with you today as well.  I hope you will
go visit them and say "hi" and then add you're own
fabulous creation to our gallery.

Thanks so much for popping in to visit me today.
Til next time...hugs and happy kraftin'! D

Anything But A Card Goes for 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown

Hello dear blog friends and followers!  I must apologize that my post for this week's challenge at 52CCT is a little late.  This past week for me was a crazy one and I felt absolutely exhausted each night when I got home which did not help my crafty MOJO at all.  Lately I've been preparing my DT cards and posts the night of as I haven't had a solid weekend to play in my craft room for weeks. Can't wait to get caught up again as I hate being late with the things I enjoy the most.  So, oh well, enough of my moaning and on to what I prepared to share with you this week for the "Anything But a Card (ATC or tag) Goes"  Challenge at 52CCT.   I made this scrapbook page using the Stampin Up! My Digital Studio software program.  I must confess that I am not a digital genius by any stretch of the imagination but am wanting to use it more for a variety of projects, so am starting to practice more with it.

This is my darling niece and her dog Harley from this past Christmas. Pretty sweet - huh? Harley is a poser - he loves to have his picture taken.

What will you prepare to share with us this week at 52CCT? Remember we want to see your special creations that week that are anything but a card, tag or ATC - we are stretching your creativity and can't wait to see what you come up with.  Please pop on  over to the 52CCT site and see what the other lovely ladies on the DT have made for your inspiration.  I've already checked it out and am a bit embarrassed that my project is so simple compared to the fabulous things they have come up with.

Til next time... hugs and Happy Crafting. D

Addicted to Stamps and More! Scrapbook Challenge #4

Hello all my crafty friends!  The Scrapbook Challenge #4 theme at Addicted to Stamps and More! (formerly Addicted to Stamps) is AUTUMN.  I haven't had much time to craft lately (now making a crabby face)  but I did happen to have this stuff out for a calendar that I have been making which fit the bill perfectly for the ATS scrapbooking challenge - so I quickly put it together.  This page is all about my son, whom I recently sent off to college (boo hoo!!!). Isn't he a cutie patootie?  His birthday is in November so he gets the honor of being Mr. November for my calender - he he.  When I make these calendars I try to make each month special to a family member (or members if they have shared birthday months) or event.  So for example, the April calendar page is all about me, my husband and our daughter who all have birthdays that month (my daughter and her Daddy share the same birthday even).  October is for the kiddos dressed up in their Halloween costumes.  I vary the pictures between old and new depending on what moves me (and how far behind I am in scrapbooking).  This will be my second calendar - after the year has expired I cut the bottom strip off and stash the pages in a scrapbook. I will often put a note on the back side of the page to describe the pictures or events on the calendar page.

Scrapbooking is really my first love - I did that before I started making cards.  For me cards are little gifts I make for people to make them smile - but scrapbooking is for me to savor the wonderful memories I have now and for my kids and grandkids (future grandkids that is) to cherish later.

Do you like to scrapbook? If so go check out this challenge at ATS and make a page to share.  I really like that ATS has added a scrapbook challenge in addition to the cards - it will help me get caught up on my memories :o)  Hope you will decide to play along too so I can get some inspiration from you.

Thanks so much for stopping by to vist today - I'm sure glad that you did.  Til next tiime - Hugs and Happy Crafting!!

ATS - Scrapbook Challenge #2 - Holiday, Fun in the Sun for Lollipop Crafts #86 and CFC66 Splish/Splash

Hello again friends - I'm on a roll today with my crafty projects - whoo hoo!  But sadly I'm going to have to stop now and get some laundry and errands done.  It was fun while it lasted ;o) but back to reality now.  Before I dash off I wanted to share one more project that I finished today for 3 challenges.

I started scrapping today again thanks to a challenge over at Addicted to Stamps - Scrapbook Challenge #2 which asks us to create a scrapbook page around a family holiday (vacation in my case).  This photo is from our 2007 family vacation to the ocean in Seaside, Oregon.  Since I have about 60 photos that I need/want to scrap from this vacation I decided to make a simple page for this photo.  That is my sister down on the ocean edge with my nieces and my kids.  That's me in the blue trying to capture an upclose picture of them (my other sister took this photo of us).  The water was wayyyy colder than we expected it to be - so the adults didn't spend much time in it, but the kids loved it.  My son got a new waterboard (stuck in the sand there) that provided hours of fun for him (its quite a trick to run and jump on that thing while it is moving).

The challenges that I am entering with this page (in addition to the ATS mentioned above) are:
Lollipop Crafts #86 - Fun in the Sun (we didn't have a lot of sun on this vacation until the last 2 days - but we sure had FUN!) and CAS-Fridays #66 - Splish Splash -a CAS creation about something in or at the ocean (we - our family - is at the ocean and there is a pesky little seagul in the photo that wouldn't go away).  I do hope this qualifies as CAS - there is lots of open space and just a few elements on the page in addition to the title and photo.

Thanks so much for coming by to visit me - I'm always glad that you do!  Hope you have a wonderful weekend!  Til next time - Hugs!

ATS Scrapbook Challenge #2 - Holiday and 4 Crafty Chicks - Circles, Circles and More Circles

Hello friends and Happy Friday!  One of my goals while I've been off this summer was to scrapbook more.  More specifically... to scrapbook all those tons of photos I've taken from our last 5 family vacations - Yep, I'm that far behind - yikes.   I have paper and embellishments purchased for each vacation all sitting in a plastic bin just waiting for me to get started - so at least I'm that far ahead - lol.  So... summer is not over yet and I finally got started thanks to the challenge over at Addicted to Stamps Scrapbook Challenge #2 - Holiday (Vacation for me). This scrapbook page is from our 2007 vacation when my family went to Seaside, Oregon.  We rented a beach house and met up with my two sisters and their families and my parents came along too. We are all in sweatshirts because it was very cold there (in August!) and we hadn't come prepared for a cold beach.  The local shops made money off our family the first day we were there - lol.   It was a wonderful, wonderful time and I can't believe I've waited this long to put it on paper - good gracious!  A lot of times, when I don't put any journalling on the front of the page I usually include a note on the back - as I've done in this case.  My kids love to sit and go through the books I've made up for them - especially my daughter.  She is thrilled I've made this page.  I'm on a roll now - might just be up til the wee hours of the morning catching up ;o)

I am also entering this page in the 4 Crafty Chicks Challenge - Circles, Circles and More Circles. Circles are one of my favorite shapes to use and decorate with.  I think you can see why this page fits the 4CCC (and I didn't even plan it that way when I was making the page).  Not sure if you can see it by there are little date dials on the page too showing the month and day that we took this photo.

Thanks so much for stopping in to visit and share my memories with me.  Hope I've inspired you to dig out those photos and get to scrapping.  Til next time - Hugs!!

P.S. usually I give  you a supply list and/or details on my creations - but I've had this sooo long in a bin that I don't even remember where its from.  I can tell you that I traced a dinner plate for my large circle on the page - that's why its isn't perfectly round.
