52CCT - Pick a Previous Challenge! Mine is Sketch #15

Hello dear friends and followers!  I'm excited to share with you that the DT at 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown 52CCT have decided to mix things up a bit and add a different challenge to our list.  I think you are going to like this one a lot! For every month that there is a 5th Saturday our challenge for you at 52CCT is to Pick a Previous - sketch and make a new card with it to share with us. Sometimes this will be pick a previous color combo.  Actually if you wanted to get very creative you could combine a previous color combo and sketch challenge for your entry.

For my first "previous" option chose a previous sketch by Louise that I thought was particularly fun.  Here was the sketch:
Here's what I did with it this time:
Very little stamping (just the sentiment) thanks to the darling DSP.  I lined the inside with that same ornament pattern and added an additional sentiment (sorry couldn't get a good photo for some reason of the inside).  Here's what I did with the sketch the first time (using that same DSP paper):
I just found this to be a very versatile sketch and loved the way it helps me use up some of my hoarded patterned paper :o) .

So...I can't wait to see what you choose to do this week with our "new" challenge option of PICK A PREVIOUS Sketch and/or Color Challenge.  The other talented DT members at 52CCT have also made some wonderful inspiration for you this week - so please pop on over and give them a visit as well.

Til next time friends...hugs and happy crafting! D

  1. These cards have such a cozy Christmas feel to them! Even though you've used the same color combination for both your new and original card I think they look really different. Using one or two DPs for the card base really gives a different look even though the design is the same.

  2. Hi Danielle. Love your sweet gingerbread house! Adorable. Great papers too. Loll xx

  3. How cute! I do like the papers and the sweet little house. Loving the textured mitten inside too!

  4. You do do such lovely things with patterned papers Danielle - gorgeous card - Jacqueline xx

  5. Danielle, I really like what you did with this sketch! That gingerbread house is adorable. Very fine work this week.

  6. Gosh, Danielle, I didn't even recognise it! You've made such a fabulous card! Beautiful little gingerbread house and I agree,it is a good way to use DPs,

    Louise xx

  7. The little gingerbread house covered with snow is really cute! I like the festive ornament designer paper.

  8. This is beautiful, Danielle! LOVE these colors--you and Ruth must have been on the same color wave length this week! ;) I adore that you used the sketch on both the inside and outside!!! Fabulous card friend! :)

  9. Ooops...I didn't read! LOL, I LOVE that you showed your sketch card from the first time around--I thought that was the inside! ;)

  10. Wow Danielle, a fabulous card using that sketch! You're so right, that layout is perfect for using DSP and those are my fave SU! Christmas papers, they've got such a happy vibe! We deffo were on the same wavelength this week 'cos I used those same papers too! What a great idea to show your original card using the sketch - even though you used the same DSP pack and layout the cards are so different!

    Hope you're enjoying a wonderful summer my friend! : ) Ruth x

  11. I love these cards. Do you have the measurements for the pp? And your coloring is amazing. Thanks so much.

    1. Hi Missy. The overall card is 5 1/2" square. I cute the DSP to be 4 3/4" square then I cut it diagonally twice to get the panels. You could go with a 5" square pp too. Depends on how much of a gap you want between the pieces.

Glad you liked it. Thanks for your comment. Hugs D

Thanks for taking time to leave me a comment. It makes my day happier! Hugs!
