Freebie Friday at Bugaboo

Hello! Today is Freebie Friday at Bugaboo!!!
Who doesn't love FREEBIES?? I can't think of anyone!
This week's image called "Sign it - boy balloons" is just adorable
and has lots of possiblities - take a look:

I decided to make this a shaker card using one of the clear
packaging that some other crafty products came in.  It made
a perfect sleeve to put the sequins in.  Using an exacto knife
I cut around the image frame for the opening and then stamped
my sentiment (from "Make a Wish" by Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps") on
the card base  before attaching  the panel. The orange chevron strip
is washi tape and the red strip is from a border punch.
Bright colorful and fun!! Perfect for a boy or teen - I think.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
The Pink Elephant Challenges #301 - Masculine Birthday
The Male Room Challenge #11 - Use Washi Tape
The Friday Mashup #212 - I used the embellishments option
with a cluster of sequins.

You can find this image in the Bugaboo store today for FREE!
Some of the other wonderful designers for Bugaboo have also
made some darling creations for  your inspiration.  Please go
visit them at Catch the Bug Challenge blog and see what they have too.
Thanks so much for stopping by to visit me today! Hugs D

52CCT - October Stash Challenge - Enamel Dots

Hello to my wonderful crafty friends.
Hope life is treating you well :o)

Just got back from the movie theater so am
kind of scurrying to get my post done in time for this
next weekly challenge at 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown.
We saw "The Judge" with Robert Downey Jr. and
Robert Duval.  It was so good!!
And "oh my be still my heart"...that Robert Downey Jr.
is still such a babe. Those brown eyes of his just make me melt.

Ooops..I digress! You probably would like to know what the challenge is!
This week at 52CCT we have an Stash Challenge for you
Oooohhh this one is right up my alley. I LOVE to use
enamel dots and candy dots on my cards.
I'll just bet there are plenty of you crafters out there
that also have a stash of enamel dots to use.

Here's my card to inspire you this week:

I rescued this card base from last week.  I had started
with washi tape for my one layer card and then I just wasn't
feeling it.  This week I added a house  from my new stamp set
called Homemade Holidays and the coordinating die (Stampin' Up!).

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Addicted to Stamps and More! - Challenge #118 Holiday
Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge Extra for October
CASology - Home (I hope this qualifies as CAS)

The rest of the lovely team at 52CCT have also
made some wonderful creations to inspire you to play along
with us this week.  Please go visit them and say "hi".
I hope to see your card in the gallery soon!
Til next time...hugs and merry crafting. D

52CCT - Stash Challenge - Metallic Papers

Hello friends and happy weekend to you!  A special hello to my newest follower Tam! So glad you have decided to join me in my creative journey:o)

This morning I woke up to snow and quite a bit of it.  Our crazy Montana weather just can't seem to make up it's mind lately.  One day it feels like spring and literally the next morning it is blizzarding.  Oh well, snow really makes me want to make Christmas cards, which are my favorite type to make anyway, so I guess I won't complain too much.

Speaking of Christmas cards... it's time for a new weekly challenge at 52CCT.  Our hostess Jacqueline wants us to dig through our stash and find some metallic papers to use on a Christmas card.
That wasn't too hard for me as I keep mine fairly close by and handy.

Here's my DT card to share with and inspire you this week - Hope you like it!
I used my largest snowflake die and some brushed gold metallic cardstock. I had stamped the Santa image in gold ink (sadly the shimmer doesn't show up as well in the photo as it does IRL).  After stamping I grabbed my circle dies used part of the image for the center.  That strip in the bottom third of the card is washi tape. I'm happy with how it turned out :o)

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
ABC Christmas Challenges - D is for Die Cut
Divas by Design - Rubber Stamps Only
Papertake Weekly - Lovely Layers

I hope that you will decide to join us this week over at 52CCT for the February Stash Challenge - Use Metallic Papers.  The other lovely ladies from the 52CCT DT have made some stunning Christmas cards to share with you as well. Please pop in and say "hi" to them as well.  We love to hear from you :o)
Til next time friends and followers...hugs and happy crafting! D

ATSM Challenge #82 - Make Your Mark

Hello friends and followers - thanks for stopping by to visit me today!
Time for another weekly challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More!
This week ATSM #82 is "Make Your Mark".

This challenge is your opportunity to "color" in any form that suits your creative nature.
Lots of options available to you for this one.  You can use pencils, crayons, alcohol ink markers (such as copic or spectrum noir), chalks, watercolor or gelatos.

We have a wonderful sponsor again this week who is offering a prize to our TOP ADDICT.
Check out the challenge site here for more details.

I've used one of Kathryne's darling digital images to make my DT card this week. Take a look:

Isn't this just the sweetest little image?  It can be used for a variety of reasons such as valentines, Easter, Mother's day, birthday, thinking of you, get well and hello.  For that reason I left the sentiment off the front.  But...I do think I just might have to send it to my sister for valentine's day since it has all that lovely pink.

I chose to color this image using my copic markers (my favorite form of coloring). I used R81, R83 and R85 on the bunny and her clothing. I used RV02 and RV21 on the tulips and the green is YG13. No patterned paper for this card - instead I used washi tape (I'm starting to understand why people love it so much :o) ).

I hope that you will decide to join us this week at ATSM for Challenge #82 - "Make Your Mark".
Dawn from Lily Pink Scraps is our guest designer again this week - her cards are so awesome!
Please go visit the rest of my DT buddies and see what they have made to share with your.

I am entering the following challenges that I got inspiration from to make this card:
The Card Concept 3 - Use monochromatic pink.
My card style is Clean and Layering (my white space is pink).
I did put just the tiniest touch of green in my card too from the wall in the photo.

House of Cards - February Challenge #1 Color and/or Photo Inspiration w/Cute/Fun or Shabby Chic.
I picked up on the 3 lovely shades of pinks.
My card meets the Cute and Fun type.

Til next time friends...hugs and happy crafting! D

First Christmas card of 2014

Hello dear friends and followers, hope that you had a fabulous and blessed Christmas and that 2014 has started out on a positive note. No New Year's resolutions for me this year - wasn't completely successful with those I chose from last year. Decided not to set myself up for failure this year - LOL. I do have a few extra pounds to lose from all the holiday goodies though, so do hope to start walking and/or excercising again. Do you make New Year's resolutions?

After a bit of rest, we are back again at 52CCT.  We have a new look, some new DT members on the team (starting next month), and a whole new year of 52 weekly challenges to help you (and us) be prepared for Christmas by making your cards each week.  I know that I was very happy to have such a big, beautiful stack to choose from.  I even had some extras that I shared with a friend - that felt really  good.

So let's get started with the first challenge.  52CCT Challenge #1 of 2014 is a Sketch Challenge.

Here's my DT card to share with and inspire you this week.

I went with traditional Christmas colors and used up some of my stash of washi tape. I think I bought way too much of that stuff - so you might be seeing some more of it over the course of the year :o) The Santa is from one of my older, and loved, Stampin Up! sets.

I am also entering this card in the first challenge of 2014 for Christmas Cards All Year Round - January Christmas Anything Goes.

The rest of the lovely ladies on the 52CCT DT  have made some wonderful creations to share with you as well.  Please pop on over to the challenge site and see what they've done.  I hope you will decide to join us this year - it's lots of fun! Can't wait to see what you make. Til next time...hugs and happy crafting! D

RetroSketches #84 and The Paper Players #166 - Halloween

Hello again - a double post for me tonight. I can't remember the last time I did that!  I was completely inspired by the sketch this week at RetroSketches #84 - I actually even dreamed about it before I got up and made it (crazy right?).  Take a look at what I made:

And here is the sketch I used:

I saw this sketch and just knew that it would be perfect for using some of my Halloween washi tape. It would also be great for stamp borders, or those little strips of patterned paper (that are so hard to throw away).  I used my grid paper to help me keep my strips straight.  I put the orange and black ones down first and then added the word strip last.  Pretty easy and quick! The hardest part was deciding what to put on for stamps, elements or sentiments (so many ideas).  Since most of my halloween stamps are more along the lines of "cute" not spooky, I had to hunt a bit for what would work well with the slightly dark and spooky tape (skulls) - somehow cute didn't totally cut it.   So I grabbed my retired bat punch and came up with a good mix (I think) between cute and spooky.  Of course I had to add a little glitter - couldn't help myself :o).

I am also entering my card in The Paper Players Challenge #166 - Nance's Theme: Halloween.  It's been a while since I've made one of their challenges so I was glad to be able to pay along for a change.

So here it is the end of my weekend and time to get myself off to bed.  Have a very busy week coming up at work so I need my beauty rest and brain re-charge.  Thanks so much for stopping by to visit me - I'm sure glad that you did.  Til next time...hugs and happy crafting! D

ABC Challenges - Sketch

Hello dear friends and followers!  This is the start of a brand new week (the last one in the month of May) and another fun challenge at 'ABC' Challenges.  This week we have a sketch challenge for you. Take a look at my take on it.
I've used a couple of new products from Stampin Up! (Sneak Peek) for my card today - NEW Designer Series paper and NEW washi tape.  This is the first time that I've played with washi tape. I must admit that I was wondering what all the fuss is about washi - but I get it now :o)  It's really versatile and easy to use.  You can achieve a different look depending on how you decide to use it - such as I have by flagging the ends.  The cup is from a retired Sale-A-Bration set that I seemed to fit this paper nicely. Usually I get rid of my retired sets but this one has a lot of cute images in it and I had hardly used it - so I decided to keep it. I colored the stamp with SU markers to get the three color effect.

The other ladies on the DT at 'ABC' Challenges have also made some beautiful cards to share with you this week so I hope that you will go visit them as well and have a look.  Hope to see your own beautiful card in the challenge this week too.

Thanks so much for visiting today. Til next time... hugs and happy crafting! D
