Mojo Monday 232

Hello friends, this is the card I made for this weeks Mojo Monday Challenge MOJO232.  This sketch is nice for putting together a quick card.  The flower was the longest part but still was fairly quick.  I hadn't played much with this paper until recently and I just love the bright cheery colors of this DSP (so appropriately called "Cheerful Treat") - its got great variety.  If you click on the card it will zoom you in to better see the other colors included in this great pack of paper (the middle of the flower).  This is available as a hostess choice in the Stampin Up! Idea Book and Catalog until the end of May.

If you are wondering how I made this flower, here are the deets... Punch 4 circles from the DSP using the 2 1/2" circle punch (120906) and fold each piece in half and then in half again (each piece folded in half - if that makes more sense).  I glued each folded circle to a 1 3/4" circle base as I layed each folded piece down.  The middle of the flower is 4 punched scallop circles using the Scallop Circle punch (119854). I put a small glue dot close to the edge of each folded scallop piece just to keep it together but it still has some dimension to it.  The finishing touches are some of the smallest pearls from the Basic Pearls set (119247) around the edges and a larger one in the middle placed on a button from the Subtles Designer Buttons collection (119745).  I wrapped the ribbon around my entire card (because I accidently glued down my layers before I remembered the ribbon) so the recipient will see a pretty piece inside too.  This is the 3/8" Ruffled Ribbon in Wisteria Wonder (122973).  This ribbon has a soft, almost papery feel to it and is fun to work with. I used a corner rounder from my stash but you could use the SU 3/16" Corner punch (119871) to get a very similar effect.

Thanks for stopping by - I hope you enjoyed this card and saw something that inspired you to go create something fun!
