Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps - 2024 RECAP Celebration!

Hello krafty peeps! I'm excited to be sharing
one of the special stamp sets and a
sweet two-piece layering stencil for the
4th day of December recap of the
AHHHMAZING krafty goodies introduced in 2024.

LOOK OUT WORLD! is definitely
one of my go to stamp sets for all things
baby - expecting announcements, baby
showers, births, birthdays, scrapbooks,
gifts and tags.
And...when this uber adorable stamp
set is paired with the super fun
two piece layering stencil called
New Baby, the cuteness is off the charts!!

I made two cards to share with you today.
Here's the first, made for my niece who
recently announced that she is expecting
a wee little lass.

The KKS hybrid ink colors that
I used with the stencil are:
And
After stenciling the colors,
I then traced through the stencil
with a black midliner pen.

I decorated the inside too with
one of the sentiments from the
set and the left over piece of
the stenciled panel.

And here is the second card that I made
for my cousin's son who is having a baby boy
this next year.

I love how you can use the little icons to
create a custom background and not have
to worry about matching paper colors with
how you want to color the main image.

Here’s how I decorated the inside too

Guess what?
and

The sale price is only good until December 12th
(and while supplies last - some of these
will likely sell out).
Kimmie is holding all packages until
the Canadian postal strike is over.
You'll get all your goodies in one
package and save the shipping costs
due to the bundling. That's a win!

Thanks for stopping in to visit me today.

Hello friends! Happy Sunday!
I woke up this morning to a LOT of snow and
extremely cold wind/temperature - Yucky!
I knew it was coming but kind of thought
it wouldn't be too bad.  Wrong lol!
This chick is going to be staying home all day
crafting and snuggled up with my puppies!

Yesterday we kicked off a bunch of awesome challenges
to celebrate reaching 6,000 followers and Kimmie's
birthday.  Today I'll be catching up on a few more of
those challenges while I'm staying in and warm.
If you'd like to join the fun and have a chance for
some great KKS prizes, you have all week to enter
your own (new) crafty creation.  Hope you do!

The second challenge is a sketch challenge.
Here's the fun sketch

and here's the card I made with it for
an upcoming baby shower. I've had this stamp
set for a while now but it's the first time
I've had an opportunity to use it.

Stamp set - Baby Love
Inks - Wicked Black (elephant), Granite Grey (sentiment)
Pretty in Pink (stenciled hearts) - all hybrid inks
Enamel Dots - Lovey Dots
Stenciled hearts - Happy Hearts stencil
Colored with Copic markers
Cardstock and ribbon - Stampin Up

Catch the Bug Challenges - Anything Goes {May 2016}

Happy Saturday to all my crafty followers!
We've got a very busy weekend planned - how about you?

Today is the start of a new month of challenges
at CATCH THE BUG CHALLENGES!
How in the world did that last month go by so fast.
It seemed as though it was only a few sleeps
and viola it was a new month.

Oh well...at least we'll start seeing some beautiful flowers
in the yard and around the area.  Already the lilacs are
budding up and I can hardly wait for them to bloom!

The theme for this first Saturday of the month
is ANYTHING GOES!  Oh I know you like that one!
I do too!  For my DT creation I made this sweet baby boy
card using the adorable image called Hang in there dog

I fussed around for awhile trying to figure out where to
put a sentiment or die cut word "baby" but finally decided
that I like it just fine without that and it's quite obviously
that its a new baby boy card.  This way it can be for a
shower or for the actual congrats after.

Please come play along with us this week! We love
to see your wonderful creations in the gallery!
See you soon!! Hugs D

Bugaboo Stamps 6th Annual Birthday Bash - Welcome to the Jungle {Photo Inspiration}

Hello! Have you been playing along with the fun challenges
so far this week for at Catch the Bug Challenges for
It's been a week of wild fun - as in a Jungle/Zoo Theme :o)
Today's challenge is to make a creation based on this
photo (scrapbook page, frame, card, tag, cake toppers, etc.)

Is this just adorable or what?
What inspiration do you take from this?
I saw a new baby shower or celebration so I made
a card featuring a couple of the adorable images

I've noticed that jungle themed baby decorations are very trendy
right now.  I love that the colors are so bright and cheery and
can be used for boys or girls.  In this case I made a card for
a boy as I am behind in sending a card to a family member
who had a precious little son not long ago.  Hope they like it!

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
Simon Says Wednesday Challenges - Create with a Critter
Ruby's Rainbow Challenge #121 Animal Magic
Robyn's Fetish Challenges #299 - Animals
Crafting from the Heart Challenge #95 - anything goes
Addicted to Stamps and More #177 - Make Your Mark

I hope that you've been playing along with us this week.
If you haven't you still have time to catch up!  Go here
for details and links to each of the daily challenges.

This is a big event so there are some big prizes up for grabs,
I hope you have time to join us for the week!

The rules are simple, please create a Birthday project fitting
each theme of the day and add it to the inlinkz per day.
You can enter once or you can enter each day to increase your chances.
A Bugaboo image is not required however we would love
to see what image you dust of to show your support!

Thanks for visiting me today!  Hugs! D

King of the Crib - Your Next Stamp Sketch Challenge #22

Hello friends! Things have been a bit quiet on my blog
this past week.  I thought once school started things would
kind of slow down again but things have gotten a bit crazier
and busier instead.  Hmmm...what's up with that?

I did find time to make a special request card for a
new baby boy that is on his way soon.   Take a look:

The nursery is decorated in a jungle theme.
I used the super sweet stamp set from Your Next Stamp
called "King of the Crib, a fun die cut set from SugarPea Designs
called "Baby Diaper Pin", some ribbon from my stash and some super
adorable Doodlebug Patterned Papers - Baby Boy.

It's a bit difficult to see in the photo but I double layered the lion's head
(stamped it twice and fussy cut around one of them) and popped it up
with glue dots for extra dimension.  It's way cute IRL!
Here's the inside too:

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Your Next Stamp Sketch challenge #22 (see below)

Thanks for stopping in to visit me!
Have a wonderful weekend! Hugs! D

Hello sweet friends and happy weekend to you!

Both of these challenges have a theme of "BABY" this week
so it worked out perfectly to make one card for both challenges.

Did you see that Princess Kate had a baby girl!!!!
I'm so happy for them and was hoping it was a girl :o)

I LOVE to make baby cards but unfortunately not many of
my friends are in the new baby making phase of their lives
anymore.  I still enjoy making the cards though cause you
never know when a co worker might need one - or a friend
becomes a grandma. Here's my card :o)

This card is a CASE of a card from Delphine from Delphine's Place.
As soon as I saw it I knew I would be CASING it at some point.
Here's Delphine's card:

The main image is a stamp called "Diana" and that wonderful
sentiment is from a stamp set called "Words of Inspiration".
Both sets are from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps, where Kimmie has posted
a HUGE, awesome SALE for (Inter)National Scrapbook Day!
In fact....."Words of Inspiration" is in this sale.
Did I mention it's BIG?? But it's only for this weekend.

Hello again friends!
This is my second DT post for the day
and this time I'm here for the weekly challenge
at My Time to Craft (MTTC)!
MTTC #283 is to make a creation for a Special Lady.

I made this frame for one of my DT pals Kelli
who just became a Grandma to a precious baby girl.
She has now received it so I can share it with you.

What does it mean "For a Special Lady"?  Well...it could be a creation
for Mother's Day, or for a for a Grandma, a friend, a teacher, or for your
sister or daughter just to let them know they are special.
So many wonderful possibilities!
I hope that you will be joining us this week!

I am also entering my frame in the following challenges:

who is offering a $25 prize to the winner this week!!

Here is Sketch #352
and here is my DT card to inspire you:

MTTC #253 - Paper Piecing

Hello friends!  So nice of you to stop by to visit me today.
A special hello to my newest follower - granmargaret :o)

It's been a busy past couple of weeks for me with not much time for crafting.
Summer is so short here - and there are lots of outside projects to do.
Plus I want to soak up as much of the sunshine and fresh air as I can :o).

This fortnight the MTTC Challenge #253 is Paper Piecing.
Here's my DT card to share with you:

No one in particular in mind for this card. I was cleaning out some baskets
of stamps to get ready to sell and came across this darling duck
and it seemed like a perfect stamp to use paper piecing with.

I really enjoyed seeing the Christmas creations in the last MTTC Challenge.
I can't wait to see what you create for MTTC #253 using Paper Piecing.
My lovely DT pals have also made some wonderful creations to share with you.
Won't you pop on over to their blogs and say "hi" too?

One Short Weekend - Two Completed Cards (Take 1)

Hello friends! Here it is almost the end of the weekend already.   I was a homebody for most of the weekend due to the cold and snow - it was nice and it sure went by quickly. How does that happen so fast?

I had high hopes to get a lot of crafting time in - which I did, but unfortunately my mojo seemed to be on vacation (probably somewhere warm and sunny) as I only got a couple of cards done in that whole time.  The ideas were there, but there seemed to be a hiccup in the process and end result.  I completely tore apart 2 cards yesterday.  I'm the kind of person who saves every little bit of paper and the discarded elements from cards that did materialize. I hate when it happens that I actually tear it up and toss it - I feel so wasteful!  So...I took a break and tried again this afternoon and was successful in making a couple cards that I'm happy with.    Here's the first one I made with some specific challenges in mind:

I seem to have baby on the brain since finding out that one of the ladies from my card group is having a baby.  She doesn't know if it's a boy or girl.  I made a boy card recently and decided to keep this one generic in case she has a shower before the baby arrives. Now I just have to make a baby girl card and I've covered all possibilities (except twins - but she said she is only having one) :o)/
I stamped the image w/Memento ink (black) and then colored it in with copic markers.
I hadn't originally intended on fussy cutting around the intricate image but I dropped an inked stamp on the outer edge of the first circle as I was moving things around on my desk and it got messed up.
Ohhhh...I wanted to cry as I was really happy with how it had turned out.
And... it wasn't easy coloring those tiny little parts and staying in the lines.
I just couldn't bring myself to scrap the whole image.
Sadly, there was no way I was going to be able to hide the boo-boo.
So... I grabbed my scissors and began the process of fussy cutting and redoing the main circle piece.
I think I saved it and it's still pretty cute - but what a bummer when that happens :o(.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
Addicted to CAS (ATCAS) where the code word is BABY

To save you from having to read through a really long post - I'm going to put my second card from today on a separate post.  Isn't that sweet of me - lol.

Stay tuned for Part 2.  Til next time...hugs and happy crafting! D
