Keep Your Face to the Sunshine - Watercoloring w/distress inks

Hello friends hope you are having a wonderful day!

I'm sharing a card that I made today using one 

of my newest crafty purchases from Unity Stamp Co.

called "Face the Sunshine". Take a look:

Lately I've become obsessed with water coloring with

distress inks.  It's so satisfying to create this way!  

I'm also kind of obsessed w/plaid paper lately :0).
I guess there are worse things to be obsessed with - right??

Today is my 25th Anniversary so I made a card for my
very patient, helpful and loving husband.  It's so amazing
how fast 25 years together goes by!  What a ride marriage is,
so many ups and downs and in betweens but as this card
says "Together is Better"!  I hope he likes this card.

Catch the Bug Challenges - Anything But A Card

Happy Monday everyone hope your Easter weekend was nice!
We spent a wonderful few hours at my folks house eating
and playing games.  I felt very blessed to be with them.

Monday's are "Anything But a Card" day
at CATCH THE BUG CHALLENGES
where the DT shows you how to get crafty in
different ways using the awesome Bugaboo Stamps
digital images.  My creation to share with you today
is an Easter wreath using the most recent Friday Freebie
"Easter Egg Basket" - take a look:

I apologize that this is not the best photo.  I took the photo

and then took the wreath to work to hang on my office door.

Sadly I didn't check the photo before I did that - Ugh! 

Here's one that is a little better of the main image in the middle

 I used up a bunch of older papers that were in my 

stash (12 x 12 size) in colors that are perfect for 

spring and Easter.  I also grabbed some bright 

tissue paper for previous gift bags and used that

for the center part.  It's much prettier in real life.

Spring Coffee Lover's Blog Hop - Coffee a Magical Substance {Bugaboo Stamps}

Oh hello again!  I was busy last night
(translated to stayed up past my bed time)
making a couple cards for the
SPRING COFFEE LOVER'S  BLOG HOP.

This time I went with a sentiment only card
(one of my favorite types of cards to make)
that might seem kind of funny to you - but if you ask
my hubby he'd tell you that it's true (hehe).

This is a digital image from Bugaboo Stamps.
It's included with the image called
"Stella Peeker - magical substance".
There are lots and lots of coffee related digital
images in the Bugaboo Stamps store.  Just search
by coffee and you'll see lots of options pop up.
The papers are from the NEW Echo Park Spring
collection (6x6 pad).  The heart clip and little hearts
were a gift from my Kraftin' Kimmie sister Tracy.

Spring Coffee Lover's Blog Hop - Love Affair w/Coffee {Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps}

Hello friends!

I'm back with another card to share with you

for the SPRING COFFEE LOVER'S  BLOG HOP.

This card is a tribute to my love affair with coffee 

I pulled out my mini distress ink pads and started

sponging the base panel.  I mixed and matched two

oranges, a peach and a red to get this blend of bright

yet warm colors (that's how I feel about coffee a bright

and warm start to my day - hehehe).  Then I embossed

the sentiment and go cups.  I left the space around the

sentiment a little wet and when poured the embossing powder

on the panel it smudged.  At first I was horrified that I had

ruined it and then I decided that I loved it because it looks

like coffee grounds.  What's that saying "a happy accident"

or something like that  :o).  I then added a few of the coffee 

beans around the panel and as a last touch decided to 

splash a few drops of water on there for a bit more 

effect.  I'm really happy with how it turned out and 

it was fun to get inky with this one.

Kraftin' Kimmie - March Krafty Scrappin' Challenge

Hello crafty friends! It's time for another monthly
Krafty Scrappin' Challenge at

KRAFTIN' KIMMIE.

What makes these monthly challenges unique is that you can create 

ANYthing your little heart desires as long as it's NOT a card! 

 Calendars, bookmarks, pocket pages, traditional scrap pages, holiday gifts, 

planner pages... you get the idea! 

I made some Easter treat bags for my co-workers 

using one of the adorable stamps from SPRING TRINKETS.
There are 8 great stamps in this set for spring, easter and Mother's day.

Did you know that Kimmie is clearing out her rubber stamps

inventory and going completely clear?  There are still some of this  

adorable set available in the KKS shop but I'm not sure for how long.

So if you love this set I'd recommend you go grab it for yourself

(I'm sure glad I did!) cause when they're gone...they're gone!

(I used some of the yummy new Lawn Fawn plaid papers)

Oh my gosh...in the process of making these gifts I discovered 

a new obsession - Cadbury mini chocolate eggs.  These are

to die for - literally.  I almost decided to go buy a bag of jelly
beans for these gifts and keep the chocolate for myself!! 

But I decided that those extra 10 pounds I would gain

weren't worth being selfish over - LOL!

Here's my creation to share with you today:

I've been itching to play with my new distress inks after watching
a video by Jennifer McGuire on this technique that basically washes
away some of the color from the image and then adds others back in.
 I started by embossing the beautiful butterflies and then added
two different blue distress inks with the felt pads until the
entire white panel was covered.  Then I began the washing process
(adding water with a brush to the image) and then used some other
colors and water colored them into the image. I was absolutely thrilled
with how this turned out! And it was so much fun to do!!

So, I decided to use one with these great patterned papers. 

I do love how it turned out! Honestly one of the quickest cards

I've ever made and aren't the colors yummy?! Perfect for spring!

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps - March NEW Release Sneak Peek - DAY TWO "Fairy Loved"

I hope you were able to hop around yesterday for

Today we have another adorable set that I sure you 

will LOVE as much as I do.
It's called "FAIRY LOVED"by artist Emilie Goulet!

The set features two main fairy images and a sweet little butterfly

Kraftin' Kimmie - March NEW Release Sneak Peek DAY ONE - Teacup Fairy

Hello! hello! Hello!

So happy you are here to visit me as today is the start of  

another month of amazing NEW clear stamp sets that will be 

released at the end of this week at KRAFTIN' KIMMIE STAMPS!  

I know I say this almost every month but SERIOUSLY

this month is really something special!!

Our first day of Krafty Peeks has TWO new sets from artist, Annie Rodrigue!
These sweeties are perfect for spring and I mean, who doesn't love FAIRIES?!

 The first set, ROSIE FAIRY, features the sweet main image
PLUS FOUR fabulous coordinating sentiments!

And the second set, TEACUP FAIRY, features the lovely
main image PLUS FOUR fun coordinating sentiments!

Kraftin' Kimmie Challenges #322 - SPRING

Happy weekend crafty peeps!

Don't you love Saturdays?  I sure do!

I love Saturdays for many reasons...such as I'm

not usually at work, I can sleep in (when my body lets me),

and...it's the start of a new weekly challenge at 

KRAFTIN' KIMMIE CHALLENGES!

This week the theme is SPRING.

Oh yes please I say - even if it means rain.
I love to see things start to turn green and the

flowers poking up out of the ground to show their faces.

I am sharing a card today that I made using the 

NEW & ADORABLE clear stamp set  called

"You are My Sunshine"  which is currently 

only available as part of the limited edition

Spring Krafty Kard Kit.  Take a look:

 This is a set that I'll be using a ton. I masked the little

chick sitting in the boots.  Don't you agree -Adorable?!
