Hello krafty peeps - happy weekend to you!
We have a new theme challenge starting today at
Each and every Saturday we post a new challenge and
you have all week to enter as many times as you'd like.
Each entry must be a NEW creation and you're welcome to
use any stamp set - but if you use a Kraftin' Kimmie stamp
and/or product your entry will count as double toward the
monthly prize drawing. What's the prize you might ask???
It's a $25 gift voucher to spend in the KKS Shop!
Awesomeness right?!?!
Our hostess this week is krafty gal Keri who has chosen
There are soooo many ways to add texture (or the appearance
of texture). You can add texture with your coloring, by using
buttons, fabric, ribbon, distress paper, glitter, embossing, dots
sequins, textured dies, metal charms...see what I mean?!!
At first I was completely stumped and overwhelmed with this
concept. Then as I started digging through all my crafty stash
I came up with all kinds of stuff I've completely forgotten about.
Then I was overwhelmed with what to use first and
tons of ideas flooded my head for the next time - LOL!
That's why they call it a challenge peeps - sometimes it
pushes us out of our comfort zone and allows us the opportunity
to try new things. Will you accept our challenge this week?
My card features one of the super adorable images from
MAKE A WISH and LOTS of texture
(maybe even a little too much haha).
On initial glance how many ways would you say I added texture?
Let's count them: 1) glitter paper
2) embossed edging around the square die cut shape
3) enamel dots
4) colored rhinestones
5) a sequin
6)fabric flowers
7) scrunching up the flowers and adding color for depth
8) wink of Stella on her colored pieces of hair & the blue flower
9) Pop dotted the sentiment to be raised slightly
10) coloring of the outfit to create folds
ohhh and last 11) a curled corner on the top right.
WHEW! Maybe a bit overload but soooo much FUN!
Truly stretched me outside my comfort zone and I loved it.
It's supposed to be rainy all weekend here which is a bummer
for my family and friends who are trying to celebrate graduates
with a ceremony or party (socially distanced of course).
I will be going to a couple of those events but also
crafting my little heart away in preparation of the JUNE
NEW Release peeks which start next week.
If you are looking for some krafty fun this weekend?
The Krafty Krew has put together two days of
live color alongs, challenges and tutorials
featuring the stamps and products from the May
release. It will be Jam packed with inspiration and fun
and PRIZES! I hope you'll be able to pop in and participate.
Before I go I want to remind (enable) you about the
