52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown - Sketch #8

Happy Saturday friends!  Here it is August already and our hostess for the month at 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown is Jacqueline who has come up with a fabulous sketch to start us off.
I decided that my card this week needed to be sparkly with all those stars on it - so I pulled out my star punch and some silver glitter paper and began creating.  If  you look closely there is also so sparkle on the tip of Rudolph's nose, around the stocking and on Santa's nose and hat.  With all that sparkle I had a hard time getting a really good photo to share, but here's a couple close-up views:
I didn't use any patterned paper for a change (this is unusual for me) but I did create a faux fabric look by covering my texture pad with versamark and running it through my Big Shot machine.  It's very subtle and hard to see in the photos, but it looks sort of like velvet to me.

Thanks so much for stopping by to visit me today - I'm sure glad that you did!  Did I mention that the other gals on the DT have some wonderful creations for you to see HERE on the 52CCT challenge site?  If you haven't started on your Christmas cards yet, never fear ... if you start now and play along with us each week you will have many wonderful cards to send to your family and friends. We'd love to have you join us!   Til next time - Hugs!

Supplies (all from Stampin Up!): This card is a standard A2 size but it would be fun as a 5" square too.  Cardstock - Real Red, Gumball Green, Whisper White and Silver Glitter.  Stamps and sentiment are from a retired set called "Sparkly and Bright" - it was one of my favorite whimsical sets and it still makes me smile.   I stamped the images first and then used the postage stamp punch.  This is then layered on top of a 1 1/4" square.  The texture plate I used is called Perfect Details and is now retired.

  4. You did a wonderful job with this sketch challenge, love all that sparkle. I almost used this same stamp set (great minds think alike, right?). I had it sitting on my table and then I decided to use bells for my card.
