Spring Break Vacation Destination for OCCC & Divas by Design

Hello and Happy Monday!    My kids are on spring break this week but I am headed to work.  No fun or exotic destination for our family this year (upcoming college visits will be our trip this year) - but that doesn't mean I can't dream.   I am entering this card in two challenges today:  Our Creative Corner (OCCC) "spring break vacation destination" Challenge and Divas By Design Challenge 27 "Distressing".

The design team at Our Creative Corner has come up with the idea to make a postcard that would reflect where we are going or would most like to do for Spring Break vacation. The additional requirement is to include the name of your destination somewhere on your project.  You can see that I didn't use a name but I hope that you'll get that my dream destination is to travel the world ( the globe is sort of my name if you read between the line :o)).  It is a dream of mine to travel around the world - there are so many places I haven't been and so many that I would like to see like Australia, Germany, Italy (have you read the book "Eat, Pray, Love"?), Paris, Switzerland, Hawaii, Boston, Virginia, Costa Rica, Jamaica, Japan, London, New York, Disneyworld, the huge shopping mall in Canada (ha ha)... you get the idea.  I wish I would hurry up and win the lottery so that I could be on a perpetual spring break vacation - LOL!  Spring is still trying to come here in Montana.  Saturday we still had some residual snow in the yard from a snow storm a couple days before.  This morning we are completely socked in with fog.  So my postcard would come from everywhere eventually, but I think it I was going somewhere this week I would pick somewhere warm and tropical.

The Divas By Design Challenge is distressing such as paper tearing, inking, distress paints etc.  My distressing on this card is the distressed patterned paper and the distressed edges on my two titles.  The stamps I used also have a distressed effect to them.   I used a mix of stamps and digital images from My Digital Studio to make this card.  Here is a couple other views:
So where would you go (or are you going)?  Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies (all are from Stampin UP!): Cardstock - Crumb Cake and Cajun Craze.  Patterned paper - Well Worn DSP (122359). Classic Ink - Cajun Craze (119671). My Digital Studio images - "Daring Adventure" (inside sentiment), "Sentimental Journey" (airplane and suitcase), " The Open Sea" (globe).  Stamps - Sentimental Journey (Travel, Journey & compass) - retired.  I snipped the inside globe out of a saying in the Word Play set (120308 wood or 120651 clear).

The Daring Adventure set is also a stamp set that is currently available in the Idea Book (122600 wood or 122602 clear).

  4. Hello Danielle
You have made a wonderful card depicting a destination for a spring break.... no half measures I take it, all or nothing!
And you have combined the elements so well on the card.
The world, just marvellous, and why not, personally I would drop Aussie and head straight for New Zealand! Ha I am biased.
Thank you so very much for joining us this week at OCC, we are delighted to see your work.
    Smiles:)

  5. Hi Danielle, what a fab card - love the image and the colours you have used.

Wonderful to think about all those places to visit - I live in England and used to live near London so to me that's familiar but haven't ever been to the other cities / places you list! I lived in Scotland for a few years and could highly recommend Edinburgh for your list - it's a beautiful city and wonderful people.

Thanks for joining in with us at Divas by Design this week.
